Work hard He was born and raised in India. 2. Really enjoy what you do He attended Willamette University in Oregon where he earned a master’s degree in management, and now serves on the board of trustees. 3. Find your definition of success He previously served as Chairman, Deloitte LLP (US member firm) for four years. 4. Be yourself He's a member of the boards of directors at United Way Worldwide, US-India Business Council, and Japan Society. 5. Set high goals for yourself He's a member of the board of trustees for the US Council for International Business. 6. Empower people He speaks regularly on research regarding the attributes of exceptional organizations. 7. Find mentors He has held several leadership roles within Deloitte, including CEO of Deloitte Consulting LLP in the US member firm. 8. Find yourself During his tenure as US Consulting CEO, the US consulting practice experienced tremendous growth despite an ongoing recession. 9. Get comfortable with being uncomfortable For the past three years, he has commissioned the Deloitte Core Beliefs & Culture Survey. 10. Stop and smell the roses In 2015, he was named among the 100 most influential business leaders who have graduated from schools accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International.
