Child labor is rampant across much of Africa, and governments face a massive challenge in trying to minimize and eventually eliminate it. Botswana's economy is stable and well-managed with low rates of inflation. The country offers a stable workforce, good industrial relations and competitive labour costs. In addition, a good transport infrastructure and modern telecommunication system lend to the attractiveness of doing business in the country. Furthermore, the country enjoys a reputation as the least corrupt country in Africa with high transparency and a well-developed legal system.
Minerals, especially diamonds, have been the mainstay of the country's economy since independence from the British in 1966. The country's high rate of economic growth is due largely to this mining sector, which accounts for 90% of national foreign exchange earnings, and at nearly 40%, provides the single largest source of GDP as well as government revenues.
Despite continued challenges such as HIV/AIDS, small market size and landlocked location, Botswana, already one of Africa's wealthiest nations with a thriving economy based on diamond mining and tourism, remains one of the best investment opportunities in the developing world

What do you think of when you hear, "disease in sub-Saharan Africa?" Richmond Sarpong invites us to reject stereotypes and redefine the face of disease in Africa.
Richmond Sarpong, who was born in Ghana, West Africa, is a professor of chemistry in the Department of Chemistry at the University of California, Berkeley, where he has been since 2004. He moved to the United States in 1991 after a childhood and adolescent years in Ghana, Zambia, and Botswana, respectively.
He was an undergraduate student at Macalester College, obtained his Ph.D. from Princeton University, and conducted a postdoctoral stay at Caltech.
Richmond and his research group at Berkeley are interested in identifying efficient and versatile ways to prepare natural products, which are compounds isolated from living organisms that form the basis for over 50% of the medicines that are currently on the market. His passion to pursue science with potential medicinal value was driven by the scourge of river blindness and AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa, which he witnessed first hand.

When Lion Mating !! The lion (Panthera leo) is one of the big cats in the genus Panthera and a member of the family Felidae. The commonly used term African lion collectively denotes the several subspecies found in Africa. Wild lions currently exist in sub-Saharan Africa and in Asia (where an endangered remnant population resides in Gir Forest National Park in India) while other types of lions have disappeared from North Africa and Southwest Asia in historic times. Lion populations are untenable outside designated reserves and national parks. Indigenous Africa is testimony to the full spectrum, of skin tones, hair textures, rich religious and cultural practices. Africa though the second largest continent is home to 1,022,234,000 people. There are an estimated 3000 tribes in Africa and each consisting of their own unique culture, religion, history and fashion. Africa is a melting pot of skin tones as well. Northern Africans claim the Arabic race. Egyptians, Nubian's, Libyans and other Arabic countries of North Africa claim this identity. Great ancient Kingdoms and empires are known to this area especially Egypt. An ancient land of Pharaohs, Pyramids architectural genius and skill. Sub - Saharan Africa, though most of it's history is largely unknown is the birthplace of Mankind. The inhabitants of Sub-Saharan Africa are black, which is why its normally referred to as "Black Africa". In sub Saharan Africa are hundreds of Tribes and on the land once ruled Great civilizations and Kingdoms. Though slavery is normally regarded as negative because of it Mama Africa's descendants are now spread world wide. Scattered around Sub-Saharan Africa are Bantu-sent tribes all consisting of Darker skin peoples. The tribes have Bantu-sent tongues and all consist of similar culture/practices. The land god-given to these people is blessed in abundance with natural beauty and wealth. Plains, Rain forests and Deserts are natural ecosystems/landscapes in the area. The Masai are normally tall and thin while The Yoruba of Nigeria are normally much larger. The Himba of Namibia are light skinned. All these different looks are attributed to different tribes/areas of Africa. As genetically different as we are all Africa possesses the natural beauty of it's land and the physical beauty of it's people. That's what makes us identify, our love for each other and our love for our land. In my language " Nyanzire Africa ", for all She is Mother Africa.

Each Chainless Hot Slag Tyre can be subjected to heat levels up to 500 Degrees Celsius. With each tyre being chainless, one would think that the tyre would perish at a much faster rate than traditional Slag Tyres; however, we have found that each Chainless Hot Slag Tyre lasts up to twice as long as a traditional Slag Tyre. This ultimately results in these tyres being more cost-effective and perfect for use within the mining and smelting industry.

Country action should drive the data revolution from the bottom up, but high-level activities surrounding the post-2015 development agenda can and must help catalyze progress on national statistics. This event will highlight the need for more timely, accurate, and open data in Africa, and discuss strategies to help national governments, donors, technical agencies, and the producers and users of statistics to drive a data revolution that can be led and sustained in the region.
The event will mark the launch of the Data for African Development Working Group report, Delivering on the Data Revolution in Sub-Saharan Africa, co-chaired by Amanda Glassman from the Center for Global Development and Alex Ezeh from the African Population Health and Research Center in Nairobi, Kenya.

M&M; Tyre and Wheel Solutions recently conducted a highly successful testing session of Africa's first Chainless Hot Slag Tyre at the Lydenburg Xtrata Smelter Plant. Each Chainless Hot Slag Tyre can be subjected to heat levels up to 500 Degrees Celsius. With each tyre being chainless, one would think that the tyre would perish at a much faster rate than traditional Slag Tyres; however, we have found that each Chainless Hot Slag Tyre lasts up to twice as long as a traditional Slag Tyre. This ultimately results in these tyres being more cost-effective and perfect for use within the mining and smelting industry.
