Shortly thereafter, Rajni gives birth to a male deformed child, Bhootnath takes possession of the child and leaves it in an open grave. Plot: Devout lower-caste Poojary Madhavcharya lives a poor lifestyle in a village along with his wife, a son, and younger brother, Gopal. He makes a living by offering prayers at the local Mandir, is very much respected by villagers, and believed to actually speak with Bhagwan Shri Kishan. Troubles will plague him after he finds out that Gopal has not only been creating problems for Chaudhry Rudranarayan, but has also fallen in love and wants to get married to an upper-caste girl, Rajni, the daughter of the local Thakurain. Before he could even attempt to resolve these issues, the keys of the Mandir are taken away from him, and he can no longer pray nor converse with Kishanji. Things come to a boil after he is told that Gopal has forcibly taken the keys, and has stolen all the Mandir's jewelry.

Plot: Advocate Gautam Mehra lives in Bombay with his wife, Anju, and a daughter, Rakhsa. One day while returning from court he sees a woman being molested. He stops, phones the police, and then tries to stop the molester, in vain, though as himself gets attacked and loses consciousness. But the police do arrive and arrest the molester. Raghuvir's attempts to convince Gautam to change his testimony are in vain. Gautam goes on to testify against Raghuvir Singh, and gets him sentenced to seven years rigorous prison. Six years later, Raghuvir re-enters the lives of the Mehras, and he is not going to disappear until he has had his vengeance against all three. Efforts to stop him through the police are in vain, as he has not committed any crime yet. The Mehras decide to re-locate to their farm house near a lake without notifying anyone. While they are being re-located Gautam finds out that it is not just Raghuvir who is out for vengeance - there is someone other than him who wants them dead.

Plot: Fakirchand lives a wealthy lifestyle along with his wife, Lakshmi; a daughter named Kamla, and two sons, Raja, who attends college, and Ratan, who is in school. Kamla is an activist against the social evil of dowry, and works as a school-teacher. When the school upgrades it's building, they hire an engineer, Kumar, and both Kamla and Kamla fall in love with each other. Kumar lives a middle-class lifestyle with his widower dad, Dhaniram, and two sisters, Rajni, who attends college, and Munni, who is school-going. Rajni is in love with Raja and both plan to get married soon, but are also aware that Fakirchand expects a Dowry of at least Twenty Thousand Rupees. When Dhaniram finds out that Rajni has fallen in love with Raja, he goes to meet with Fakirchand, who insults and humiliates him. When Fakirchand finds out that Kamla wants to wed Kumar, he goes to Dhaniram, and he, in turn, gets humiliated. When Dhaniram finds out that Kumar loves Kamla, he approaches Fakirchand and apologizes, but Fakirchand insults him all the more so much so that Dhaniram forbids both Kumar and Rajni from seeing Kamla and Raja respectively. While at the other end a livid Fakirchand also forbids Kamla and Raja from seeing Kumar and Rajni respectively. By the looks of things only a miraculous intervention could bring the two foes together before acrimony spreads to the four lovebirds, who are also well on their way to avoid meeting each other at any and all costs.
