This is a 5 hrs. 10 min. documentary biography of Mohandas Mahatma Gandhi. All events and principles of Gandhi's life and thought are viewed as integrated parts of his truth-intoxicated life depicting permanent and universal values.
The purpose of the film is to tell the present and the future generations "that such a man as Gandhi in flesh and blood walked upon this earth", to acquaint them with his life and work and to spread his message of peace and universal brotherhood to the war-weary and fear-stricken world. The film brings together a mass of visual record not only of 78-year life of Gandhi but also of an important period of India's history.
The aim of the film being education and not entertainment, there is no attempt at dramatization of those exciting times. The story is told with an eye to truthful documentation of the main events within the limits of available documentary visual material...

Pooja Gandhi started her career by acting in soaps, starting with Zameen Se Aassman Tak directed by Aruna Irani. She made her debut in the Bengali film Tomake Salam, released in 2003. She moved to the South Indian film industry with the Tamil film Kokki, which did not show promising results at the box office. She entered the Kannada film industry with Mungaru Male, a film that became a big hit in Karnataka, and she popularly came to be known as Mungaru Male Hudugi ("Mungaru Male girl") Pooja Gandhi acted in the Kannada movie Krishna, opposite "Comedy Time" Ganesh, her co-actor in Mungaru Male. She has since acted in several Kannada films including Kodagana Koli Nungitha, Manmatha, Milana, Budhivanta, Huchchi, Taj Mahal and Honey Honey.

Gandhi is a 1982 biographical film based on the life of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, who led the nonviolent resistance movement against British colonial rule in India during the first half of the 20th century. The film was directed and produced by Sir Richard Attenborough and stars Ben Kingsley as Gandhi. They both won Academy Awards for their work on the film. The film was also given the Academy Award for Best Picture and won eight Academy Awards.
It was an international co-production between production companies in India and the UK. The film premiered in New Delhi on 30 November 1982.
The screenplay of Gandhi is available as a published book. The film opens with a statement from the filmmakers explaining their approach to the problem of filming Gandhi's complex life story:
The film begins with Gandhi's assassination on 30 January 1948, and his funeral. After an evening prayer, an elderly Gandhi is helped out for his evening walk to meet a large number of greeters and admirers. One of these visitors—Nathuram Godse—shoots him point blank in the chest. Gandhi exclaims, "Oh, God!" ("Hē Ram!" historically), and then falls dead. The film then cuts to a huge procession at his funeral, which is attended by dignitaries from around the world.

Pooja Gandhi (Kannada: ಪೂಜಾ ಗಾಂಧಿ), also known as Sanjana Gandhi, is an Indian actress predominantly working in the Kannada film industry but who also appears in Tamil and Amateur films. She went on to appear in commercially successful films like Mungaru Male, Taj Mahal, Budhivanta. She has also appeared in several music videos,short films thus establishing herself as a leading actress in both Kannada and Amateur Cinema
Pooja Gandhi was born in Paurath, Punjab, on October 11 in a traditional Punjabi family. Her father Pawan Gandhi is a businessman and her mother Jyothi Gandhi is a housewife. She studied at Sophia Convent and Dewan Public School in Meerut. She has two younger sisters, Radhika Gandhi, who is also working in Kannada films, and Suhani Gandhi, a tennis player.

Indira Priyadarshini Gandhi (Hindi: इंदिरा प्रियदर्शिनी गांधी Indirā Priyadarśinī Gāndhī 
listen (help·info), née Nehru; 19 November 1917 – 31 October 1984) was an Indian politician who served as the third Prime Minister of India for three consecutive terms (1966–77) and a fourth term (1980–84). Gandhi was the second female head of government in the world after Sirimavo Bandaranaike of Sri Lanka, and she remains as the world's second longest serving female Prime Minister as of 2012. She was the first woman to become prime minister in India.
Gandhi was the only child of Jawaharlal Nehru, the first prime minister of independent India. She adhered to the quasi-socialist policies of industrial development that had been begun by her father. Gandhi established closer relations with the Soviet Union, depending on that nation for support in India’s long-standing conflict with Pakistan. She was also the only Indian Prime Minister to have declared a state of emergency in order to 'rule by decree' and the only Indian Prime Minister to have been imprisoned after holding that office. She was assassinated by her Sikh bodyguards in retaliation for ordering Operation Blue Star.

Abhinetri – The Tragedy of a Legend released in 2015 India, directed by Satish Pradhan. It stars Pooja Gandhiin the lead role. The film is based on the life of actress Kalpana. The supporting cast features Makarand Deshpande, Srinagar Kitty, Atul Kulkarni, P. Ravi Shankar and Neethu.

Pooja Gandhi started her career by acting in soaps, starting with Zameen Se Aassman Tak directed by Aruna Irani. She made her debut in the Bengali film Tomake Salam, released in 2003. She moved to the South Indian film industry with the Tamil film Kokki, which did not show promising results at the box office. She entered the Kannada film industry with Mungaru Male, a film that became a big hit in Karnataka, and she popularly came to be known as Mungaru Male Hudugi ("Mungaru Male girl") Pooja Gandhi acted in the Kannada movie Krishna, opposite "Comedy Time" Ganesh, her co-actor in Mungaru Male. She has since acted in several Kannada films including Kodagana Koli Nungitha, Manmatha, Milana, Budhivanta, Huchchi, Taj Mahal and Honey Honey.

Pooja Gandhi started her career by acting in soaps, starting with Zameen Se Aassman Tak directed by Aruna Irani. She made her debut in the Bengali film Tomake Salam, released in 2003. She moved to the South Indian film industry with the Tamil film Kokki, which did not show promising results at the box office. She entered the Kannada film industry with Mungaru Male, a film that became a big hit in Karnataka, and she popularly came to be known as Mungaru Male Hudugi ("Mungaru Male girl") Pooja Gandhi acted in the Kannada movie Krishna, opposite "Comedy Time" Ganesh, her co-actor in Mungaru Male. She has since acted in several Kannada films including Kodagana Koli Nungitha, Manmatha, Milana, Budhivanta, Huchchi, Taj Mahal and Honey Honey.

Richard Attenboroughs Film beschreibt das Leben Gandhis - einer der größten Persönlichkeiten des 20. Jahrhunderts. Gandhi (Ben Kingsley) geht 1893 als Rechtsanwalt nach Südafrika, um die dort lebenden Inder gegen die strikten Apartheidsgesetze zu vereinen. Er praktiziert dort zum ersten Mal den passiven, gewaltlosen Widerstand, der später zum Kennzeichen seines Freiheitskampfes gegen die Briten wird. Ab 1915 lebt er dann wieder in Indien und verfolgt nur ein Ziel: Indiens Unabhängigkeit vom britischen Empire. Aber mehr als 30 mühsame Jahre vergehen, bis sein Traum wahr wird und Indien 1947 die Unabhängigkeit erhält.

Richard Attenboroughs Film beschreibt das Leben Gandhis - einer der größten Persönlichkeiten des 20. Jahrhunderts. Gandhi (Ben Kingsley) geht 1893 als Rechtsanwalt nach Südafrika, um die dort lebenden Inder gegen die strikten Apartheidsgesetze zu vereinen. Er praktiziert dort zum ersten Mal den passiven, gewaltlosen Widerstand, der später zum Kennzeichen seines Freiheitskampfes gegen die Briten wird. Ab 1915 lebt er dann wieder in Indien und verfolgt nur ein Ziel: Indiens Unabhängigkeit vom britischen Empire. Aber mehr als 30 mühsame Jahre vergehen, bis sein Traum wahr wird und Indien 1947 die Unabhängigkeit erhält.

The protagonist Preetam on a visit to Eva Mall amidst a heavy wind, spots a pretty girl, Nandini . While staring at her, he inadvertently falls into a manhole. Nandini rescues him from the pit, but in the process loses her heart-shaped watch she had just bought.
While accompanying his mother to Madikeri, Preetam confronts a man named Jaanu.Jaanu, who has been following Nandini, beats up Preetam thinking that he is in love with Nandini. Preetam, unaware that Jaanu has vowed not to allow any one near Nandini, trashes Jaanu and his gang in return.
In Madikeri, Preetam meets Nandini unexpectedly. He identifies himself and expresses his love towards her and offers to tie the watch as an indication for their marriage. Nandini, who is already engaged rejects his request. Still, Preetam vows to marry Nandini if she meets him again. In the meantime, Preetam discovers that his host in Madikeri, Col. Subbayya is Nandini's father, who is pretty much deaf, and Nandini's marriage is a just a week away. Dejected, Preetam throws Nandini's heart-shaped watch away. But Nandini calls him over the phone and taunts him to return. Delighted, Preetam goes in search of her watch and brings it back. Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi asserted that the Budget's "mere rhetoric", without vision or action, will fool neither farmers nor the poor of this country while former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said it was a "nit picking" Budget and there is "no big idea" in the annual exercise. Gandhi also took a jibe at the NDA government on MGNREGA spending, reminding it that it had "mocked" Congress earlier over the rural jobs scheme....
