The 1947 Roswell UFO Mystery has been a fascinating subject for many for a good few years.
In mid-1947, a United States Air Force balloon crashed at a ranch near Roswell, New Mexico, prompting claims that the crash was of an extraterrestrial spaceship.[1] Following wide initial interest, the military stated that the crash was merely of a conventional weather balloon.[2] Interest subsequently waned until the late 1970s, when ufologists began promoting a variety of increasingly elaborate conspiracy theories, claiming that one or more alien spacecraft had crash-landed, and that the extraterrestrial occupants had been recovered by the military, who then engaged in a cover-up.
In the 1990s, the US military published two reports disclosing the true nature of the crashed aircraft: a surveillance balloon from Project Mogul. Nevertheless, the Roswell incident continues to be of interest in popular media, and conspiracy theories surrounding the event persist. Roswell has been described as "the world's most famous, most exhaustively investigated, and most thoroughly debunked UFO claim"

This show looks into the 1974 UFO crash incident in Coyame, Chihuahua, Mexico, where the retrieval of crash material was subsequently suppressed by Mexican authorities.
The Coyame UFO incident was a reported mid-air collision between a UFO and a small airplane said to have taken place on August 25, 1974 near the town of Coyame, Chihuahua, close to the U.S.-Mexico border. Some conspiracy theorists believe the UFO was retrieved by a United States government rapid response team assembled by military and intelligence agencies.
On 24 August 1974, a U.S. air defense radar detected an unknown object in the Gulf of Mexico, traveling at some 4,000 km/hr and headed towards Corpus Christi, Texas. Suddenly the object changed direction and headed towards Coyame, Chihuahua, Mexico. At approximately the same time a small airplane took off from El Paso, Texas, headed towards Mexico City. The U.S. radar detected both, the UFO and the small plane, and monitored both for a while until their signals disappered simultaneously and at the same location over Mexico.
The Mexican government sent a team to recover the small plane and its passengers, while the U.S. continued to monitor the situation. The U.S. military offered its recovery expertise to the Mexican government, but the Mexican government declined. At the U.S. military radar air base, four Huey helicopters were readied up as well as a 15-man recovery team to head to Coyame, Mexico. The group entered Mexico surreptitiously after intercepting a Mexican radio communication giving away the location of the crash site.
Upon their arrival to the crash location in Mexico, the American group came across a strange metallic object in the shape of a disk and exhibiting what appeared to be frontal impact and noticeable wreckage, together with the burned remains of the small plane, a Cessna 180. A short distance from the wreckage was also an Olive green Jeep belonging to the Mexican military and containing the bodies of four Mexican soldiers. Their bodies displayed signs of death by asphyxiation. They were also in possession of their firearms, but showed no evidence of attempting to use them. One of the American Huey helicopters picked up the UFO and carried it some 15 kilometers, where an American convoy awaited to take it via rail to the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.
The whereabouts of the UFO are, to this day, unknown. As for the dead Mexican soldiers, the Mexican military denies that such incident ever took place. This, despite the overwhelming evidence presented in Mexican radial reports of the time and available at the general archives of radio communications of the Mexican military. The names and ranks of the Mexican soldiers are, to this day, officially denied by the Mexican government as well.

UFO crashed near Roswell, New Mexico, in June or July 1947. Since the late 1970s the incident has been the subject of intense controversy and the subject of conspiracy theories as to the true nature of the object that crashed.
The United States military maintains that what was actually recovered was debris from an experimental high-altitude surveillance balloon belonging to a classified program named "Mogul" however, many UFO proponents maintain that in fact a crashed alien craft and bodies were recovered, and that the military then engaged in a cover up.

Insiders reveal the recovered ship's windows were made of infrared technology. We now call this Night Vision.
4. The debris from the crash contained cables which carried light as a source of information from one end to another. Ufologists disclosed that scientists reverse engineered this technology, learning how to transmit information through the cables which we now know as Fiber Optics.
3. This wonder beam is used for vision correction, cosmetic surgery, scanning barcodes and many other tasks. This was a tool recovered from the Roswell crash, which emitted a beam, sharp and powerful enough to cut through objects, the Laser.
2. The actual occupants from the Roswell crash were found covered with cloth like fabric, which was indestructible in nature. After being studied, this fabric was later used to develop what we now commonly refer to as 'Bullet proof vests.'
1. Early computers used integrated circuits, weighing about 30 tons. However, by 1959 these huge circuits were shrunk to tiny chips. Microchips or integrated circuit boards are used in our smart phones, ovens, cars and almost everything we touch. Unidentified flying object
An unidentified flying object, or UFO, in its most general definition, is any apparent anomaly in the sky that is not identifiable as a known object or phenomenon. Culturally, UFOs are associated with claims of visitation by extraterrestrial life or government-related conspiracy theories, and have become popular subjects in fiction. While UFOs are often later identified, sometimes identification may not be possible owing to the usually low quality of evidence related to UFO sightings (generally anecdotal evidence and eyewitness accounts).
Stories of fantastical celestial apparitions have been told since antiquity, but the term "UFO" (or "UFOB") was officially created in 1953 by the United States Air Force (USAF) to serve as a catch-all for all such reports. In its initial definition, the USAF stated that a "UFOB" was "any airborne object which by performance, aerodynamic characteristics, or unusual features, does not conform to any presently known aircraft or missile type, or which cannot be positively identified as a familiar object." At the U.S. military radar air base, four Huey helicopters were readied up as well as a 15-man recovery team to head to Coyame, Mexico. The group entered Mexico surreptitiously after intercepting a Mexican radio communication giving away the location of the crash site. Upon their arrival to the crash location in Mexico, the American group came across a strange metallic object in the shape of a disk and exhibiting what appeared to be frontal impact and noticeable wreckage, together with the burned remains of the small plane, a Cessna 180. A short distance from the wreckage was also an Olive green Jeep belonging to the Mexican military and containing the bodies of four Mexican soldiers. Their bodies displayed signs of death by asphyxiation. They were also in possession of their firearms, but showed no evidence of attempting to use them. This show looks into the 1974 UFO crash incident in Coyame, Chihuahua, Mexico, where the retrieval of crash material was subsequently suppressed by Mexican authorities.
The Coyame UFO incident was a reported mid-air collision between a UFO and a small airplane said to have taken place on August 25, 1974 near the town of Coyame, Chihuahua, close to the U.S.-Mexico border. Some conspiracy theorists believe the UFO was retrieved by a United States government rapid response team assembled by military and intelligence agencies.
On 24 August 1974, a U.S. air defense radar detected an unknown object in the Gulf of Mexico, traveling at some 4,000 km/hr and headed towards Corpus Christi, Texas. Suddenly the object changed direction and headed towards Coyame, Chihuahua, Mexico. At approximately the same time a small airplane took off from El Paso, Texas, headed towards Mexico City. The U.S. radar detected both, the UFO and the small plane, and monitored both for a while until their signals disappered simultaneously and at the same location over Mexico.
The Mexican government sent a team to recover the small plane and its passengers, while the U.S. continued to monitor the situation. The U.S. military offered its recovery expertise to the Mexican government, but the Mexican government declined. At the U.S. military radar air base, four Huey helicopters were readied up as well as a 15-man recovery team to head to Coyame, Mexico. The group entered Mexico surreptitiously after intercepting a Mexican radio communication giving away the location of the crash site.
Upon their arrival to the crash location in Mexico, the American group came across a strange metallic object in the shape of a disk and exhibiting what appeared to be frontal impact and noticeable wreckage, together with the burned remains of the small plane, a Cessna 180. A short distance from the wreckage was also an Olive green Jeep belonging to the Mexican military and containing the bodies of four Mexican soldiers. Their bodies displayed signs of death by asphyxiation. They were also in possession of their firearms, but showed no evidence of attempting to use them. One of the American Huey helicopters picked up the UFO and carried it some 15 kilometers, where an American convoy awaited to take it via rail to the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.
The whereabouts of the UFO are, to this day, unknown. As for the dead Mexican soldiers, the Mexican military denies that such incident ever took place. This, despite the overwhelming evidence presented in Mexican radial reports of the time and available at the general archives of radio communications of the Mexican military. 2. The actual occupants from the Roswell crash were found covered with cloth like fabric, which was indestructible in nature. After being studied, this fabric was later used to develop what we now commonly refer to as 'Bullet proof vests.'

This show looks into the 1974 UFO crash incident in Coyame, Chihuahua, Mexico, where the retrieval of crash material was subsequently suppressed by Mexican authorities.
The Coyame UFO incident was a reported mid-air collision between a UFO and a small airplane said to have taken place on August 25, 1974 near the town of Coyame, Chihuahua, close to the U.S.-Mexico border. Some conspiracy theorists believe the UFO was retrieved by a United States government rapid response team assembled by military and intelligence agencies.
On 24 August 1974, a U.S. air defense radar detected an unknown object in the Gulf of Mexico, traveling at some 4,000 km/hr and headed towards Corpus Christi, Texas. Suddenly the object changed direction and headed towards Coyame, Chihuahua, Mexico. At approximately the same time a small airplane took off from El Paso, Texas, headed towards Mexico City. The U.S. radar detected both, the UFO and the small plane, and monitored both for a while until their signals disappered simultaneously and at the same location over Mexico.
The Mexican government sent a team to recover the small plane and its passengers, while the U.S. continued to monitor the situation. The U.S. military offered its recovery expertise to the Mexican government, but the Mexican government declined. At the U.S. military radar air base, four Huey helicopters were readied up as well as a 15-man recovery team to head to Coyame, Mexico. The group entered Mexico surreptitiously after intercepting a Mexican radio communication giving away the location of the crash site.
Upon their arrival to the crash location in Mexico, the American group came across a strange metallic object in the shape of a disk and exhibiting what appeared to be frontal impact and noticeable wreckage, together with the burned remains of the small plane, a Cessna 180. A short distance from the wreckage was also an Olive green Jeep belonging to the Mexican military and containing the bodies of four Mexican soldiers. Their bodies displayed signs of death by asphyxiation. They were also in possession of their firearms, but showed no evidence of attempting to use them. One of the American Huey helicopters picked up the UFO and carried it some 15 kilometers, where an American convoy awaited to take it via rail to the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.
The whereabouts of the UFO are, to this day, unknown. As for the dead Mexican soldiers, the Mexican military denies that such incident ever took place. This, despite the overwhelming evidence presented in Mexican radial reports of the time and available at the general archives of radio communications of the Mexican military. The names and ranks of the Mexican soldiers are, to this day, officially denied by the Mexican government as well.

5. A technology existing in unreliable form since the 1930's was replaced with a new version after the crash. Introduced in 1963, it used infra-red, instead of ambient light like its predecessors. Insiders reveal the recovered ship's windows were made of infrared technology. We now call this Night Vision.
4. The debris from the crash contained cables which carried light as a source of information from one end to another. Ufologists disclosed that scientists reverse engineered this technology, learning how to transmit information through the cables which we now know as Fiber Optics.
3. This wonder beam is used for vision correction, cosmetic surgery, scanning barcodes and many other tasks. This was a tool recovered from the Roswell crash, which emitted a beam, sharp and powerful enough to cut through objects, the Laser.
2. The actual occupants from the Roswell crash were found covered with cloth like fabric, which was indestructible in nature. After being studied, this fabric was later used to develop what we now commonly refer to as 'Bullet proof vests.'

The Coyame UFO incident was a reported mid-air collision between a UFO and a small airplane said to have taken place on August 25, 1974 near the town of Coyame, Chihuahua, close to the U.S.-Mexico border. Some conspiracy theorists believe the UFO was retrieved by a United States government rapid response team assembled by military and intelligence agencies.
On 24 August 1974, a U.S. air defense radar detected an unknown object in the Gulf of Mexico, traveling at some 4,000 km/hr and headed towards Corpus Christi, Texas. Suddenly the object changed direction and headed towards Coyame, Chihuahua, Mexico. At approximately the same time a small airplane took off from El Paso, Texas, headed towards Mexico City. The U.S. radar detected both, the UFO and the small plane, and monitored both for a while until their signals disappered simultaneously and at the same location over Mexico.
The Mexican government sent a team to recover the small plane and its passengers, while the U.S. continued to monitor the situation. The U.S. military offered its recovery expertise to the Mexican government, but the Mexican government declined. At the U.S. military radar air base, four Huey helicopters were readied up as well as a 15-man recovery team to head to Coyame, Mexico. The group entered Mexico surreptitiously after intercepting a Mexican radio communication giving away the location of the crash site.
Upon their arrival to the crash location in Mexico, the American group came across a strange metallic object in the shape of a disk and exhibiting what appeared to be frontal impact and noticeable wreckage, together with the burned remains of the small plane, a Cessna 180. A short distance from the wreckage was also an Olive green Jeep belonging to the Mexican military and containing the bodies of four Mexican soldiers. Their bodies displayed signs of death by asphyxiation. They were also in possession of their firearms, but showed no evidence of attempting to use them. One of the American Huey helicopters picked up the UFO and carried it some 15 kilometers, where an American convoy awaited to take it via rail to the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.
The whereabouts of the UFO are, to this day, unknown. As for the dead Mexican soldiers, the Mexican military denies that such incident ever took place. This, despite the overwhelming evidence presented in Mexican radial reports of the time and available at the general archives of radio communications of the Mexican military. The names and ranks of the Mexican soldiers are, to this day, officially denied by the Mexican government as well.

According to much widely held public opinion, the United States government successfully recovered the remains of a crashed UFO along with its extraterrestrial occupants near Roswell, New Mexico, in July 1947. In what is now known as the “the Roswell incident,” the U.S. military is said to have quickly covered up the affair and continues to shroud it in extreme secrecy even today.
If these events surrounding Roswell in the summer of 1947 actually took place, as have been claimed in several books on the subject and by numerous UFO researchers, it would certainly constitute the story of the millennium and be the greatest government-sponsored coverup of all time. Indeed, should irrefutable evidence ever surface that any government on this earth possessed the physical remains of either an extraterrestrial spacecraft or its occupants, it is an understatement to say that such a revelation would fundamentally transform humanity as we know it.
What does one do with the numerous claims about Roswell that have surfaced over the years? How does one begin to determine the truth about what really happened in 1947 and sort the fact from the fiction?
The Roswell incident, and all that surrounds it, is a complex web of events, not easily understandable nor explainable until examined fully and in painstaking detail. In my new book, The Roswell UFO Crash: What They Don't Want You to Know (Prometheus Books 1997), I undertake such a dissection. The book presents the results of some sixteen years of research and, for all practical purposes, leaves no stone unturned. The Roswell “mystery” has been solved, and there is no credible evidence that the remains of an extraterrestrial spacecraft was involved.
The Original Roswell Event
For non—UFO buffs, the Roswell incident effectively began after the Fourth of July holiday weekend in 1947 when a rancher named William “Mac” Brazel reported to the local sheriff, George Wilcox, that he might have recovered the remains of “one of them flying saucers.” Wilcox, according to various accounts, then contacted military authorities at nearby Roswell Army Air Field, where Major Jesse Marcel was assigned to investigate.
Marcel and two Counter Intelligence Corps agents, Sheridan Cavitt and Lewis Rickett, drove out to the ranch where Brazel worked to examine and collect the wreckage. On July 8, 1947, the public information office at Roswell AAF made the startling announcement that they had recovered the remains of a “flying disc.”
However, by the next day the excitement was over. Brigadier General Roger Ramey, who had ordered the wreckage sent to him for examination at Carswell Air Force Base (also known as Fort Worth), held a press conference, with Major Marcel present, and announced that all the hoopla had been over a mistaken weather balloon, and nothing more.
With Ramey’s deflating announcement, the Roswell “flying saucer” story was effectively dead and would remain so for decades. Then, in 1978, UFO researcher Stanton Friedman happened to meet Marcel. Because Marcel dredged up his recovered-saucer story, and Friedman thought he had at last found a “star” witness who could blow open the U.S. government’s alleged coverup of crashed saucers and pickled aliens, the Roswell myth began anew, with Friedman as its most vocal (and visible) champion.
“Hundreds of Witnesses”
In the pro-UFO community, much fanfare has been made over the years about the “dozens” or even “hundreds of eyewitnesses” to the alleged UFO crash near Roswell.
If the near-holy reverence for the number of alleged witnesses surrounding the Roswell affair were limited to just the UFO buffs who have conducted no direct research of their own, this situation might be understandable. However, this is not the case, for the authors of numerous Roswell books play the numbers game as well.
In the pro-UFO book The Truth About the UFO Crash at Roswell, Kevin Randle and Donald Schmitt note the fact that Bill Moore, coauthor of The Roswell Incident (1980), interviewed “more then seventy witnesses who had some knowledge of the [Roswell UFO crash] event.” Indeed, both Friedman and Moore, around the time of the initial publication of The Roswell Incident, boasted that they had interviewed more than “ninety witnesses.”
While these double-digit figures are certainly accurate, the presentation of such a seemingly impressive number of witnesses by themselves, without qualification, is misleading. The relevant issue is not how many witnesses were interviewed, but rather what type of witnesses (i.e., firsthand, secondhand), and how truthful and accurate their statements were.

For non—UFO buffs, the Roswell incident effectively began after the Fourth of July holiday weekend in 1947 when a rancher named William “Mac” Brazel reported to the local sheriff, George Wilcox, that he might have recovered the remains of “one of them flying saucers.” Wilcox, according to various accounts, then contacted military authorities at nearby Roswell Army Air Field, where Major Jesse Marcel was assigned to investigate.
Marcel and two Counter Intelligence Corps agents, Sheridan Cavitt and Lewis Rickett, drove out to the ranch where Brazel worked to examine and collect the wreckage. On July 8, 1947, the public information office at Roswell AAF made the startling announcement that they had recovered the remains of a “flying disc.”
However, by the next day the excitement was over. Brigadier General Roger Ramey, who had ordered the wreckage sent to him for examination at Carswell Air Force Base (also known as Fort Worth), held a press conference, with Major Marcel present, and announced that all the hoopla had been over a mistaken weather balloon, and nothing more.
With Ramey’s deflating announcement, the Roswell “flying saucer” story was effectively dead and would remain so for decades. Then, in 1978, UFO researcher Stanton Friedman happened to meet Marcel. Because Marcel dredged up his recovered-saucer story, and Friedman thought he had at last found a “star” witness who could blow open the U.S. government’s alleged coverup of crashed saucers and pickled aliens, the Roswell myth began anew, with Friedman as its most vocal (and visible) champion.
“Hundreds of Witnesses”
In the pro-UFO community, much fanfare has been made over the years about the “dozens” or even “hundreds of eyewitnesses” to the alleged UFO crash near Roswell.
If the near-holy reverence for the number of alleged witnesses surrounding the Roswell affair were limited to just the UFO buffs who have conducted no direct research of their own, this situation might be understandable. However, this is not the case, for the authors of numerous Roswell books play the numbers game as well.
In the pro-UFO book The Truth About the UFO Crash at Roswell, Kevin Randle and Donald Schmitt note the fact that Bill Moore, coauthor of The Roswell Incident (1980), interviewed “more then seventy witnesses who had some knowledge of the [Roswell UFO crash] event.” Indeed, both Friedman and Moore, around the time of the initial publication of The Roswell Incident, boasted that they had interviewed more than “ninety witnesses.”
While these double-digit figures are certainly accurate, the presentation of such a seemingly impressive number of witnesses by themselves, without qualification, is misleading. The relevant issue is not how many witnesses were interviewed, but rather what type of witnesses (i.e., firsthand, secondhand), and how truthful and accurate their statements were.

According to UFOlogists, local residents reported a mid-air collision between a UFO and a small airplane near the town of Coyame on August 25, 1974 followed by a military investigation and cover up. However historians say that such "UFO reports" were likely prompted by the 1974 crash and military recovery of a Cessna aircraft involved in drug trafficking.
In Coyame, Mexico, 1974, in the State of Chihuahua, an unidentified flying object (UFO) collided with a small plane. Both the U.S. government and the Mexican government responded to the crash. The series of events that followed would stay buried until the early 2000s when Mexico became a hotspot for UFO sightings and investigators flocked there, uncovering even more bizarre stories.
Another version:
On Aug. 25, 1974, a small plane lifted off from El Paso, Texas, heading toward Mexico City.
While the small civilian plane continued on its heading, U.S. Air Defense Radar was tracking a UFO heading over the Gulf of Mexico towards Corpus Christi, Texas; this was at approximately 10:07 p.m. Traveling faster than 2,000 mph, the authorities assumed it was a meteor. But that changed when the object suddenly changed course.
The object slowed and descended with a new heading towards Coyame, a peaceful desert town about 40 miles south of the U.S. border with a population of only about 2,500, and eventually the object disappeared from radar screens. Nearly an hour later, a civilian radio station announced an aircraft had crashed near Coyame.
The next morning, Mexican authorities began a search and recovery of the downed civilian plane. At approximately 10:35 a.m., Mexican recovery teams spotted the wreckage from the air. Mexican authorities then announced another crash site just a few miles away. Moments later, the authorities issued a radio silence on the search. U.S. authorities offered assistance to help clean up and recover. The offer was declined.
Despite the refusal, Fort Bliss on the American side of the border, near El Paso, was assembling a recovery team and continued to monitor Mexican recover efforts via air surveillance. These events and those that follow were pieced together by researchers Noe Torres and Ruben Uriarte in their book “Mexico’s Roswell.”
Torres and Uriarte had as their primary source a mysterious document titled the “Deneb Report,” which was anonymously sent to UFO researchers in the 1990s. Other sources include eye-witness accounts from local residents who saw the mid-air collision. The authors also received an anonymous post on their Wikipedia page giving the names and serial numbers of some Mexican soldiers and some U.S. officials allegedly involved in the incident. The authors are in the process of following up on these leads, which they say have proved promising thus far, though they are unwilling to release the names yet they said during a “Podcast UFO” interview in June.

On Friday, March 5, Mexican Air Force pilots using infrared equipment to search for drug-smuggling aircraft recorded 11 unidentified objects over southern Campeche. Mexico’s Defense Department issued a press release on May 12 accompanied by videotape that showed moving bright lights at 11,500 feet. Mexican UFOlogist Jaime Maussan interpreted the videotape as "proof of alien visitation", however science writer and skeptic Michael Shermer was critical of witness accounts that "varied wildly", saying "it was like a fisherman’s tale, growing with each retelling”, while other experts suggested the lights were most likely burn off flares from oil platforms.

A few hours after the initial "flying disk" press release, U.S. Army Air Force officials stated that it was not a UFO, but a weather balloon. When the question of what crashed was revived in the early 1980s, the "Roswell Incident" became a focus of conspiracy theorists, "abductees," and UFO investigators. It is believed the crashed UFO's were used for reverse engineering, explaining the rapid advancement in technology since that time.
