Aleksandar Vučić (Serbian Cyrillic: Александар Вучић, pronounced [aleksǎːndar ʋǔt͡ʃit͡ɕ], born 5 March 1970) is a Serbian politician who has been the Prime Minister of Serbia since 27 April 2014. He is also the leader and president of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS). Vučić served as Minister of Information from 1998 to 2000 and later as Minister of Defence from 2012 to 2013, as well as First Deputy Prime Minister from 2012-14. He is a graduate of the Belgrade Law School.
Aleksandar Vučić was born in the family of Anđelko and Angelina (née Milovanov) in Belgrade. His paternal family hails from Čipuljići near Bugojno in central Bosnia, from whence they were expelled by the Croatian fascist Ustaše, settling near Belgrade where his father Anđelko was born. Vučić's paternal grandfather Anđelko, and tens of other close relatives were killed by the Ustaše. His mother was born in Bečej in Vojvodina. Both of his parents were economics graduates; his father worked as an economist, his mother as a journalist.

Speaking for BBC late on Wednesday, he added that "Europe should say what this comprehensive, common solution is." Asked what would happen if Germany at some point closed its border, which would mean a build-up of migrants in Serbia, Vucic said: "We work closely with Germany and other European countries, we will do what is a European decision. If they tell us that borders are being closed we will close them, even though I do not think this is the best solution. But, if they say that this is the best solution and a common European solution, we will do so. We just need to hear what it is the comprehensive, common European solution." Vucic noted that he on several occasions in Brussels spoke with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and other European leaders about the problem of migrants. ...
Premijer Srbije Aleksandar Vučić izjavio je da se ne meša u rad medija i da se njegova vlada ozbiljno bavi pitanjem slobode medija. "Ne radim to (mešanje u rad medija) i ne plašim se konkurencije, ali mi je lako to pripisati. Bio sam ministar informisanja pre 15 godina, najgluplji na svetu. I lako mi je to pripisati", rekao je Vučić. On je rekao da Srbija usvojila tri nova zakona o medijima koje je odobrila ne samo Evropska komisija, već i Venecijasnka komsija.
