Il Postino (El Cartero y Pablo Neruda) 1994
“Il postino”, una película que habla de poetas y poesía, y que es, en sí misma, un verdadero poema.
Este film, también conocido como “El cartero”, “El cartero de Neruda” o "El cartero y Pablo Neruda" se estrenó en 1994, dirigido por Michael Radford y protagonizado por Philippe Noiret, Massimo Troisi y Maria Grazia Cucinotta.
“Il postino” es una adaptación de la novela “Ardiente paciencia” de Antonio Skármeta (Aquí también podrán disfrutar de esta novela en audio), quien ya la había llevado al cine en 1983 con el mismo título original. En la novela y la película original, Neruda se encuentra en Isla Negra (Chile) alrededor de 1970, sin embargo, en “Il Postino” se traslada la acción a la Isla Salina en Italia, durante los años 50.
La cinta ha sido galardonada con más de 25 premios internacionales, incluyendo el Premio David di Donatello al mejor montaje (1994), Premios BAFTA a la mejor película de habla no inglesa, mejor dirección y mejor música (1995), Premio Cóndor de Plata a la mejor película extranjera y un Premio Oscar a la mejor banda sonora.
Resulta difícil redactar un artículo que sólo haga referencia a las escenas o ambientación de esta película, porque es tan conmovedora y maravillosa, que a pesar de que su rodaje se realizó en lugares no menos bellos de Italia, terminaríamos por ser injustos con ella. Además, a su propio final dramático, se sumó el final trágico de la muerte de Massimo Troisi, su protagonista principal encarnando el papel de Mario Roúpolo, quien fallece apenas veinticuatro horas después de finalizado el rodaje, el 4 de junio de 1994, víctima de una enfermedad cardíaca que padecía desde hacía tiempo, de la que había pospuesto una cirugía hasta terminar la filmación.

Sinopsis
Mario (Massimo Troisi) es un hombre sencillo que acepta un empleo de cartero. Su trabajo consiste en llevar el correo a un único destinatario, el poeta chileno Pablo Neruda (Philippe Noiret), que vive exiliado en el pequeño pueblo italiano. Mario se siente fascinado por la figura de Neruda, y entre los dos hombres irá creciendo una gran amistad.

Pablo Neruda, de nacimiento Ricardo Eliécer Neftalí Reyes Basoalto (Parral, 12 de julio de 1904 -- Santiago, 23 de septiembre de 1973), fue un poeta chileno, considerado entre los mejores y más influyentes artistas de su siglo; «el más grande poeta del siglo XX en cualquier idioma», según Gabriel García Márquez. También fue un destacado activista político, senador, miembro del Comité Central del Partido Comunista.
En 1924 publicó su famoso Veinte poemas de amor y una canción desesperada, en el que todavía se nota una influencia del modernismo.
El 21 de octubre de 1971 le es concedido el Premio Nobel de Literatura y viaja a Estocolmo a recibirlo el 10 de diciembre.

Pablo Neruda (July 12, 1904 – September 23, 1973) was the pen name and, later, legal name of the Chilean poet, diplomat and politician Neftalí Ricardo Reyes Basoalto. He chose his pen name after Czech poet Jan Neruda.
Neruda became known as a poet while still a teenager. He wrote in a variety of styles including surrealist poems, historical epics, overtly political manifestos, a prose autobiography, and erotically-charged love poems such as the ones in his 1924 collection Twenty Love Poems and a Song of Despair. In 1971 Neruda won the Nobel Prize for Literature. Colombian novelist Gabriel García Márquez once called him "the greatest poet of the 20th century in any language." Neruda always wrote in green ink as it was his personal colour of hope.
On July 15, 1945, at Pacaembu Stadium in São Paulo, Brazil, he read to 100,000 people in honor of Communist revolutionary leader Luís Carlos Prestes. During his lifetime, Neruda occupied many diplomatic positions and served a stint as a senator for the Chilean Communist Party. When Chilean President González Videla outlawed communism in Chile in 1948, a warrant was issued for Neruda's arrest. Friends hid him for months in a house basement in the Chilean port of Valparaíso. Later, Neruda escaped into exile through a mountain pass near Maihue Lake into Argentina. Years later, Neruda was a close collaborator to socialist President Salvador Allende. When Neruda returned to Chile after his Nobel Prize acceptance speech, Allende invited him to read at the Estadio Nacional before 70,000 people.

Plot: Pablo Neruda, the famous Chilean poet, is exiled to a small island for political reasons. On the island, the unemployed son of a poor fisherman is hired as an extra postman due to the huge increase in mail that this causes. Il Postino is to hand-deliver the celebrity's mail to him. Though poorly educated, the postman learns to love poetry and eventually befriends Neruda. Il Postino (El Cartero y Pablo Neruda) 1994 “Il postino”, una película que habla de poetas y poesía, y que es, en sí misma, un verdadero poema. Este film, también conocido como “El cartero”, “El cartero de Neruda” o "El cartero y Pablo Neruda" se estrenó en 1994, dirigido por Michael Radford y protagonizado por Philippe Noiret, Massimo Troisi y Maria Grazia Cucinotta. “Il postino” es una adaptación de la novela “Ardiente paciencia” de Antonio Skármeta (Aquí también podrán disfrutar de esta novela en audio), quien ya la había llevado al cine en 1983 con el mismo título original. En la novela y la película original, Neruda se encuentra en Isla Negra (Chile) alrededor de 1970, sin embargo, en “Il Postino” se traslada la acción a la Isla Salina en Italia, durante los años 50. También fue un destacado activista político, senador, miembro del Comité Central del Partido Comunista. En 1924 publicó su famoso Veinte poemas de amor y una canción desesperada, en el que todavía se nota una influencia del modernismo. El 21 de octubre de 1971 le es concedido el Premio Nobel de Literatura y viaja a Estocolmo a recibirlo el 10 de diciembre. -

Il Postino (El Cartero y Pablo Neruda) 1994
“Il postino”, una película que habla de poetas y poesía, y que es, en sí misma, un verdadero poema.
Este film, también conocido como “El cartero”, “El cartero de Neruda” o "El cartero y Pablo Neruda" se estrenó en 1994, dirigido por Michael Radford y protagonizado por Philippe Noiret, Massimo Troisi y Maria Grazia Cucinotta.
“Il postino” es una adaptación de la novela “Ardiente paciencia” de Antonio Skármeta (Aquí también podrán disfrutar de esta novela en audio), quien ya la había llevado al cine en 1983 con el mismo título original. En la novela y la película original, Neruda se encuentra en Isla Negra (Chile) alrededor de 1970, sin embargo, en “Il Postino” se traslada la acción a la Isla Salina en Italia, durante los años 50.
La cinta ha sido galardonada con más de 25 premios internacionales, incluyendo el Premio David di Donatello al mejor montaje (1994), Premios BAFTA a la mejor película de habla no inglesa, mejor dirección y mejor música (1995), Premio Cóndor de Plata a la mejor película extranjera y un Premio Oscar a la mejor banda sonora.
Resulta difícil redactar un artículo que sólo haga referencia a las escenas o ambientación de esta película, porque es tan conmovedora y maravillosa, que a pesar de que su rodaje se realizó en lugares no menos bellos de Italia, terminaríamos por ser injustos con ella. Además, a su propio final dramático, se sumó el final trágico de la muerte de Massimo Troisi, su protagonista principal encarnando el papel de Mario Roúpolo, quien fallece apenas veinticuatro horas después de finalizado el rodaje, el 4 de junio de 1994, víctima de una enfermedad cardíaca que padecía desde hacía tiempo, de la que había pospuesto una cirugía hasta terminar la filmación.

Sinopsis
Mario (Massimo Troisi) es un hombre sencillo que acepta un empleo de cartero. Pablo Neruda est-il mort d'un cancer ou a-t-il été assassiné par la dictature chilienne en 1973 alors qu'il s'apprêtait à s'exiler au Mexique ? Quarante ans après le décès du poète, auteur notamment de Vingt poèmes d'amour et une chanson désespérée, la justice chilienne tente de résoudre l'énigme. La dépouille de l'écrivain, enterrée à Isla Negra (île Noire), village côtier où se trouve la maison-musée Neruda, a été exhumée ce lundi par une équipe d'experts. Les autorités de Santiago poursuivent ainsi leur travail de mémoire sur les "années noires", après avoir enquêté sur la mort douteuse du président Salvador Allende, dont la thèse du suicide a finalement été confirmée en 2011.
Officiellement, Pablo Neruda est mort douze jours après le coup d'État militaire d'Augusto Pinochet, le 23 septembre 1973, à 69 ans, des suites d'un cancer de la prostate. Pourtant, la version a été contestée par Manuel Araya, ancien chauffeur et assistant du Prix Nobel de la littérature. En 2011, dans une interview au magazine mexicain Proceso, Manuel Araya affirme que Pablo Neruda allait s'exiler au Mexique, à la suite du coup d'État militaire du 11 septembre 1973. Le poète aurait alors fait croire que son état de santé était particulièrement grave afin d'être transporté en ambulance dans une clinique de la capitale Santiago, pour y faire escale avant de fuir. Pablo Neruda ne foulera jamais le sol mexicain. Selon Manuel Araya, les militaires ont pénétré discrètement dans sa chambre d'hôpital et lui ont injecté un liquide mortel dans l'estomac. Démentie par la Fondation Neruda, la version a néanmoins poussé le Parti communiste chilien, dont fut membre le poète, à porter plainte en 2011. L'exhumation des restes du poète doit aujourd'hui permettre d'en savoir plus.

Monument de la littérature latino-américaine, auteur La centaine d'amour et L'Espagne au coeur, Pablo Neruda était très attaché à la France. Diplomate et écrivain, comme Romain Gary, il a été consul spécial pour l'immigration espagnole à Paris, en 1939. À ce titre, il affrète un bateau, le Winnipeg, pour aider deux mille réfugiés espagnols à fuir la guerre civile en ralliant le Chili. Puis il retourne en France comme ambassadeur chilien à Paris en 1970, après l'élection de son ami, le chef d'État socialiste Salvador Allende. Il y publie L'épée en flammes et Les pierres du ciel, deux livres qui reflètent bien sa plume incisive et sa conception de la solidarité.
En 1971, il reçoit le prix Nobel de la littérature des mains du roi de Suède. Il raille dans ses mémoires "l'ancien monarque [qui] nous donna la main, nous remit le diplôme, la médaille et le chèque. On dit que le roi passa plus de temps avec moi qu'avec les autres lauréats, qu'il me serra la main avec une sympathie emphatique. C'est peut-être la réminiscence de la gentillesse antique du palais envers les ménestrels."
Pablo Neruda avait démissionné en février 1973 de son poste d'ambassadeur à Paris pour des raisons de santé. La justice lèvera bientôt le voile sur les circonstances de la mort du poète.

“Everything is ceremony in the wild garden of childhood” (Pablo Neruda). It’s the early 1950s and little Franzi is growing up in the small Austrian town of Judenburg. Her oppressive family home is dominated by her feverish and mentally ill father, who is rigid and unpredictable. Her father, who regularly delivers halves of pork for the butcher, spent several years in the French Foreign Legion in Morocco, Algeria and Syria – a period which he partly glorifies but which still also haunts him. Franzi immerses herself into this world by looking at an abundance of beguiling yet disturbing photographs taken at the time by her father. Her own childish fantasy realm of fairy tales and picture books soon intermingle with nightmares as reality merges with imagination, war, horror and beauty. Decades later, Franziska, now a successful photographer but still overshadowed by her father’s memory, undertakes a journey back into his youth. She wants to understand his war trauma and shed light on her family’s past. But it soon transpires that her search for the truth has ambivalent consequences.
Elfi Mikesch
Elif Mikesch, born in Austria, works as photographer and dricetor. In 1984 she founded her own intependent production company, Hyena Films. She has been being a member of the Academy of Arts since 1991. 'Fever' (2013) won the Special Teddy Award at the 2014 Berlinale.

Her father, who regularly delivers halves of pork for the butcher, spent several years in the French Foreign Legion in Morocco, Algeria and Syria – a period which he partly glorifies but which still also haunts him. Franzi immerses herself into this world by looking at an abundance of beguiling yet disturbing photographs taken at the time by her father. Her own childish fantasy realm of fairy tales and picture books soon intermingle with nightmares as reality merges with imagination, war, horror and beauty. Decades later, Franziska, now a successful photographer but still overshadowed by her father’s memory, undertakes a journey back into his youth. She wants to understand his war trauma and shed light on her family’s past. But it soon transpires that her search for the truth has ambivalent consequences.

Elif Mikesch, born in Austria, works as photographer and dricetor. In 1984 she founded her own intependent production company, Hyena Films. She has been being a member of the Academy of Arts since 1991. 'Fever' (2013) won the Special Teddy Award at the 2014 Berlinale.
