Robert Downey Jr Talks Captain America 3 Civil War Subscribe Now! ► http://bit.ly/SubClevverMovies We’re less than three months away from the culmination of Marvel’s Phase 2 when Avengers: Age of Ultron hits theaters and as per usual, Tony Stark himself, Robert Downey Jr. is already looking passed that and toward the future where a bigger conflict is brewing with Captain America. In an interview with Empire Magazine, Downey Jr. dropped a bit of “genius, playboy, billionaire, philanthropist” knowledge on us sharing tidbits about Tony’s mentality in Age of Ultron and how seeds in the film will be planted for a future throw down with Captain America in next summer’s Captain America : Civil War and how many of those seeds may have already been planted previously. First thing’s first, Downey isn’t afraid to admit that he and the Marvel team have sat around pondering how certain “Iron Man” elements have worked and certain ones haven’t. While the star and crew can think about it all day, Downey ultimately thinks that Iron Man’s rocky sequels can be redeemed by Avengers mastermind, Joss Whedon. Downey says Whedon places the most pressure upon himself to deliver and that ultimately resulted in the director having much more fun with Age of Ultron while at the same time holding the film to a higher standard. And what is that “higher standard”? We’ll have to wait and judge for ourselves, but for Downey it lies in the moral psychology of his character, with the actor telling Empire that Tony’s mental and spiritual evolution through the past few films is what’s elevating his performance and ultimately, the story telling. By the way, Downey says all of Tony’s motivation can be drawn back to his relationship with Pepper and wanting to protect her and spend time with her. Seems like the theme that was explored in Iron Man 3 will result in Tony pushing even harder to protect his home life and it’s those seeds in Tony’s personal life and applying that experience to the Avengers that leads him to create Ultron and eventually, creates tension with Cap. And we know now that Tony Stark creates Ultron out of a combination of necessity and his constant need to create and push things forward. The necessity here comes from the whole world knowing what happened in New York in The Avengers. Now, the team is the world’s police, but they can’t do it all on their own, especially with the collateral damage being created, hence Tony creates Ultron to relieve the tension. Downey says director Joss Whedon makes sure the audience can see Tony’s position of “what would you do?” Something Downey says is a constant theme of the film. Another constant will be Captain America’s ever-growing disapproval of Tony’s actions. Both Tony’s shift in persona, the change in political climate, and where Cap stands in all of it is promised by Downey to be clearly alluded to throughout Avengers 2 and will ultimately result in Iron Man’s inclusion in the “Civil War” storyline. But don’t think that film is going to be Iron Man 4. It is called Captain America: Civil War after all and Downey would agree saying quote, "Ultimately it’s Steve’s story…I think Chris [Evans] has been hungry to bring even more of an underside and some shadow to that…What’s the bigger issue? It can have a little something to do with the past, but it can be about someone becoming more modernized in their own conflict.” So while Tony Stark will be having personal exploration in Ultron, it sounds like it’s going to coincide with Steve Rogers’ own personal journey and both of these have been building for some time in the previous films. But we’ll have to wait until Avengers: Age of Ultron hits theaters on May 1st to see the bro-down come to a culmination and even longer until the following May to see them actually go at it in Captain America: Civil War, but are you excited to see how the Civil War seeds will be planted in Age of Ultron? Avengers & X-Men: Axis pt.9 - The Final Inversion

Using the Red Skull's telepathy, Steve managed to distract Sam for long enough to escape. After Captain America's failure to get Rogers and the Skull, the AXIS set out to the Avengers Mansion after having defeated the inverted X-Men. As he was recovering from his defeat, Apocalypse is confronted by Zenpool and is convinced to fight against the AXIS. On the Moon, Loki was being chased by Thor Odinson around the Blue Area. Loki soon came across Mjolnir which had been left there since Thor became unworthy. He picked up the hammer and started fighting Thor Odinson with the power of Thor. Back to the Avengers Mansion, Steve Rogers and Red Skull are attacked by the AXIS right after arriving. Before Captain America could beat Steve Rogers to death, Apocalypse appeared and fought the AXIS while Red Skull was taken out of the location. The rest of the AXIS still managed to catch up with them, but were confronted by Spider-Man and Sabretooth while Steve Rogers tried to get Red Skull to a Quinjet which was soon taken down by Iron Man. Iron Man was about to kill the Red Skull when Doctor Doom, Scarlet Witch (who was possessed by Daniel Drumm), Magneto, Doctor Voodoo, and Quicksilver arrived. After Iron Man was incapacitated, Doctor Doom, Daniel in Scarlet Witch's body, and Red Skull began a reinversion spell. Unwilling to return to his regular self, Iron Man activated a shielding to protect himself from the reinversion as well as accidentally shielding Havok and Sabretooth. The reinversion was successful and every person affected by the inversion except the three aforementioned. After the spell, the still-inverted Havok used the Wasp as a leverage to escape. Magneto soon realized that due to the distraction, Iron Man, Doctor Doom, and the Red Skull had escaped.

A battle with Ultron leaves the Avengers defeated, as most of the heroes were killed during the fight, and the world at the mercy of Ultron's machine army. Captain America tells Iron Man to take the Avengers' children to a fortified refuge hidden above the Arctic Circle so they'll be safe from Ultron. The children are James Rogers, the son of Black Widow and Captain America; Henry Pym Jr., the son of Giant-Man and Wasp; Azari, the son of Black Panther and Storm; and Torunn, the daughter of the absent Thor and Sif. Stark secretly raises and trains the children for over twelve years. One day, The Vision arrives at the refuge after hiding for over a decade from Ultron. He has come to inform Stark that Clint Barton's son is alive. While the curious children are eavesdropping on Stark and the Vision, James accidentally activates a series of Iron Man-style robots, called the Iron Avengers, that mimic the looks and abilities of Captain America, Hawkeye, Black Panther, Thor, Black Widow and Giant Man. Because they are programmed to defeat Ultron upon activation, they take off to do so, whereupon they are detected by Ultron's worldwide sensors, revealing the location of the refuge. Ultron then reprograms the Iron Avenger robots to follow his commands, proceeds to the refuge and invades it. Stark, now suited up as Iron Man, stalls Ultron long enough for the children to escape on the Quinjet, but he is eventually subdued and captured.

In the Eastern European country of Sokovia, the Avengers – Tony Stark, Steve Rogers, Thor, Bruce Banner, Natasha Romanoff, and Clint Barton – raid a Hydra outpost led by Baron Wolfgang von Strucker, who has been experimenting on humans using the scepter previously wielded by Loki. They encounter two of Strucker's experiments – twins Pietro, who has superhuman speed, and Wanda Maximoff, who can manipulate minds and project energy – and apprehend Strucker, while Stark retrieves Loki's scepter. Stark and Banner discover an artificial intelligence within the scepter's gem, and secretly use it to complete Stark's "Ultron" global defense program. The unexpectedly sentient Ultron, believing he must eradicate humanity to save Earth, eliminates Stark's A.I., J.A.R.V.I.S., and attacks the Avengers at their headquarters. Escaping with the scepter, Ultron uses the resources in Strucker's Sokovia base to upgrade his rudimentary body and build an army of robot drones. Having killed Strucker, he recruits the Maximoffs, who hold Stark responsible for their parents' deaths by his weapons. Together, they go to the base of arms dealer Ulysses Klaue in an African shipyard to obtain vibranium. The Avengers pursue them, but Wanda subdues the heroes with haunting visions, causing the Hulk to rampage until Stark stops him with his anti-Hulk armor.2 A worldwide backlash over the resulting destruction, and the fears Wanda's hallucinations incited, send the team into hiding at Barton's safehouse. Thor departs to consult with Dr. Erik Selvig on the meaning of the apocalyptic future he saw in his hallucination, while Romanoff and Banner plan to flee together after realizing a mutual attraction. However, Nick Fury arrives and encourages the team to form a plan to stop Ultron. In Seoul, Ultron forces the team's friend Dr. Helen Cho to use her synthetic tissue technology, vibranium, and the scepter's gem to perfect a new body for him. As Ultron uploads himself into the body, Wanda is able to read his mind; discovering his plan for human extinction, the Maximoffs turn on Ultron. Rogers, Romanoff, and Barton find Ultron and retrieve the synthetic body, but Ultron captures Romanoff. The Avengers fight amongst themselves when Stark secretly uploads J.A.R.V.I.S. – who is still operational after hiding from Ultron inside the Internet – into the synthetic body. Thor returns to help activate the body, explaining that the gem on its brow – one of the six Infinity Stones, the most powerful objects in existence – was part of his vision. This "Vision" and the Maximoffs accompany the Avengers to Sokovia, where Ultron has used the remaining vibranium to build a machine to lift a large part of the capital city skyward, intending to crash it into the ground to cause global extinction. Banner rescues Romanoff, who awakens the Hulk for the battle. The Avengers fight Ultron's army while Fury arrives in a Helicarrier with Maria Hill, James Rhodes and S.H.I.E.L.D. agents to evacuate civilians. Pietro dies when he shields Barton from gunfire, and a vengeful Wanda abandons her post to destroy Ultron's primary body, which allows one of his drones to activate the machine. The city plummets, but Stark and Thor overload the machine and shatter the landmass. In the aftermath, the Hulk, unwilling to endanger Romanoff by being with her, departs in a Quinjet, while the Vision confronts Ultron's last remaining body. Later, with the Avengers having established a new base run by Fury, Hill, Cho, and Selvig, Thor returns to Asgard to learn more about the forces he suspects have manipulated recent events. As Stark and Barton also leave, Rogers and Romanoff prepare to train new Avengers: Rhodes, Vision, Sam Wilson, and Wanda.
