Hiii!! I feel like these braids are everywhere right now! I love it :) I have seen a bunch of requests ever since I posted a pic a few weeks ago. It's so funny because I used to be one of those people who didn't understand how someone could braid their own hair. After trying a bunch of times.. it finally came to me!! I hope this tutorial helps anyone trying to learn. If you learn LET ME KNOW!! I love when you guys give me feedback. Love you guys so much! XOXO Carli

discussing what I do to keep my hair healthy. I I french braid my hair after every shower. If I am lazy - a regular braid will do. I love doing this because it allows it to air dry in soft waves. It also creates less frizz then if I were to air dry. Thanks to my keratin of course. As much as I love the Keratin treatments i've gotten the past few years, I feel like it may be one of the reasons for my eczema. I have been on a crazy mission to figure out how and when it all started. I'm not saying definitely but it could be one of the factors. My skin is so sensitive so I am looking into it further. I will keep you guys updated in my next video!!! I hope you enjoy XOX

Hola Chic@s! En el video de hoy haremos un peinado super rápido de hacer, principalmente con a técnica de una de las trenzas clásicas como es la trenza de pescado o también conocida como trenza de espiga. Esta es una de mis favoritas!
La trenza puede hacerse casi con cualquier lago de cabello, ya sea corto, medio o largo. La recomiendo mucho para cabello corto pues se sostiene muy bien y sin desbaratarse durante todo el día así una parte del cabello no alcance a llegar al final de la trenza.
En el video yo la termine dejando una cola de lado por lo que mi nena tiene ahorita el cabello un poco corto, pero si ustedes prefieren pueden seguir haciéndola hasta donde el cabello les alcance :)
En este tutorial también les muestro un pequeño truco que utilizo para que la trenza no se vea un poco suelta cuando la estemos terminando.

This week we are showing a fun half-up woven hairstyle that "the princess" has been wearing a lot lately. This style has a relaxed, soft, bohemian feel to it (which is so trendy right now) and would be great for teens, women, and girls. I could see this style working for casual occasions: A day at the beach, hanging out with friends, a date, or school. But, this would also be pretty for more formal events such as a wedding, prom, etc.
Although the braiding/weaving in this hairstyle looks to be quite intricate, it is actually fairly quick and easy (as shown in our tutorial.) This style should work with long hair and medium length hair. If your hair texture tends to frizz or is prone to flyaways, I would suggest weaving the hair while wet, or use pomade/gel to help keep the braid smooth for you.
Over the past 8 years that we have been hair blogging/vlogging, we have done quite a few woven hairstyles and they always seem to become our favorites. I think the weaving pattern is just so beautiful! When the clock changes and the weather starts to feel breezy it can only mean one thing - spring is almost here! Just in time, I created this bohemian braided hair style that took me less than 5 minutes (I even added extra volume up top!) Truth be told - I'm excited my hair is starting to sit at a comfortable length since chopping it all off last year (remember that!?). I was getting a little lazy with my hairstyles but I'm suddenly feeling inspired to spice up the new season with fun new hairstyles! The truth is, my braid game is limited. I can sit on Pinterest all day and day dream about doing those crazy cool braided hair looks but in reality it's not going to happen! Please don't be too hard on me while watching this video - LOL! I know my braids aren't "perfect". What I can do is the simple braid and remix it with a little twist (literally). I hope you enjoy this half-up slash half-down hairstyle that's messy and voluminous at the same time. Enjoy! P.S Did you change your clocks back? How are you adjusting so far? I was so sleepy today for some reason..

This braided hairstyle is inspired by the rick rack ribbon used in both the sewing and quilting worlds. {We've shown you this technique a long time ago, in our Textured Braids tutorial back in 2013... http://youtu.be/EVX_7Qq_y6s}
Rick Rack is literally defined by Webster's Dictionary as "a flat braid to form zigzags and used especially as trimming on clothing."
Our tutorial today uses the Rick Rack braid as a simple pinback with Kamri's straight hair. Although the braid looks fairly complex, it really is one of the easiest to create. If you know how to braid a simple 3-strand braid, then this one is going to be easy for you!

A braid (also called plait) is a complex structure or pattern formed by intertwining three or more strands of flexible material such as textile fibres, wire, or human hair. Visit http://princesshairstyles.com for 100's of hairstyles and braids. This week we are showing a fun half-up woven hairstyle that "the princess" has been wearing a lot lately. This style has a relaxed, soft, bohemian feel to it (which is so trendy right now) and would be great for teens, women, and girls. I could see this style working for casual occasions: A day at the beach, hanging out with friends, a date, or school. But, this would also be pretty for more formal events such as a wedding, prom, etc. Although the braiding/weaving in this hairstyle looks to be quite intricate, it is actually fairly quick and easy (as shown in our tutorial.) This style should work with long hair and medium length hair. If your hair texture tends to frizz or is prone to flyaways, I would suggest weaving the hair while wet, or use pomade/gel to help keep the braid smooth for you. Over the past 8 years that we have been hair blogging/vlogging, we have done quite a few woven hairstyles and they always seem to become our favorites. I think the weaving pattern is just so beautiful! When the clock changes and the weather starts to feel breezy it can only mean one thing - spring is almost here! Just in time, I created this bohemian braided hair style that took me less than 5 minutes (I even added extra volume up top!) Truth be told - I'm excited my hair is starting to sit at a comfortable length since chopping it all off last year (remember that!?). I was getting a little lazy with my hairstyles but I'm suddenly feeling inspired to spice up the new season with fun new hairstyles! The truth is, my braid game is limited. I can sit on Pinterest all day and day dream about doing those crazy cool braided hair looks but in reality it's not going to happen! Please don't be too hard on me while watching this video - LOL! The basic idea and inspiration for this braid came from a combination of several techniques which we have shown in past videos: A "feather braid" a "scallop braid" and of course, a "fishtail braid." Hiii!! I feel like these braids are everywhere right now! I love it :) I have seen a bunch of requests ever since I posted a pic a few weeks ago. It's so funny because I used to be one of those people who didn't understand how someone could braid their own hair. After trying a bunch of times.. it finally came to me!! discussing what I do to keep my hair healthy. I I french braid my hair after every shower. If I am lazy - a regular braid will do. I love doing this because it allows it to air dry in soft waves. It also creates less frizz then if I were to air dry. Thanks to my keratin of course. As much as I love the Keratin treatments i've gotten the past few years, I feel like it may be one of the reasons for my eczema. I have been on a crazy mission to figure out how and when it all started. I'm not saying definitely but it could be one of the factors. My skin is so sensitive so I am looking into it further. I will keep you guys updated in my next video!!! I hope you enjoy XOX

Hola Chic@s! En el video de hoy haremos un peinado super rápido de hacer, principalmente con a técnica de una de las trenzas clásicas como es la trenza de pescado o también conocida como trenza de espiga. Esta es una de mis favoritas!
La trenza puede hacerse casi con cualquier lago de cabello, ya sea corto, medio o largo. La recomiendo mucho para cabello corto pues se sostiene muy bien y sin desbaratarse durante todo el día así una parte del cabello no alcance a llegar al final de la trenza.
En el video yo la termine dejando una cola de lado por lo que mi nena tiene ahorita el cabello un poco corto, pero si ustedes prefieren pueden seguir haciéndola hasta donde el cabello les alcance :)
En este tutorial también les muestro un pequeño truco que utilizo para que la trenza no se vea un poco suelta cuando la estemos terminando.

This week we are showing a fun half-up woven hairstyle that "the princess" has been wearing a lot lately. This style has a relaxed, soft, bohemian feel to it (which is so trendy right now) and would be great for teens, women, and girls. I could see this style working for casual occasions: A day at the beach, hanging out with friends, a date, or school. But, this would also be pretty for more formal events such as a wedding, prom, etc.
Although the braiding/weaving in this hairstyle looks to be quite intricate, it is actually fairly quick and easy (as shown in our tutorial.) This style should work with long hair and medium length hair. If your hair texture tends to frizz or is prone to flyaways, I would suggest weaving the hair while wet, or use pomade/gel to help keep the braid smooth for you.
Over the past 8 years that we have been hair blogging/vlogging, we have done quite a few woven hairstyles and they always seem to become our favorites. I think the weaving pattern is just so beautiful! One of the very first hairstyles we posted on our blog (and still one of our all time favorites) was our "woven pigtails" in 2008: http://www.princesshairstyles.com/2014/03/woven-lattice-pigtails-princess.html And then the basket weave half-up in 2009: http://www.princesshairstyles.com/2009/03/easter-basket-hairstyle.html This "woven braid pull back" is a more grown up version (which my daughter loves now that she is a teenager!)

When the clock changes and the weather starts to feel breezy it can only mean one thing - spring is almost here! Just in time, I created this bohemian braided hair style that took me less than 5 minutes (I even added extra volume up top!) Truth be told - I'm excited my hair is starting to sit at a comfortable length since chopping it all off last year (remember that!?). I was getting a little lazy with my hairstyles but I'm suddenly feeling inspired to spice up the new season with fun new hairstyles! The truth is, my braid game is limited. I can sit on Pinterest all day and day dream about doing those crazy cool braided hair looks but in reality it's not going to happen! Please don't be too hard on me while watching this video - LOL! I know my braids aren't "perfect". What I can do is the simple braid and remix it with a little twist (literally). I hope you enjoy this half-up slash half-down hairstyle that's messy and voluminous at the same time. Enjoy! P.S Did you change your clocks back? How are you adjusting so far? I was so sleepy today for some reason..

This braided hairstyle is inspired by the rick rack ribbon used in both the sewing and quilting worlds. {We've shown you this technique a long time ago, in our Textured Braids tutorial back in 2013... http://youtu.be/EVX_7Qq_y6s}
Rick Rack is literally defined by Webster's Dictionary as "a flat braid to form zigzags and used especially as trimming on clothing."
Our tutorial today uses the Rick Rack braid as a simple pinback with Kamri's straight hair. Although the braid looks fairly complex, it really is one of the easiest to create. If you know how to braid a simple 3-strand braid, then this one is going to be easy for you!

Love the Waterfall Braid? Learn how to create this Loop Waterfall Braid for a perfect hairstyle that your friends will adore! We'll teach you the EASIEST braid stitching for this braid possible, so that everyone can do it!
One of our viewers, Bethany, emailed us a photo of this style from Pinterest and by tracing back it looks like it was from a Russian website that I cannot read. It ended up being Shaun who figured out the braid technique just from looking at the picture for 15 seconds! I didn't believe him, but, yes, I have to eat my words!
The technique essentially entails creating a loop with one small strand of hair. Then reach through that loop and pull a new small section of hair half-way through a loop, and then flipping it upside down to create a new loop. Then repeating the process across the back of the head. Then you can go back and adjust the size of the loops later, to your liking.
This isn't a hairstyle that we would recommend for an active day, as the loops and bobby pins will fall out. The Loop Waterfall is simply beautiful hairstyle for those days when you just want to wear something gorgeous!

So I'm going to show you how to do a fishtail French braid. Instead of a standard French braid, which normally starts near the hairline, we're going to start the fishtail french braid a little further back. We'll start by taking a small section right here in the back, and splitting it into two large sections. We're going to take a small piece from the outside and cross it over the center. Then take another small piece from the other side and crossing it towards the center, creating an X in the middle.
Now we'll take a small piece from the outside and start picking up hair and adding it to those pieces, crossing it over the center. Pick up a small piece from the outside and a larger piece and crossing it over the center. We're going to continue to take hair in a circular section, adding it to the braid. You always want to make sure that you have an X here in the center, otherwise we lose the whole style.
Another tip with fishtail braids is to make sure that each of the outside sections that you're taking is nice and small so that the style is nice and tight and you get that zipper effect. Clean sections is key with the fishtail braid, because the second you lose your clean sections, you lose the whole braid. Now at the base of the hairline you have no more hair to pick up, so continue taking small sections from the outside of the two sections.
I've found that by picking up the sections with your pointer fingers you keep the sections nice and clean. Now this braid is great, because you can turn it into an updo, you can turn it into a side braid. It's just a really nice look to have in your repertoire. To keep the look fresh I like to stop the braid a couple of inches, two or three, maybe four, we're stopping on Kelly maybe four inches away from the bottom, just to make it look a little less stuffy and have a little more fun with it.
Now you're going to finish off with a clear elastic. Now you can leave the band exposed, but I normally like to cover the band, so I'll take a small section from the back and wrap it around the elastic. Then just finish tying off that elastic, pulling it up and just kind of moving the hair down, so that it completely covers. Great! There you have a French braid fishtail.

Our video tutorial this week is a fun variation of the ever popular and trendy fishtail braid, which we are calling the "twisted edge fishtail."
The basic idea and inspiration for this braid came from a combination of several techniques which we have shown in past videos: A "feather braid" a "scallop braid" and of course, a "fishtail braid." Unlike the scallop braid (which can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNVCAm3lHKA) we chose to remove just one strand at a time from the fishtail, while keeping these strands close to the original braid as they are added back in. This is what creates the twisted pattern along both sides of the braid.
This braid tends to hold up very well and would be perfect for school, work, sports, and other occasions. If you so desire, this braid can be wrapped up into a bun, forming a beautiful patterned updo.
