A town crier, or bellman, is an officer of the court who makes public pronouncements as required by the court (cf. Black's Law Dictionary).
The town crier can also be used to make public announcements in the streets. Criers often dress elaborately, by a tradition dating to the 18th century, in a red and gold coat, white breeches, black boots and a tricorne hat.
They carry a handbell to attract people's attention, as they shout the words "Oyez, Oyez, Oyez!" before making their announcements. The word "Oyez" means "hear ye," which is a call for silence and attention. Oyez derives from the Anglo-Norman word for listen. The proclamations book in Chester from the early 19th century records this as" O Yes, O Yes!"
As in England, town criers were the means of communication with the people of the town since many people could not read or write. Proclamations, local bylaws, market days, adverts, were all proclaimed by a bellman or crier.
In Goslar, Germany, a crier was employed to remind the local populace not to urinate or defecate in the river the day before water was drawn for brewing beer.
Béatrice Martin (born September 22, 1989), better known by her stage name Cœur de pirate ([kœʁ də piʁat]; French for: Pirate's Heart), is a Canadian singer-songwriter. A francophone from Montreal, she sings mostly in French and has been credited with "bringing la chanson française to a whole new generation of Quebec youth".
Born in the province of Quebec, Béatrice Martin started playing the piano when she was only three years old. She entered the Conservatoire de musique du Québec à Montréal at the age of nine and studied there for five years.
At the age of 15, she played as a keyboardist in the post-hardcore band December Strikes First which starred her best friend, Francis, who would later become the subject of the song "Francis" on her debut album. Martin had a brief stint as keyboardist for Bonjour Brumaire from late 2007 to April 2008.
In a report broadcast on French television, Martin explained that she chose the name "Cœur de pirate" to appear not "as an isolated musician, but to get a band identity from the start." She released her debut album Cœur de pirate on September 16, 2008 on Grosse Boîte. Described as "rather simple" musically, it mostly featured Martin's voice and piano playing with some minor additional instrumentation.

Jump ahead 20 years: Orestes, the city's prefect, has an uneasy peace with Christians, led by Cyril. A group from the newly empowered Christians has now taken to enforce their cultural hegemony zealously; first they see the Jews as their obstacle, then nonbelievers. Hypatia has no interest in faith; she's concerned about the movement of celestial bodies and "the brotherhood of all". Although her former slave doesn't see it that way.

so i love japanese music and i love hatsune miku, thus, i decided i'd take one of my favorite songs by her and do a weak translation while looking up other translations for a music video, ahahah. i don't own anything, not the drawing, not the lyrics, and not the vocals. the drawing was found on google and belongs to it's rightful owner / artist / creator while the music and lyrics belong to Scop who wrote this beautiful song. all i did was a bit of translating here and there and then threw it all together in a video for you guys. i think my next song will be irony? i might do a cover eventually as well of a miku song, not quite sure yet. if you're still reading this, though, don't be shocked to see one ahahah.

tonight I'll dream a girl called home
and wake up in tears
all on my own
with the sun coming up
and my head against stone
balcony dressed and drawn
tonight I'll Dream a room so far away
frost pale blue
the colour of a perfect day
and then screw up my face
in the mirror
as I wait for the others to call
but if I don't believe in magic
and I don't believe in blood
and I don't believe in miracles
and I don't believe in love
then how come I believe so soon
in a cherry tree girl
and a dust blue room?
tonight I'll dream an hour so long
shadow soft smiles
and everyone loves me
to open my eyes
in a drag myself face undone
hard back into the world
tonight I'll dream a dream I dream
without even trying I'm flying I scream
as I practice the move
I spit at my pillow stained face
and the others all come
but if I don't believe in magic
and I don't believe in blood
and I don't believe in miracles
and I don't believe in love
then how come I believe it seems
in a girl called home
