'Ian Madigan' (born 21 March 1989) is an Irish professional rugby union player for Flynns FC, Leinster Rugby and Ireland. His primary position is at fly-half, although he can also play at centre and full-back.
Madigan made his senior debut for Leinster in a Celtic League match versus Newport Gwent Dragons in May 2009. He went on to make 18 appearances for Leinster during the season. Madigan broke through to the Heineken Cup squad and came on as a replacement in Leinster's cup final victory against Northampton Saints. The following season he became a regular first XV player and scored five tries in ten matches. He made a superb substitute appearance in the 2012 Heineken Cup final in Twickenham, with his long looping pass to Sean O'Brien enabling him to put Sean Cronin in for the final try. With the departure of Jonathan Sexton to Racing Métro at the start of the 2013-14 season, Madigan was vying with New Zealander Jimmy Gopperth, who joined the province from Newcastle Falcons, for the role of first choice fly-half. Throughout that season the selectors adopted a system of alternation between the two players, with neither individual being considered to have nailed down the number ten jersey.
Madigan is a 1968 American dramatic thriller film directed by Don Siegel and starring Richard Widmark and Henry Fonda.
The screenplay—originally titled Friday, Saturday, Sunday—was adapted by two writers who had been blacklisted in the 1950s, Howard Rodman (credited here under the pseudonym Henri Simoun) and Abraham Polonsky. It was based on the 1962 novel The Commissioner by Richard Dougherty, a former New York bureau chief of the Los Angeles Times who had served in the 1950s as a deputy New York City police commissioner for community relations.
Siegel was a genre director known at the time for taut action films like The Lineup (1958) and Hell Is for Heroes (1962), as well as the original science fiction classic Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956). He later directed five films starring Clint Eastwood, including Dirty Harry.
In New York City's Spanish Harlem, police detectives Dan Madigan and Rocco Bonaro break into a sleazy apartment and arrest Barney Benesch, a hoodlum wanted for questioning by a Brooklyn precinct. Momentarily distracted by the suspect's nude girl friend, the two detectives are outwitted by Benesch, who escapes with their guns.
Craig Gilroy (born 11 March 1991) from Belfast is an Irish rugby union player. He plays wing for Ulster and for Ireland. Gilroy made headlines with his try-scoring exploits in the defeat of Munster in the April 2012 Heineken Cup quarter final. He also took part in the Semi final against Edinburgh with which Ulster went through to the Heineken Cup final, winning 22–19.
Gilroy is the middle of five children and was brought up in Bangor, County Down in Northern Ireland before moving to Belfast upon becoming part of the first team. He was educated and boarded at Methodist College Belfast. Gilroy has loved rugby since he was a child and was popular in school with his great running skills. He twice won the Ulster Schools' Cup with Methodist College Belfast, scoring several tries in his final year as the school won the cup two years running.
In 2010 Gilroy was promoted to the Ulster Rugby first team. Gilroy scored 8 tries during the 2010–11 Celtic League. Gilroy burst onto the scene and scored his first two tries of the 2010–11 season in a match against the Cardiff Blues which Ulster won 37–15. Gilroy again scored twice the next game against Benetton Treviso when Ulster rugby won 19–9. He then made his tally to 5 tries when he scored against Leinster rugby but it was not good enough and Leinster won 30–13. He was ruled out for two games with an injury but scored a try against Cardiff Blues to make him known a young talent. He scored once again in the 23–10 win over Aironi. During the 2010–11 season, Gilroy's club, Dungannon RFC, came fifth.
So this is a really different video to what I would usually upload, but I made this video in my spare time just for fun, and after I thought I might as well upload it, Madigan is one of my favourite players ever, and one of the reasons I started to play rugby myself so him leaving Leinster to me is heartbreaking, but I'm excited to see where he goes in the future and hopefully back to the RDS!
