The story:
I went out of town for work and when I got back, my wife Julie told me, "You've got to hear this. She puts on the music and my little 4 year old Adanna struts and shimmies across the living room singing every single word of "Let it go" with feeling and reckless abandonment!! Along with every other kid in the country, She got "Frozenitis!
My mind immediately started racing and I thought "I HAVE TO AFRICANIZE THIS!!!
But it needed to have a unique twist. How cool would it be to actually have kids performing this? Seeing as they are the the biggest fans!
So I called up my friend Masa Fukuda who just happens to have a 140 strong choir of the most incredible singing kids and asked if he was willing to collab on my crazy idea of doing an africanized version of frozen. awhile back, I had heard a young girl named Lexi Walker sing at a local event, and WOW, she just blew me away! I knew she would be the perfect person to sing lead on this song!! Masa is a machine!!! By the next day, he had already rounded up some choir members, produced the music, and recorded the choir in his studio. All within 2 days!!!
The singing ability, discipline, and professionalism of the kids was just astounding to me!
The video shoot was amazing and even though it was SO cold you couldn't feel your toes, the kids were amazing and so patient!
So, everybody, please welcome the One voice children's choir!!!

Demetria Devonne "Demi" Lovato (born August 20, 1992) is an American singer-songwriter, musician, and actress. Her earliest roles included Angela on Barney & Friends, before she became better known for her starring roles in the Camp Rock movies, as Sonny Munroe in the Disney sitcom Sonny with a Chance, and as the star of the 2009 movie Princess Protection Program. She is also involved in philanthropic activities through charity work and various social and environmental causes.
As a solo musical artist, Lovato released her debut album Don't Forget on September 23, 2008. The album debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 selling 89,000 copies in the first week. It has since shipped over 500,000 copies, earning a gold certification in the United States. Lovato released her second album, Here We Go Again, on July 21, 2009. The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, selling 108,000 copies in the first week. Her third studio album, Unbroken, was released on September 20, 2011 and peaked at number four on the Billboard 200. She is working on her fourth studio album.

The story: I went out of town for work and when I got back, my wife Julie told me, "You've got to hear this. She puts on the music and my little 4 year old Adanna struts and shimmies across the living room singing every single word of "Let it go" with feeling and reckless abandonment!! Along with every other kid in the country, She got "Frozenitis! My mind immediately started racing and I thought "I HAVE TO AFRICANIZE THIS!!! But it needed to have a unique twist. How cool would it be to actually have kids performing this? Seeing as they are the the biggest fans! So I called up my friend Masa Fukuda who just happens to have a 140 strong choir of the most incredible singing kids and asked if he was willing to collab on my crazy idea of doing an africanized version of frozen. awhile back, I had heard a young girl named Lexi Walker sing at a local event, and WOW, she just blew me away! I knew she would be the perfect person to sing lead on this song!! Masa is a machine!!! By the next day, he had already rounded up some choir members, produced the music, and recorded the choir in his studio. All within 2 days!!! The singing ability, discipline, and professionalism of the kids was just astounding to me! The video shoot was amazing and even though it was SO cold you couldn't feel your toes, the kids were amazing and so patient! The story:
I went out of town for work and when I got back, my wife Julie told me, "You've got to hear this. She puts on the music and my little 4 year old Adanna struts and shimmies across the living room singing every single word of "Let it go" with feeling and reckless abandonment!! Along with every other kid in the country, She got "Frozenitis!
My mind immediately started racing and I thought "I HAVE TO AFRICANIZE THIS!!!
But it needed to have a unique twist. How cool would it be to actually have kids performing this? Seeing as they are the the biggest fans!
So I called up my friend Masa Fukuda who just happens to have a 140 strong choir of the most incredible singing kids and asked if he was willing to collab on my crazy idea of doing an africanized version of frozen. awhile back, I had heard a young girl named Lexi Walker sing at a local event, and WOW, she just blew me away! I knew she would be the perfect person to sing lead on this song!! Masa is a machine!!! By the next day, he had already rounded up some choir members, produced the music, and recorded the choir in his studio. All within 2 days!!!
The singing ability, discipline, and professionalism of the kids was just astounding to me!
The video shoot was amazing and even though it was SO cold you couldn't feel your toes, the kids were amazing and so patient!

The story:
I went out of town for work and when I got back, my wife Julie told me, "You've got to hear this. She puts on the music and my little 4 year old Adanna struts and shimmies across the living room singing every single word of "Let it go" with feeling and reckless abandonment!! Along with every other kid in the country, She got "Frozenitis!
My mind immediately started racing and I thought "I HAVE TO AFRICANIZE THIS!!!
But it needed to have a unique twist. How cool would it be to actually have kids performing this? Seeing as they are the the biggest fans!
So I called up my friend Masa Fukuda who just happens to have a 140 strong choir of the most incredible singing kids and asked if he was willing to collab on my crazy idea of doing an africanized version of frozen. awhile back, I had heard a young girl named Lexi Walker sing at a local event, and WOW, she just blew me away! I knew she would be the perfect person to sing lead on this song!! Masa is a machine!!! By the next day, he had already rounded up some choir members, produced the music, and recorded the choir in his studio. All within 2 days!!!
The singing ability, discipline, and professionalism of the kids was just astounding to me!
The video shoot was amazing and even though it was SO cold you couldn't feel your toes, the kids were amazing and so patient!

I'm guessing that is why this video...meant for friends and family on Facebook has brought so much joy to people from all over the country.

Story behind the song:
So who doesn't love a story about an estranged ice princess, a dynamic mountain man/reindeer duo and a snowman obsessed with warm weather? We all loved the movie "Frozen" and its single, "Let It Go." So much emotion, energy and drama packed into one tune. But we thought we'd add a little more drama...by melting together "Let It Go" and themes from Vivaldi's classical piece, "Winter." (You can watch an impressive performance of the original here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yu6Hr9kd-U0 - see if you can find where we used the main themes from each of the three movements.) Vivaldi's almost reckless string motives helped us surround the determined, upbeat melody and chords from "Let It Go" with intensity and uncertainty. We wanted the music to alternate between "freezing" and "thawing," representing the opposing forces throughout the "Frozen" story.
We were extra ambitious about capturing as much definition of the ice as possible so we decided to give 4K a try (a step up from 1080p HD) using the "RED" camera (same camera used in filming "The Hobbit"). So we called up our buddy Jacob Schwartz who rented us his awesome camera set up! It was challenging for Paul and Shaye to learn a whole new system and camera minutes before the shoot, but after awhile started getting the hang of it...:-) Editing the video on the other hand was a whole new process in processing that 4k footage. It took us 4 times as long to edit the video and fix glitches that kept happening working with such large files! After this experience, we might have to give 4k a try again, but not until we've mastered the art of it all which this video got us on the path at least.
Special thanks to Ryan Davis and his way cool crew at the Midway Ice Castles for hosting us. They built this winter palace one icicle at a time. Amazing! They were so nice and they really went the extra mile for us.
