I Wish (band)

I WiSH is a Japanese pop group consisting of two members, Ai Kawashima and nao. Ai is responsible for the vocals and occasionally plays the piano also with nao on the keyboard or piano. Their most notable track is "Asu e no tobira" (明日への扉) and was in the Oricon rankings for over a year.

Nao learned the piano when he was 5 years old. He started making original music, for example "Asu e no tobira" (明日への扉), "Futatsuboshi" (ふたつ星), "Yakusoku no hi" (約束の日) and so on. He won the grand prix held by YAMAHA. According to his web site, he has a perfect pitch.

Ai Kawashima's father was missing before she was born, and her mother died when she was just three years old. She was adopted by Kawashima’s family as an adopted daughter after she spent some time in an orphanage. She learned how to play the piano when she was only 3 years old. In 1999, she debuted as an Enka singer, however, it wasn’t a hit. In 2002, they started a life on the road by singing with their own electric piano as a companiment. In 2005, March 24, they dissolved “I WISH,” because they want to concentrate on solo activity. But in 2008, they resolved one more time for a last single together.

I Wish (Morning Musume song)

"I Wish" is a song by J-pop idol group Morning Musume and was released September 6, 2000 as their tenth single. It sold a total of 654,640 copies. "I Wish" was the song used in Japanese commercials for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, which also featured the girls in the commercials. Lead vocals in the song are Ai Kago and Maki Goto. It was a number-one hit on the Oricon Charts in Japan.

I Wish (Gabrielle song)

"I Wish" is the third single from Gabrielle and the third from her debut album Find Your Way. Written by Gabrielle and Jon Douglas, "I Wish" was not as successful as its predecessors, which both reached the UK top ten. "I Wish" charted at #26 on the UK singles chart and remains one of Gabrielle's lowest peaking singles to date. The only other of her singles to chart lower was "Ten Years Time", released eleven years later, which charted outside the UK top forty.

In the U.S. it became her second and final single to chart there, peaking at #52.

The Winners, currently known as The Winners Rebooted is a long running Australian television series that shows highlights of Australian rules football matches.

Original show (1970s and 1980s)

The original version was broadcast during the late 1970s to late 1980s on the ABC on Sunday mornings. It was normally hosted by Drew Morphett with a panel consisting of former players and pundits. Two matches from the previous day's Victorian Football League (VFL) fixtures would be screened and the panel would speculate about the games along with the league ladder and the goal, mark and play of the day. The format of the show was comprehensive, yet devoted mainly to matters on the field. Today it appears simplistic when compared with modern football's more saturated and market driven media coverage.

New show (2000-2012)

A new version of The Winners returned on the Fox Footy Channel in 2002, hosted by Clinton Grybas, showing highlights of all eight AFL games from the weekend in a one-hour show. From 2007 to 2011, it was shown on Fox Sports on the Monday night following the round. In 2012, the show moved to Fox Footy channel.

My Way (1973 film)

My Way (also known as The Winners) is a 1973 South African drama film directed by Emil Nofal and Roy Sargent and starring Joe Stewardson, Richard Loring, Marie Du Toit and Tony Jay. It was followed by a sequel My Way II in 1977.

The Winners (Spanish: Los premios) is a novel by Julio Cortázar published in 1960. It was his first published novel (though not the first novel he wrote) and was also the first of his books to be published in English in its entirety.

Plot

The winners of a state lottery, a cross section of the citizens of Buenos Aires, have received tickets for a mysterious luxury cruise. Summoned to meet in a popular café and escorted under the cover of darkness to the secret location of their ship, they embark without knowing where they are headed. Within hours the ship stops; the passengers are informed that a disease has broken out among the crew and that they will be confined to a small section of the ship. In suspense, the passengers mull over their pasts and the future, form attachments and suspicions, tell secrets, explore desires. While some of them merely accept their confinement, others are increasingly driven to confront the crew, leading to an outbreak of violence.
