Dulwich College is an independent public school for boys in Dulwich, southeast London, England. The college was founded in 1619 by Edward Alleyn, an Elizabethan actor, with the original purpose of educating 12 poor scholars as the foundation of "God's Gift". It currently has about 1,500 boys, of whom 120 are boarders thus making it one of the largest (in terms of numbers of pupils) independent schools in the United Kingdom. The school will be celebrating its 400th anniversary in 2019. Admission by examination is mainly into years 3, 7, 9, and 12 (i.e. ages 7, 11, 13, and 16 years old) to the Junior, Lower, Middle and Upper Schools into which the college is divided. It is a member of both the Headmasters' and Headmistresses' Conference and the Eton Group.

Dulwich (/ˈdʌlᵻtʃ/) is an area of south London, England. The settlement is mostly in the London Borough of Southwark, with parts in the London Borough of Lambeth. Dulwich, consists of East Dulwich, West Dulwich and Dulwich Village and lies in a valley between the neighbouring districts of Camberwell, Crystal Palace, Denmark Hill, Forest Hill, Gipsy Hill, Knights Hill, Herne Hill, Honor Oak, Peckham, Penge, Sydenham Hill, Tulse Hill and West Norwood. Dulwich was in Surrey until 1889, when the County of London was created. The modern western boundary with the neighbouring Borough of Lambeth, Croxted Road, derives its name from a very old pilgrim way, Croke (crooked) Street.. Dulwich is also known as the location of the Dulwich Picture Gallery and Dulwich College.
The first documented evidence of Dulwich is as a hamlet outside London in 967AD, granted by King Edgar to one of his thanes Earl Aelfheah. The name of Dulwich has been spelt in various ways, Dilwihs, Dylways, Dullag, and may come from two old English words, Dill, a white flower, and wihs, meaning a damp meadow, giving a meaning of "the meadow where dill grows".
College (Latin: collegium) is an educational institution or a constituent part of one. Usage of the word college varies in English-speaking nations. A college may be a degree-awarding tertiary educational institution, a part of a collegiate university, or an institution offering vocational education.
In the United States and Italy, "college" formally refers to a constituent part of a university, but generally "college" and "university" are used interchangeably, whereas in Oceania and South Asia, "college" may refer to a secondary or high school, a college of further education, a training institution that awards trade qualifications, or a constituent part of a university (See this comparison of British and American English educational terminology for further information).
In ancient Rome a collegium was a club or society, a group of people living together under a common set of rules (con- = "together" + leg- = "law" or lego = "I choose" or "I read").

The essence and energy of this year’s Dulwich Symposium has been captured on film. The Symposium enables Upper School boys to foster their intellectual interests though an off-timetable day of interdisciplinary enquiry. This short film follows the journey of boys and staff through the inspiring and rewarding day on 9 October 2014.

I spent a few days in London and Cambridge in Sept. of 2016. A highlight for me was a trip south to Dulwich College to see Ernest Shackleton's life boat. Read more about my visit at www.aprilstravels.com
Kieron explains how syncing for offline access, password management with LDAP and drive mapping all help to create a smoother, more integrated experience for teachers and students - all of which ultimately drives usage.
In June 2014, a group of twenty staff and students from Dulwich College Shanghai went to Kabale, in south-west Uganda, to work alongside local contractors to build The Peace Centre, an orphanage that will be a home for up to forty children from the region. It was an absolutely amazing experience: by the end we felt as though we were a part of the community and found it very hard to leave. We cannot wait to go back in 2015, to see the finished building and to work and play with the children who will by then be living there. For more information, check out: http://thepeacecentre.org/
