Ronald E. Richardson (January 27, 1952 – April 5, 1995) was an American actor and operatic baritone. Richardson began his career in the mid-1970s appearing in regional theater and opera productions. He appeared in several Broadway musicals from 1978-1993, arguably best known for his Tony Award and Drama Desk Award-winning performance of Jim in the 1985 Broadway musical Big River.
Richardson was born to William F. and Amanda Richardson in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His father worked in the meat-packing industry and his mother operated a beauty parlor in their home for more than 30 years. He had one sister, Vickilyn Reynolds, and two brothers, the Reverend W. Franklyn Richardson and Raymond Lloyd Richardson. Richardson was highly influenced by the music at his family's church where he started singing at age 4. In high school he began studying singing seriously and performed in choirs and dinner theater musicals. He also studied music composition. After high school, Richardson entered the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, where he studied voice and played roles in classic musicals such as Show Boat, Camelot, and Man of La Mancha.

Plot: An adult Martin Roy reminisces about his life in the 1966/67 school year. At fifteen years old and in his last year of junior high school, he breathed, ate and slept hockey. He collected hockey cards, played street hockey with his friends, tried skating and ice hockey for the first time in his life, but was most fascinated with his local national league team, the Montréal Canadiens, and its star player, 'Henri Richard (III)' (qv). He dreamed of growing up and working for the Canadiens franchise. But a more immediate goal was to get tickets to one of their games, using M. Richard and his banker father, Hervé, as possible conduits to that goal. He also remembers his school life from that year, with the arrival of pot smoking free thinking hippie Ron Richardson as the new English teacher, and dreading home room with strict Mlle. Chouinard, who he eventually learned too had a human side. But he learned that there may be a couple of things more important than hockey: family, and the opposite sex.

HYPEBEAST has teamed up with The Compound, a creative studio located in the birthplace of hip-hop, New York City, on Compound Conversations – a series of interviews in a surreal space curated by SetFree. Having served as the setting for the past seven conversations, we finally gain some insight into the creation process of The Compound from its founder, Set Free Richardson. Combining disparate aspects of pop and urban street culture, including a 1981 Pacman arcade machine, collector's vinyl toys from KAWS, and a chalk mural by Ron English, Richardson's vision of the space is tied together by the iconic Star Wars, specifically the admirably mercenary nature of bounty hunter Boba Fett. Susan Richardson earned fame on the late 70s TV hit Eight Is Enough, but she now lives a much simpler life in a camper without a TV or internet. The 64-year-old's career started when she was discovered by a then-unknown director named George Lucas, who gave her a part in the 1973 film American Graffiti. It was on that set where she met Ron Howard, and a role for Richardson in Happy Days soon followed. She told Inside Edition that her trailer doesn't contain a TV or computer.
