One of the most well-known characters in comic book history, Superman is also one of the oldest. Created by writer Jerry Siegel and artist Joe Shuster, Superman first appeared in Action Comics number 1 – all the way back in June of 1938, setting the stage for countless superheroes that followed in the next seventy-eight years (and counting). While certain elements of Superman’s backstory and powers remain the same nearly eight decades later, different writers and artists also brought with them changes to the hero’s mythology. Some carried forward, adding to Superman canon, while others were set aside and abandoned when they were no longer needed.
While there is not one “official” Superman, though fans will likely have their favorites, DC Comics has attempted to refine the Man of Steel over the years – delving deeper and deeper into why the Kryptonian hero can do the various “super” things he does. Superman’s powers are no secret but how, exactly, science (albeit science fiction) contributes to Kal-El’s super-human abilities is less well-known. This might be review for the biggest Superman lovers (footage of Jerry Seinfeld) but, for fans who want to know more about the Big Blue Boy Scout, we’re digging into the god-like biology of Earth’s iconic Kryptonian for our latest docu series video: the real science behind Superman’s coolest powers.

When we think of Disney movies we often think of funny and heart-warming classics which entertained us as kids and continue to entertain us and our children to this day. Thinking back over the past decades, most of the biggest animated hits to come out on film were produced by Disney. They were always released to great fanfare and hype, with an array of toys and books released in conjunction to get the most money out of the eager audience. Sure, Disney films were known to have some content that only adults would really get – after all, just check out our video on Subliminal Messages in Children’s Movies. All in all, however, they make up some of our best childhood memories and some even have a spot on the shelf with our most cherished DVDs and Blurays.
Interestingly, almost every Disney film, whether new or classic, is based on a far older story or tale. For the most part, much of what comes from the studio has its roots in a story written by the likes of Shakespeare, Hans Christian Andersen or the Brothers Grimm. Naturally, the transition from book to screen has seen some creative editing and reworking of the story over the years. In fact, for many of our favorites, this transition has seen Disney take out a lot of material that could potentially tip the film into R-rated territory. Sure Disney films are known to have some rather scary or dramatic scenes but if they remained 100% faithful to some of the original material we guarantee it would make for a rather unpleasant children’s film.

The laws of Australian football describe the rules of the game of Australian rules football as they have evolved and adapted, with the same underlying core rules, since 1859.
The laws is an extensive document containing rules and interpretations and is currently managed by the Australian Football League.
The rules were first formed by the Melbourne Football Club, chaired by Tom Wills in 1859. The laws significantly pre-date the advent of a governing body for the sport. The first national and international body, the Australasian Football Council, was formed in 1890 to govern Australasian Rules. Since 1990, the rules for the game known as Australian football have been governed by the AFL and the organisation's Laws of the Game committee.
Eighteen players are permitted to take the field for each team, with an additional four players on an interchange bench (although this number often varies in exhibition and practice matches). The equipment needed to play the game is minimal. As in other kinds of football, players wear boots with stops (known as "cleats" or "studs" in some regions) in the soles, shorts, and a thick, strong shirt or jumper known as a guernsey.

Kelly Brianne Clarkson (born April 24, 1982) is an American singer, songwriter and occasional actress. Clarkson came into prominence after becoming the winner of the inaugural season of the television series American Idol in 2002 and later was the runner-up in the television special World Idol in 2003.
In 2003, Clarkson released her debut album, Thankful, which was a commercial success and established herself in the pop music industry. The release of its first single, "A Moment Like This" (2002), broke The Beatles' record for the biggest leap to number one, from 52, in the history of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. After parting ways with her management, Clarkson developed a more rock-oriented music with the release of her critically acclaimed sophomore album, Breakaway (2004), which sold more than 12 million copies worldwide and which garnered Clarkson more worldwide success as a pop rock artist. The album's single, "Because of You" (2005), became the best-selling single by an Idol contestant worldwide. In 2007, Clarkson took full creative control for her third album My December, which had a more rock-inspired sound and was met with controversy and moderate success. Clarkson later returned to a more pop-oriented sound with All I Ever Wanted (2009), which became a commercial and critical success. The album's lead single, "My Life Would Suck Without You" (2009), surpassed "A Moment Like This"'s record for the biggest leap to number one on a single week in the history of the Billboard Hot 100 Chart, a milestone it still holds today. Furthermore, it also became her first number one single in the United Kingdom. Clarkson's fifth studio album, Stronger, was released in 2011, containing elements from synthpop, R&B and country music. Created by writer Jerry Siegel and artist Joe Shuster, Superman first appeared in Action Comics number 1 – all the way back in June of 1938, setting the stage for countless superheroes that followed in the next seventy-eight years (and counting). While certain elements of Superman’s backstory and powers remain the same nearly eight decades later, different writers and artists also brought with them changes to the hero’s mythology. Some carried forward, adding to Superman canon, while others were set aside and abandoned when they were no longer needed. While there is not one “official” Superman, though fans will likely have their favorites, DC Comics has attempted to refine the Man of Steel over the years – delving deeper and deeper into why the Kryptonian hero can do the various “super” things he does. Superman’s powers are no secret but how, exactly, science (albeit science fiction) contributes to Kal-El’s super-human abilities is less well-known. Thinking back over the past decades, most of the biggest animated hits to come out on film were produced by Disney. They were always released to great fanfare and hype, with an array of toys and books released in conjunction to get the most money out of the eager audience. Sure, Disney films were known to have some content that only adults would really get – after all, just check out our video on Subliminal Messages in Children’s Movies. All in all, however, they make up some of our best childhood memories and some even have a spot on the shelf with our most cherished DVDs and Blurays. Interestingly, almost every Disney film, whether new or classic, is based on a far older story or tale. For the most part, much of what comes from the studio has its roots in a story written by the likes of Shakespeare, Hans Christian Andersen or the Brothers Grimm. Naturally, the transition from book to screen has seen some creative editing and reworking of the story over the years. In fact, for many of our favorites, this transition has seen Disney take out a lot of material that could potentially tip the film into R-rated territory. Sure Disney films are known to have some rather scary or dramatic scenes but if they remained 100% faithful to some of the original material we guarantee it would make for a rather unpleasant children’s film. Created by writer Jerry Siegel and artist Joe Shuster, Superman first appeared in Action Comics number 1 – all the way back in June of 1938, setting the stage for countless superheroes that followed in the next seventy-eight years (and counting). While certain elements of Superman’s backstory and powers remain the same nearly eight decades later, different writers and artists also brought with them changes to the hero’s mythology. Some carried forward, adding to Superman canon, while others were set aside and abandoned when they were no longer needed.
While there is not one “official” Superman, though fans will likely have their favorites, DC Comics has attempted to refine the Man of Steel over the years – delving deeper and deeper into why the Kryptonian hero can do the various “super” things he does. Superman’s powers are no secret but how, exactly, science (albeit science fiction) contributes to Kal-El’s super-human abilities is less well-known. I was invited to the Halo World Championship 2016. Naturally, I brought my camera. Getting the opportunity to hang out behind the scenes of the production, I caught many great moments on film. A lot of work and a lot of people are needed to put on a show like this one. Hopefully this gives you a taste of that!

CEBU CITY, Philippines – Presidential candidates will square off again in the second round of presidential debates on Sunday, March 20, at
the University of the Philippines (UP) Cebu.
"It will be a different format, definitely, and shorter commercials," Gregg Lloren, a UP faculty member and event manager for the debate told
Rappler.
There are no final details yet on how much time candidates will have to answer questions, or on how much time would be allotted for
commercial advertisements.
In the first presidential debate held on February 21 in Cagayan de Oro City, candidates complained that they did not have enough time to
speak about their platform.
The new format would allow one candidate to ask a question to another.
The venue, UP Cebu's Performing Arts Hall, could accommodate 500 people, but only 300 will be allowed inside for security and technical
reasons.
Lloren said candidates will be given time to speak to people outside the venue, then with the media at the library before proceeding to the
session hall.
Inside the hall, 200 of the audience members will be invited by the Commission on Elections (Comelec), while 100 slots will be reserved for
UP Cebu students and faculty.
Outside of the hall, about 900 of 1,500 seats will be up for grabs.
Some of the 900 seats were raffled off to non-UP students on March 8, in a forum titled, "Marcos in Retrospect: A Comparative Analysis of the
Regimes under the Third Republic."
Lloren told Rappler that the organizers have met with local agencies including the Philippine National Police Region 7, the Cebu City Police
Office, the Armed Forces of the Philippines, and the Cebu City Transportation Office on security and traffic preparations.

It was a revelation - Watson had been tasered and strangled. Then someone claiming to be John Watson attempted to transfer nine million dollars from one of his bank accounts. ABOUT THE SPEAKERS:
PROF. DR. LAWRENCE M. KRAUSS, is an internationally known theoretical physicist with wide research interests, including the interface between elementary particle physics and cosmology, where his studies include the early universe, the nature of dark matter, general relativity and neutrino astrophysics. He has investigated questions ranging from the nature of exploding stars to issues of the origin of all mass in the universe. He was born in New York City and moved shortly thereafter to Toronto, Canada, where he grew up. He received undergraduate degrees in both Mathematics and Physics at Carleton University. He received his Ph.D. in Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1982), then joined the Harvard Society of Fellows (1982-85).
DR. STEPHEN C. MEYER, Intelligent Design advocate, received his Ph.D. in the philosophy of science from the University of Cambridge. ABOUT THE SPEAKERS:
PROF. DR. LAWRENCE M. KRAUSS, is an internationally known theoretical physicist with wide research interests, including the interface between elementary particle physics and cosmology, where his studies include the early universe, the nature of dark matter, general relativity and neutrino astrophysics. He has investigated questions ranging from the nature of exploding stars to issues of the origin of all mass in the universe. He was born in New York City and moved shortly thereafter to Toronto, Canada, where he grew up. He received undergraduate degrees in both Mathematics and Physics at Carleton University. He received his Ph.D. in Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1982), then joined the Harvard Society of Fellows (1982-85).
DR. STEPHEN C. MEYER, Intelligent Design advocate, received his Ph.D. in the philosophy of science from the University of Cambridge.
