That's a question we can't answer, but we can tell you how Jackson got to be president, and how he changed the country when he got the job. Jackson's election was more democratic than any previous presidential election. More people were able to vote, and they picked a doozie. Jackson was a well-known war hero, and he was elected over his longtime political enemy, John Quincy Adams. Once Jackson was in office, he did more to expand executive power than any of the previous occupants of the White House. He used armed troops to collect taxes, refused to enforce legislation and supreme court legislation, and hired and fired his staff based on support in elections. Viewers discover that Jackson fought in the Revolutionary War when he was 13 years old and that he used the skills learned in battle to kill a man over a gambling debt; that Jackson led the American army to the most surprising victory in its history in the Battle of New Orleans, but that he also launched an unauthorized invasion of Florida; that Jackson was the first great champion of the common white man and owned more than a hundred black Americans; that Jackson dramatically expanded the United States and did so by brutally wresting vast regions of the south from Native Americans; that Jackson, in one of the boldest political strokes in history, founded the Democratic Party, yet was viewed by his enemies as an American Napoleon. The film concludes with the words of Jackson's first biographer, James Parton: "Andrew Jackson was a patriot, and a traitor. He was the greatest of generals, and wholly ignorant of the art of war. Andrew Jackson (March 15, 1767 – June 8, 1845) was the seventh President of the United States (1829–1837). Based in frontier Tennessee, Jackson was a politician and army general who defeated the Creek Indians at the Battle of Horseshoe Bend (1814), and the British at the Battle of New Orleans (1815). A polarizing figure who dominated the Second Party System in the 1820s and 1830s, as president he destroyed the national bank and relocated most Indian tribes from the Southeast to west of the Mississippi River. His enthusiastic followers created the modern Democratic Party. The 1830–1850 period later became known as the era of Jacksonian democracy.
Jackson was nicknamed "Old Hickory" because of his toughness and aggressive personality; he fought in duels, some fatal to his opponents. He was a rich slaveholder, who appealed to the common men of the United States, and fought politically against what he denounced as a closed, undemocratic aristocracy. He expanded the spoils system during his presidency to strengthen his political base.

Plot: It's the early nineteenth century Washington. Young adult Margaret O'Neal - Peggy to most that know her - is the daughter of Major William O'Neal, who is the innkeeper of the establishment where most out-of-town politicians and military men stay when they're in Washington. Peggy is pretty and politically aware. She is courted by several of those politicians and military men who all want to marry her, except for the one with who she is truly in love. Because of her personal situation at the time, she, in 1828, becomes the unofficial first lady to help her old friend - "old" both in terms of age and length of time - Andrew Jackson, who has just been elected President of the United States. Jackson and Peggy have the same political outlook, where the union of the states is paramount, especially when many states see their rights as being more important than the union. Jackson had a rough ride during the election in large part because his wife, Rachel Jackson, was seen as a pipe smoking hayseed, unfit to live in the White House. On her deathbed, Rachel asked Peggy to take care of Jackson. Peggy, as unofficial first lady, gets as rough a ride as Rachel did, because of her own marital status and the undue influence she may assert over Jackson. Because of her relationship with Jackson, Peggy has to decide which of the conflicting issues of her political convictions, being with the man she truly loves or respectability is of greatest priority in her life.

That's a question we can't answer, but we can tell you how Jackson got to be president, and how he changed the country when he got the job. Jackson's election was more democratic than any previous presidential election. More people were able to vote, and they picked a doozie. Jackson was a well-known war hero, and he was elected over his longtime political enemy, John Quincy Adams. Once Jackson was in office, he did more to expand executive power than any of the previous occupants of the White House. He used armed troops to collect taxes, refused to enforce legislation and supreme court legislation, and hired and fired his staff based on support in elections. It redefines Andrew Jackson, America's seventh President, as an Emo rock star and focuses on populism, the Indian Removal Act, and his relationship with his wife Rachel. The show premiered on Broadway at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre, with previews starting on September 21, 2010 and opening night October 13, 2010. Many of the cast from the off-Broadway production reprised their roles, including Benjamin Walker in the title role, Maria Elena Ramirez, Jeff Hiller and Lucas Near-Verbrugghe.

Andrew Lesnie, Cinematographer for 'The Lord of the Rings' and 'Hobbit' Films, Dies at 59
Andrew Lesnie, the Oscar-winning cinematographer who spent more than a decade collaborating with director Peter Jackson on the six Lord of the Rings and Hobbit films, has died. He was 59-years-old. The Sydney native, who also worked with New Zealander Jackson on the remake of King Kong (2005) and The Lovely Bones (2009), was believed to have suffered a heart attack on Monday. She is an advisory board member of the Partnership for a Secure America (PSA), which is chaired by brother CFR members Warren B. Rudman and Lee H. Hamilton. Rudman was Jesuit-trained at Boston College Law School and Lee Hamilton has close ties to the Jesuit Order's Knight of Malta-directed Central Intelligence Agency. Hills is also on the board of American International Group (AIG), which CFR corporate member is run by Edward Liddy (its CEO), who was trained at the Catholic University of America.
Since 1993, Hills has been on the board of Chevron, along with brother CFR member Donald S. Rice, who was trained at the Roman Catholic University of Notre Dame, its President Emeritus being long time CFR member, Roman Priest Theodore Hesburgh, one of the Vatican's foremost leaders of Pope Benedict XVI's 14th Amendment American Empire.
The other Co-Chairman of the CFR is Jewish Freemason Robert E. Rubin, who served under President Bill Clinton as Treasury Secretary and headed Clinton's National Economic Council. He was a Clinton crony.

Andrew Lesnie, the Oscar-winning cinematographer who spent more than a decade collaborating with director Peter Jackson on the six Lord of the Rings and Hobbit films, has died. He was 59-years-old.
The Sydney native, who also worked with New Zealander Jackson on the remake of King Kong (2005) and The Lovely Bones (2009), was believed to have suffered a heart attack on Monday.
A spokesman from the Australian Cinematographers Society said: “We have been advised of the sudden death of Andrew,” adding that his family would provide an official statement later.

The Petticoat affair (also known as the Eaton affair or the Eaton malaria) was an 1830--1831 U.S. scandal involving members of President Andrew Jackson's Cabinet and their wives. Although it started over a private matter, it affected the political careers of several men and resulted in the informal "Kitchen Cabinet". The 1936 film The Gorgeous Hussy is based on the affair.
Following the death of John Timberlake, Margaret continued to spend her time at The Franklin House, assisting her mother and father with the running of the establishment as she had done during her marriage.[2] Her continued employment in her parent's boardinghouse was a non-stop source of irritation to the social elite in Washington D.C., for it was seen as improper for a woman attempting to climb the social ladder to continue in such a vocation. It was here, too, that she continued to associate with John Eaton.[3] Rumors spread that Eaton and Mrs. Timberlake were having an adulterous affair as she continued to see John Eaton.[5] Their bond grew closer as he consoled her over the death of her husband.
Following her husband's death, in 1828, John Henry Eaton and Andrew Jackson spent an extended period at The Hermitage in Tennessee often discussing the widow Mrs. Timberlake.[2] Eaton wanted Jackson's opinion on marrying Mrs. Timberlake. He told Jackson, that he would "at a proper time...tender to her the offer to share my life and prospects with her.[2]" To this Jackson gave his support, and on New Year's Day, 1829 the two were married.[3]
This marriage did not assuage the rumors of the now Mrs. Eaton's infidelities, nor did it help her social standing. On the contrary, having not waited the socially acceptable mourning period between her first husband's death and her remarriage, she further offended the social elite in Washington. There was an ornate ritual that widows were to prescribe that indicated respect and acceptable manner of grieving for the deceased. By not adhering to these customs the widow Timberlake showed lack of character and gentility of the bereft that was expected by Washington's social elites . So the wedding resulted in a schism in the Washington social scene, with prominent wives refusing to attend. Margaret Bayard Smith, an established Washington socialite, stated to her sister that several women invited "declare they will not go...and if they can help it will not let their husbands go.[3]"
The Eatons' actions caused a sensation among Washington's elite, especially many women. Second Lady Floride Calhoun, the wife of Vice President John C. Calhoun, led a phalanx of other Cabinet wives in an "anti-Peggy" coalition. Andrew Jackson's late wife, Rachel, had a niece, Emily Donelson, whom Jackson called on as his surrogate "First Lady"; she sided with the Calhoun faction. Martin Van Buren, a widower and the only member of the Cabinet whose spouse was not alive at the time, allied himself with the Eatons. The most important supporter of the new Mrs. Eaton was the sitting President, Andrew Jackson, who having felt the wrath of society towards his own marriage sympathized Mrs. Eaton's plight .
In a letter from Kentuckian John Waller Barry, an attorney, public servant and close personal friend of President Andrew Jackson to his daughter on 25 February 1830 describes the events in Washington. He describes the situation during a Cabinet dinner Washington on February 23,"All were present but Mr. Berrien, who was sick...A few men and women of our own party, stimulated by the coalition, still are busy with Mrs. Eaton's character. She however is sustained by the Foreign Ministers; indeed, a favorite with some of them because of her [persecution], and by many members of Congress of both houses and their families. Society is unhappy and divided about her but [her] circle of acquaintance is large and respectable. My family visits all parties, and will continue to do so. I will not join the band of calumniators and will stand by and sustain Major Eaton against such vial assaults; but his and Mrs. Eaton's difficulties are not mine, nor do they desire to consider them so. I my course has endeared me to General Jackson; it has to Mr. E., and some of Mr. Calhoun's are jealous of me, but utterly without cause, for I like Mr. C and Mr. Van B..." [6] This excerpt gives a brief look into the thoughts of those supporting the Presidents and his choice of Mr. Eaton.

Marcel the 13-year-old music journalist interviews Andrew Jackson Jihad at The Crepe Place in Santa Cruz, California. Special thanks to Marc, the band's tour manager who filmed the interview, and Launch Brigade for helping upload the interview. After we did the interview, me and lead singer Sean headed over to the local skate park to do some shredding. The next morning, we all met up yet again to have some fun down at the arcade at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Me, Sean, Ben and the band's tour manager (who filmed the interview) played a couple rounds of air hockey for some footage they were shooting for an upcoming music video. Additionally the video is directed by Against Me's Andrew Seward and was filmed in Medford, OR in under 4 hours during a day off while AJJ were touring with Against Me! Marcel the 13-year-old music journalist interviews Andrew Jackson Jihad at The Crepe Place in Santa Cruz, California. Special thanks to Marc, the band's tour manager who filmed the interview, and Launch Brigade for helping upload the interview.
After we did the interview, me and lead singer Sean headed over to the local skate park to do some shredding. The next morning, we all met up yet again to have some fun down at the arcade at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Me, Sean, Ben and the band's tour manager (who filmed the interview) played a couple rounds of air hockey for some footage they were shooting for an upcoming music video. After that we then headed over to the local record shop Metavinyl to pick up some goodies. It was overall just an unforgettable experience that I will be forever grateful for.

Additionally the video is directed by Against Me's Andrew Seward and was filmed in Medford, OR in under 4 hours during a day off while AJJ were touring with Against Me! The character of Slash was originally supposed to be Brian May from Queen, but the band couldn't find a shirt frilly enough.
