David (/ˈdeɪvɪd/; Hebrew: דָּוִד, Modern David, Tiberian Dāwîḏ;ISO 259-3 Dawid; Arabic: داوُد Dāwūd; Syriac: ܕܘܝܕ Dawid; Ancient Greek: Δαυίδ; Latin: Davidus, David; Strong's: Daveed) was, according to the Books of Samuel, the second king of the United Kingdom of Israel, and according to the New Testament, an ancestor of Jesus. His life is conventionally dated to c. 1040 – 970 BCE, his reign over Judah c. 1010–970 BCE.
The Books of Samuel, 1 Kings, and 1 Chronicles are the only Old Testament sources of information on David, although the Tel Dan Stele (dated c. 850–835 BCE) contains the phrase בית דוד (bytdwd), read as "House of David", which many scholars confirm to be a likely plausible match to the existence in the mid-9th century BCE of a Judean royal dynasty called the House of David.
Depicted as a valorous warrior of great renown, and a poet and musician credited for composing much of the psalms contained in the Book of Psalms, King David is widely viewed as a righteous and effective king in battle and civil justice. He is described as a man after God's own heart in 1 Samuel 13:14 and Acts 13:22.
David Dixon (born 28 October 1947) is an English actor and screenwriter. He was born in the Nightingale Maternity Home, Derby, near his father's shop in London Road and brought up there before the family moved to Normanton in 1959.
Dixon's most notable role was in the 1981 BBC TV series The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy in which he starred as Ford Prefect. He also received critical acclaim for his portrayal of Ariel in the 1980 BBC version of "The Tempest". He would later rejoin the Hitchhiker's Guide by lending his voice to the "Ecological Man" and the "Zirzla Leader" in Fit the Twentieth of the Radio Series, while Geoffrey McGivern, who had originally played the character on radio, returned to the role of Ford.
Despite a relatively sparse TV and Film career, David Dixon has over the years acquired a loyal fan following online who call themselves "Dixonites".

Plot: 'David Dixon is dead.' is a documentary of past events and of events that have yet to come. Therefore, it is a fiction, but one built solidly on the real-life public declaration by its maker, David Dixon, which states that after his death his head should be removed from his body and cleaned to the skull, the skull then included in an art piece. The film explores the implications of this declaration, going so far as to kill its maker, opening the film to a fictive future where the filmmaker's father comes to New York City to deal with his son's final dispensation, ultimately leading to Oklahoma City, Dixon's head now in a cooler.
