Interstate 8 (I-8) is an Interstate Highway in the southwestern United States. It runs from the southern edge of Mission Bay at Sunset Cliffs Boulevard, in San Diego, California, almost at the Pacific Ocean, to the junction with I-10, just southeast of Casa Grande, Arizona. In California, the freeway travels through the San Diego metropolitan area as the Ocean Beach Freeway and the Mission Valley Freeway before traversing the Cuyamaca Mountains and providing access through the Imperial Valley, including the city of El Centro. Crossing the Colorado River into Arizona, I-8 continues through the city of Yuma across the Sonoran Desert to Casa Grande, in between the cities of Phoenix and Tucson.
The first route over the Cuyamaca Mountains was dedicated in 1912, and a plank road served as the first road across the Imperial Valley to Yuma; east of there, the Gila Trail continued east to Gila Bend. These were later replaced by U.S. Route 80 (US 80) across California and part of Arizona, and Arizona State Route 84 (SR 84) between Gila Bend and Casa Grande. The US 80 freeway through San Diego was largely complete by the time it was renumbered as I-8 in the 1964 state highway renumbering; east of San Diego, the US 80 roadway was slowly replaced by I-8 as construction progressed in the Imperial Valley. The Arizona portion of the road was built starting in the 1960s. Several controversies erupted during the construction process; questionable labor practices in Imperial County led to the federal conviction of mobster Jimmy Fratianno, and the Arizona government was found to have mismanaged financial resources by the U.S. House of Representatives subcommittee.

Modest Mouse is an American rock band formed in 1992 in Issaquah, Washington and currently based in Portland, Oregon. The founding members of this group are lead singer/guitarist Isaac Brock, drummer Jeremiah Green, and bassist Eric Judy. Strongly influenced by groups such as Pavement, the Pixies, XTC, and Talking Heads, the band rehearsed, rearranged, and recorded demos for almost two years before finally signing with small-town indie label, K Records, and releasing numerous singles. Since the band's 1996 debut album, This Is a Long Drive for Someone with Nothing to Think About, the group's lineup has centered on Brock and Green. Judy performed on every Modest Mouse album until his departure in 2012. Guitarist Johnny Marr (formerly of the Smiths) joined the band in 2006, shortly following percussionist Joe Plummer (formerly of the Black Heart Procession) and multi-instrumentalist Tom Peloso, to work on the album We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank. Guitarist Jim Fairchild joined the band in 2009. The band's sixth album, Strangers to Ourselves, was released on March 17, 2015.
The Dwight D. Eisenhower National System of Interstate and Defense Highways (commonly known as the Interstate Highway System, Interstate Freeway System, Interstate System, or simply the Interstate) is a network of controlled-access highways that forms a part of the National Highway System of the United States. The system is named for President Dwight D. Eisenhower who championed its formation. Construction was authorized by the Federal Aid Highway Act of 1956, and the original portion was completed 35 years later, although some urban routes were cancelled and never built. The network has since been extended and, as of 2013, it had a total length of 47,856 miles (77,017 km), making it the world's second longest after China's. As of 2013, about one-quarter of all vehicle miles driven in the country use the Interstate system. The cost of construction has been estimated at $425 billion (in 2006 dollars).
The United States government's efforts to construct a national network of highways began on an ad hoc basis with the passage of the Federal Aid Road Act of 1916, which provided for $75 million over a five-year period for matching funds to the states for the construction and improvement of highways. The nation's revenue needs associated with World War I prevented any significant implementation of this policy, which expired in 1921.

The present-day I‑10 alignment along the Santa Cruz River was laid out after a city bond issue passed in 1948 to build a riverbank-side boulevard with room for a four-lane freeway in the median to follow. The first section of bypass artery, from Congress Street north to Miracle Mile West, was opened in 1954 but had no overpasses or interchanges at Grant Road, Speedway Boulevard or St. Mary's Road. The freeway was finally built after the state took over the bypass and promised it interstate status in 1958, and parts of it obliterated the original road. It was first signed SR 84. The old cloverleaf at Sixth Avenue was the first built in Arizona, opening in the early 1950s as a southern Tucson gateway junction to the roads linking Tucson, Benson, Nogales and the hoped-for Tucson bypass along...

Tips for riding motorcycle long distance. Many people asked me: How many km per day I am riding? It depends from many circumstances. It could be from 200 to 1200km. I don't have this answer, but what I have is 10 tips how to ride on long distance. 1. Start – always wake up before sunrise. If you do will have enough time for everything. Breakfast, preparing, toilet and so on. 2. Luggage – pack your back properly and fix it tight on your bike. Make sure that all the things, which you going to need on the road are in the easy to access position. 3. Fuel – always refill the bike before you go to sleep so you are not going to waste your time in the mornings. 4. Timing – ride strict. Make the brakes and refueling at the same time. Never ride more than 2 hours without stopping and never stop for...
In the beginning, driving along freeways or interstates can be daunting. Watch the video to learn about freeways. SUBSCRIBE TODAY! ► http://youtube.com/c/smartdrivetest On interstates and freeways, mile markers (MM) and exit numbers are one-and-the-same. When navigating along freeways and interstates, mile markers are your most important tool. Mile markers will allow you to precisely locate exits, junctions, and local attractions. As well, mile markers are a key defensive driving tool. If you know that you are getting off the freeway at MM 278 and you are currently at MM 273, you know that you have 5 miles (kilometres) before exiting. Thus, you are going to start getting into your lane in preparation for exiting the freeway. Most signboards on freeways and interstates are overhead. Be ...
I-5 continues northwest from downtown as the San Diego Freeway[11] until it reaches its junction with I-8, then turns slightly to the north while passing near SeaWorld and Mission Bay. Thereafter, I-5 interchanges with the western end of SR 52 before passing through the UC San Diego campus in University City near La Jolla. At Nobel Drive (exit 28A), the San Diego LDS Temple towers over I-5.[12] Shortly afterward, I-5 interchanges with the northern terminus of I-805 before continuing north and interchanging with the western end of SR 56. At this interchange, there is a recently completed local bypass that provides the only access to Carmel Mountain Road from both directions and provides the only access to SR 56 going northbound.[8] North of the San Diego city limits, I-5 enters into the ci...
