In the 1980's the Welsh actor Glyn Houston performed a hugely successful one-man play called "Chunks and Chips" using the autobiographical writing of Gwyn Thomas to bring his unique wisdom and dark observational humour back to life. This performance is a must for anyone who appreciates Welsh humour, great writing and superb acting.

George Herbert (April 3, 1593 -- March 1, 1633) was a Welsh poet, orator and a priest. Being born into an artistic and wealthy family, he received a good education which led on to him holding prominent positions at Cambridge University and Parliament. As a student at Trinity College, Cambridge, England, George Herbert excelled in languages and music. He went to college with the intention of becoming a priest, but his scholarship attracted the attention of King James I. Herbert served in parliament for two years. After the death of King James and at the urging of a friend, Herbert's interest in ordained ministry was renewed. In 1630, in his late thirties he gave up his secular ambitions and took holy orders in the Church of England, spending the rest of his life as a rector of the little parish of St. Andrew Bemerton, near Salisbury

3rd ATTEMPT - 1st attempt immediately blocked, 2nd attempt blocked after 3 days. Whilst Studio Canal has every right to protect their copyright, they are unable to distinguish between blatant exploitation and a genuine attempt to produce a promotional clip in the absence of the original trailer (the edits were all done from a legally bought DVD which has nothing but the film on it). I have given up trying to edit a decent 3rd attempt using different stills, instead this is only the main title with some non-copyright music added. Now on to my original blurb:
When Britain still had many factories and people were paid weekly in cash, payroll robberies were regular events. In Newcastle-upon-Tyne (but not a Geordie accent to be heard), a violent payroll robbery occurs, leading to unforeseen consequences for all involved. Although this is a superior British crime thriller, it is seriously flawed by the woeful miscasting of the head villain - Michael Craig is devoid of menace playing a "hard" man. The storyline also stretches credibility, betraying its origins as a crime novel. With the right lead actor (say, Stanley Baker) and a slightly re-worked script, this film could have been a classic. Compensating for the weak lead actor are good action scenes and location filming (some apparently also in Rugby, as well as Norfolk) and a strong supporting cast which includes William Lucas (perfect as the weak inside accomplice), the splendid Kenneth Griffith, Tom Bell, Andrew Faulds (who later became a Labour MP, proof that Parliament is just theatre), and Glyn Houston. The female leads add more strength, French actress Françoise Prévost plays a sexy and deceitful wife, Billie Whitelaw plays an avenging wife, although her role is far-fetched. For American release, some clown came up with the alternative title "I Promised To Pay", but the French were closer to the mark with "Les Gangsters".

Houston (
/ˈhjuːstən/) (Alibamu: Yosti ) is the largest city in the state of Texas, and the fourth-largest city in the United States. According to the 2010 U.S. Census, the city had a population of 2.1 million people within an area of 656.3 square miles (1,700 km2). Houston is the seat of Harris County and the economic center of Houston–Sugar Land–Baytown, which is the fifth-largest metropolitan area in the United States, with 6.08 million people as of July 1st, 2011.
Houston was founded in 1836 on land near the banks of Buffalo Bayou. It was incorporated as a city on June 5, 1837, and named after then-President of the Republic of Texas—former General Sam Houston—who had commanded at the Battle of San Jacinto, which took place 25 miles (40 km) east of where the city was established. The burgeoning port and railroad industry, combined with oil discovery in 1901, has induced continual surges in the city's population. In the mid-twentieth century, Houston became the home of the Texas Medical Center—the world's largest concentration of healthcare and research institutions—and NASA's Johnson Space Center, where the Mission Control Center is located.

Glyn Houston (born in Tonypandy, Wales on 23 October 1926), is an actor best known for his television work. He is the brother of the late film actor Donald Houston.
Houston served in the army prior to and during World War II, and was briefly a stand-up comedian performing to soldiers during the war. He made his first film appearance in The Blue Lamp in 1950.
Perhaps Glyn Houston's most notable role was as "Duncan Thomas", literary agent, in the 1980s British sitcom Keep It in the Family. He appeared in a number of films including The Great Game.
In the 1970s he played Lord Peter Wimsey's valet Bunter opposite Ian Carmichael in the teleplays of several of Dorothy Sayers tales. His performance was praised in the New York Times. In his critique of the 1980s BBC1 dramatization of the Harriet Vane stories, reviewer Marvin Kitman mistakenly wrote that Houston was miscast in the role of Bunter. In fact, actor Richard Morant portrayed the character in that series.
Other credits included My Good Woman (1973–1974), Inspector Morse, It Ain't Half Hot Mum, Minder and Doomwatch, as well as the recurring character "Det Supt Jones" in Softly, Softly.

George Herbert (April 3, 1593 -- March 1, 1633) was a Welsh poet, orator and a priest. Being born into an artistic and wealthy family, he received a good education which led on to him holding prominent positions at Cambridge University and Parliament. As a student at Trinity College, Cambridge, England, George Herbert excelled in languages and music. He went to college with the intention of becoming a priest, but his scholarship attracted the attention of King James I. Herbert served in parliament for two years. After the death of King James and at the urging of a friend, Herbert's interest in ordained ministry was renewed. George Herbert (April 3, 1593 -- March 1, 1633) was a Welsh poet, orator and a priest. Being born into an artistic and wealthy family, he received a good education which led on to him holding prominent positions at Cambridge University and Parliament. As a student at Trinity College, Cambridge, England, George Herbert excelled in languages and music. He went to college with the intention of becoming a priest, but his scholarship attracted the attention of King James I. Herbert served in parliament for two years. After the death of King James and at the urging of a friend, Herbert's interest in ordained ministry was renewed. In 1630, in his late thirties he gave up his secular ambitions and took holy orders in the Church of England, spending the rest of his life as a rector of the little parish of St. Andrew Bemerton, near Salisbury

3rd ATTEMPT - 1st attempt immediately blocked, 2nd attempt blocked after 3 days. Whilst Studio Canal has every right to protect their copyright, they are unable to distinguish between blatant exploitation and a genuine attempt to produce a promotional clip in the absence of the original trailer (the edits were all done from a legally bought DVD which has nothing but the film on it). I have given up trying to edit a decent 3rd attempt using different stills, instead this is only the main title with some non-copyright music added. Now on to my original blurb:
When Britain still had many factories and people were paid weekly in cash, payroll robberies were regular events. In Newcastle-upon-Tyne (but not a Geordie accent to be heard), a violent payroll robbery occurs, leading to unforeseen consequences for all involved. Although this is a superior British crime thriller, it is seriously flawed by the woeful miscasting of the head villain - Michael Craig is devoid of menace playing a "hard" man. The storyline also stretches credibility, betraying its origins as a crime novel. With the right lead actor (say, Stanley Baker) and a slightly re-worked script, this film could have been a classic. Compensating for the weak lead actor are good action scenes and location filming (some apparently also in Rugby, as well as Norfolk) and a strong supporting cast which includes William Lucas (perfect as the weak inside accomplice), the splendid Kenneth Griffith, Tom Bell, Andrew Faulds (who later became a Labour MP, proof that Parliament is just theatre), and Glyn Houston. The female leads add more strength, French actress Françoise Prévost plays a sexy and deceitful wife, Billie Whitelaw plays an avenging wife, although her role is far-fetched. For American release, some clown came up with the alternative title "I Promised To Pay", but the French were closer to the mark with "Les Gangsters".
