Bhatt, meaning a priest or scribe in Sanskrit, is a surname common in most parts of India.
A predominantly Hindu last name, it is found most commonly in the states of Gujarat, Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Kumaon and Garhwal in Uttarakhand, Doti and some parts of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal.

Anupam Kher (born 7 March 1955) is an Indian actor who has appeared in nearly 450 films and 100 plays. Though mainly appearing in Bollywood films, he has had roles in some films from other nations as well. He has held the post of Chairman of the Censor Board and National School of Drama in India.
Anupam Kher was born into a Kashmiri Pandit family and lived in Shimla and was educated at D.A.V. School there. He is an alumnus and a former chairperson of the National School of Drama. Some of his early acting was in plays performed at the Himachal Pradesh University.
Kher made his acting debut in the 1982 Hindi movie Aagman. Then in 1984 came Saaransh, where 28-year old Kher played a retired man who has lost his son. He hosted TV shows such as Say Na Something To Anupam Uncle, Sawaal Dus Crore Ka and the recent Lead India. He has had many comic roles but has also played the villain such as his acclaimed role as terrorist Dr. Dang in Karma (1986). For his role in Daddy (1989) he received the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Performance. Kher has won the Filmfare Award for Best Performance in a Comic Role five times, more than any other actor.

Plot: In a quaint village of Haryana lives Miny, a free-spirited tomboy who instantly wins your heart with her bubbly personality. Her father, Bhatti, runs an auto-rickshaw business and is adamant to marry her off against her liking to Sunny. The male protagonist Viren, is a humble and ambitious rickshaw driver working for Miny's father. Bhatti, insecure about Viren's success, sells of all the rickshaws where Viren had carefully stashed his life savings. In an attempt to recover his money from Bhatti, Viren storms into Miny's engagement with fury. This gives Miny the perfect opportunity to escape her marriage and so she stages a kidnap. However, the kidnap goes all wrong and she and Viren land up in Viren's family mansion. Eventually, Miny's father arrives with the ransom that she had asked for and takes her back home. Back in Punjab, while she is being married off to Sunny, it dawns on Viren to go rescue her as he realizes his love for her. But will he manage to do so is what remains to be seen in a dramatic and comic climax.

Plot: Science College Principal Tripathi is critized by the college professors during a meeting due to his younger brother, Ajay, failing twice and losing two years. Tripathi is angry with Ajay and wants him to drop poetry and poems and concentrate on his studies. Ajay does not do so, and instead leaves the house, telling his brother that he will establish himself as a poet and then return home. He submits his poems for publication, and is told that there is something lacking in them. He meets with an falls in love with beautiful Nikita, who is only daughter of a wealthy industrialist. Ajay wants to establish himself before he gets married, and relocates to Bombay. Once there, he gets involved with a Bollywood actress, Jyoti, and takes to gambling and drinking. His submitted poems are stolen by a couple of shady men, who rake in a lot of money, leaving Ajay with a mere pittance. Nikita goes to Bombay and finds Ajay, a wasted young man, very different from the one she had seen earlier. Together they must try and put his life together, so that he can keep his promise to his brother.
