Vincent M. Ward who is an actor best known for his portrail of
Oscar on
AMC's The Walking Dead. He has been working in
Hollywood for over ten years. He made his on-screen debut back in
2000 when he landed a role in the hit blockbuster film
Traffic and has since then appeared in other box office favorites such as
Oceans 11 and Bringing down the
House.
Ward has also secured an impressive roster of TV credits that continues to grow. This resume coupled with the nationwide launch of his production company
V.M.W. Productions, has solidified his place in Hollywood. Now, he is making a name for himself
as "The Next Big Thing" in entertainment and shows no signs of slowing down.
Born on
January 27th,
1971,
Vincent has always found himself in the spotlight. In high school he was an All-American athlete who enjoyed playing
Football and
Baseball before selecting
Basketball as his sport of choice. He excelled throughout high school and became known as one of the best players in the state of
Ohio. After graduation, Ward switched gears to explore his love of dance, forming a Hip-Hop dance group and traveling with other performers who toured with the likes of
Public Enemy, MC
Light,
X-Clan,
MC Hammer, and the late
Heavy D among others. Ward relocated to
Fort Walton Beach, Florida in an effort to further his career in dance, a move that would prove less promising as time progressed.
Soon he was at a cross-road and decided to head back to school to take another shot at Basketball. Vincent received a scholarship to play Basketball at
South Suburban College in
Chicago, Illinois. He maintained for two and a half years and during this time, he fathered 2 children.
Life would find him back home in
Dayton shortly thereafter where he settled for work at companies like
General Motors (GM) and
Champs Sports. In his quest for a better career and quality of life, he began to look toward
Man of the Year" and "Sexiest Man of the Year" respectively. The competitions allowed Ward to segue into Acting and his passion for the artistry was instantaneous. Even with no formal training, Vincent was able to secure a spot with a traveling
Theatre company whose goal was to produce thought provoking and educational stage plays. Since then he has been featured in a number of sold out productions including
Men Cry Too, Nylons,
Heaven Bound, and
Come Sunday. Each performance is a true testament that he has found his calling!
Charm, stellar acting chops, strong personality and killer good looks were just some of the attributes that helped Ward cross over to TV and
Film. He secured re-occurring roles in
Everybody Hates Chris and
The Starter Wife and has also appeared in primetime shows
Hot in Cleveland,
NCIS and
HBO's
True Blood. You can also catch him on an episode of
Tyler Perry's:
House of Payne, in the role of "Lil
Deuce" airing
December 2011 on
TBS. In
2012, supporters can expect great things from Vincent M. Ward, as he commissions a number of new projects under his company V.M.W. Productions. His philanthropic efforts will increase as he supports various organizations benefitting underprivileged children and families across the
United States. Ward is also proud to partner with
Southern Peach Entertainment to present and host a different kind of reality show that brings families together called
America's
Chef.
Join him as he travels the nation on a quest to find the next homegrown culinary talent. He will meet and cook with family matriarchs who are known for flexing their skills in the kitchen. From sampling delectable cuisine to tasty treats, there can only be one winner but the competition is oh so good. (
