RUMINATIONS: There’s not much to say about this episode that isn’t already said, since it itself IS ruminations about my past mistakes and whatnot. It is amusing, in retrospect, how different things seemed three years ago on the site. There was a general feeling among a lot of producers of uncertainty about the future, particularly now that the
Nostalgia Critic was gone and the main draw for a lot of people to the site had ended. It bugged the hell out of me that so many other talented, wonderful producers were discarded simply because they weren’t the Critic, or that people felt they needed to announce “
Everything sucks now without the Critic.”
It’s such an odd mindset.
Sure, personal preference is going to mean that people just might not like those other producers, but it’s really weird to me that they would make such a statement. Do people do that with
TV shows, too? That they only watch a SINGLE
TV show on a channel and then when it ends they say everything sucks now?
My most vivid memory with editing this one was how much I was struggling to get it done –
Premiere kept crashing, errors were cropping up… And bear in mind, this is a clip show using files the damn thing had already rendered out previously. I was still a little miserable from being sick the previous week and having an erratic sleep schedule, so once this episode was done with, I just decided “
Screw it” and took the rest of the morning off to watch the
Doctor Who Christmas special and enjoyed the hell out of it (it was the
Doctor, the
Widow, and the
Wardrobe, which I know was not a popular one, but damn it, I was determined to like it and I did).
EDITED:
Apparently I have my exhaustion stories mixed up, since that was the year before it. That's how tired I was - that I was confusing my tiredness of one year with another. XD
But hey, that’s 2012 – a year that had its ups and downs, with the development of the storyline, growing characterization, and me being exhausted half the time from doing all that.
Onto 2013 and what I consider to be one of, if not my best year of doing videos.
