Went to Togonan Falls of Brgy. Marayag, Mainit, Surigao del Norte last October 12, 2014, Sunday, 12:00PM-2:30PM :D :D :D
I know that there are a lot of people who would want to visit this newly developed natural attraction but there's not a lot of info on the net on how to get there, only pictures of the place. That is the reason why I made this clip - to help / guide people on how to get to Togonan Falls of Brgy. Marayag, Mainit, Surigao del Norte! You're welcome, by the way! :D
How to Get There -
Option 1: Naog sa rotonda / entrance ng Magpayang, then u can ride a habal2x going to the falls.
Option 2: Suyod sa Magpayang, diretsoha lang ang dalan, then turn to the rough road on your right, just BEFORE the fork road (as shown in Google Maps on the opening part of my video). If u don't have a car, there are also habal2x's (one way fare is P50.00) waiting to take you to the falls as you turn right :D Then subaya ra ang dayan / just go straight ahead and be prepared for a bumpy ride of about 3 kilometers until you reach Brgy. Marayag's Gym (this is the landmark that tells you you're super close to the entrance). When you reach Marayag's Gym, you then TURN LEFT to where the flags are... Then boom! Before you know it, you're already at the entrance.
Option 3 - You can use this route i made on Strava - https://www.strava.com/routes/4162674
How's the road going there? Well, as of now it is still a rough road. Don't bring a car that has a low clearance to the ground as huge rocks from the road will only damage/scratch it's under chassis... Only bring pick-up trucks, motorcycles, SUVs or even a mountain bike (if you dare)! :D Better yet just go ride the habal2x hehehe ^_^ Also there is a part of the road that's narrow (only one lane) so goodluck if two cars going the opposite direction pass by it at the same time! o_O
Overall, it's a really nice place! Very refreshing! I highly recommend you ride the bamboo raft (it's FREE) and get close to the waterfalls and have the biggest shower / best back massage of your life hehehe. Super nag enjoy jod ko. What is, tagaw og waterfalls! lol Finally, a powerful waterfalls that's close to Surigao City! :D Kudos for developing this place! I hope the road going to Togonan Falls will be widened and cemented soon. And I hope more of Surigao / Caraga's natural attractions will be developed soon... :D
Togonan Falls FYI - The waterfalls is said to be around 70 feet high! Whoa! And is only a 1 hour drive from Surigao City! :) What are you waiting for? GO na people!!! Also, it is said that there are 300 easy steps going down the waterfalls proper. But dle naman na nimo mapansin sa sobra nimo ka-excited makita ang falls ^_^ hehe

September 7, 2015 10:00 AM - Our Diving Cave Adventure Video of Sohoton National Park's "Diving Cave" @ Bucas Grande, Siargao Island, Surigao del Norte. Diving cave because after you've entered and climbed the cave, there's no where else to go but jump the 20 ft cliff to exit! hehehe :) mga tagaw og talawarns! XD super kakoyba but definitely worth it! Highly recommended sa mga daredevils & adrenaline junkies out there! Mubo ra lantawon sa ubos, pero pag naa na ka sa diving platform, medyo kuyba sab gajod iambak! hahaha :D Route / how to get there - we hired / ride a van from the Surigao City Terminal that has a Hayanggabon, Claver route @ 6AM or 7AM, when we reached Hayanggabon Port (about 1hr van ride), we hired a boat to go to Sohoton National Park. That's it. I think this is a much faster route than riding the boat / lantsa from Surigao Boulevard to Dapa, Siargao because Hayanngabon Port in Claver is so much closer to Sohoton. Google Map it! Hehe :D

Sohoton from the word sohot, which means "to enter by lowering one's head" (loose translation).
This hidden wonder of Surigao del Norte. We passed by the Puting Bato (White Stone) formation wherein they believed the Dogukan tree was used to stand tall. The said tree believed to be magical as no one can cut it unless that perosn has 'magical powers' like anting-anitng. The leaves of the Dogukan tree was believed to be eaten by fishes.

Surigao del Norte (Filipino:Hilagang Surihaw) is a province of the Philippines located in the Caraga region in Mindanao. Its capital is Surigao City. The province consists of three major islands—Siargao Island, Dinagat Islands, and Bucas Grande Island—in the Philippine Sea, and a small region at the northernmost tip of the island of Mindanao.
Surigao del Norte is a mosaic of islands at the rim of the Asian continental shelf. It is perched at the north-eastern tip of Mindanao and faces that abysmal canyon known as the Philippine Deep. It is bounded by the Dinagat Islands on the north, east by the vast Pacific Ocean, south by the Provinces of Agusan del Norte and Surigao del Sur, and on the west by the historic Surigao Strait.
The province also has many caves and tunnels in its islands. Some are half-submerged in water most of the time and could be accessed only during low tides like the Suhoton Cave at Bucas Grande Island.
Its biggest islands are usually mountainous and rich in minerals. Nonoc Island has one of the world's largest deposits of nickel. The smaller ones either rest on sand and gravel or have a limestone base bonded by boulders, reefs and sandbars. Some islets like those in Del Carmen in Siargao Island are actually nothing more than a cluster of rock formations jutting out from the sea crowned with shrubs and coconut trees. There are also springs, lagoons, caves, waterfalls, mangroves, marshes and whirlpools which are more appealing to all nature lovers.
Such is the image of Surigao del Norte. It is a montage of history and unspoiled beauty. An untouched eden warmed by smiles of people with unquenching thirst for an exuberant lifestyle.

Claver is a first-class municipality in the province of Surigao del Norte, Philippines. With a total land area of 322.60 square kilometres (124.56 sq mi), it is the largest municipality of the province. As of the 2010 census, it has a population of 23,702 people.
In the north-east, it is bounded by the Pacific Ocean, to the west by the town of Gigaquit, and to the south by the boundary town of Carrascal, Surigao del Sur. It is approximately 60 kilometres (37 mi) southeast of the provincial capital, Surigao City. The town can be reached by bus, van-for-hire and jeepney from the Surigao Integrated Bus & Jeepney Terminal or at any point along the national highway. Its patron saint is St. Peter Claver and fiesta is celebrated every ninth day of September.
A large part of the municipal land area is a mining reservation because there are large iron mineral deposits.

I know that there are a lot of people who would want to visit this newly developed natural attraction but there's not a lot of info on the net on how to get there, only pictures of the place. That is the reason why I made this clip - to help / guide people on how to get to Togonan Falls of Brgy. Marayag, Mainit, Surigao del Norte! You're welcome, by the way! :D
How to Get There -
Option 1: Naog sa rotonda / entrance ng Magpayang, then u can ride a habal2x going to the falls.
Option 2: Suyod sa Magpayang, diretsoha lang ang dalan, then turn to the rough road on your right, just BEFORE the fork road (as shown in Google Maps on the opening part of my video). If u don't have a car, there are also habal2x's (one way fare is P50.00) waiting to take you to the falls as you turn right :D Then subaya ra ang dayan / just go straight ahead and be prepared for a bumpy ride of about 3 kilometers until you reach Brgy. Marayag's Gym (this is the landmark that tells you you're super close to the entrance). When you reach Marayag's Gym, you then TURN LEFT to where the flags are... Then boom! Before you know it, you're already at the entrance.

How's the road going there? Well, as of now it is still a rough road. Don't bring a car that has a low clearance to the ground as huge rocks from the road will only damage/scratch it's under chassis... Only bring pick-up trucks, motorcycles, SUVs or even a mountain bike (if you dare)! :D Better yet just go ride the habal2x hehehe ^_^ Also there is a part of the road that's narrow (only one lane) so goodluck if two cars going the opposite direction pass by it at the same time! o_O
Overall, it's a really nice place! Very refreshing! I highly recommend you ride the bamboo raft (it's FREE) and get close to the waterfalls and have the biggest shower / best back massage of your life hehehe. Super nag enjoy jod ko. What is, tagaw og waterfalls! lol Finally, a powerful waterfalls that's close to Surigao City! :D Kudos for developing this place! I hope the road going to Togonan Falls will be widened and cemented soon. And I hope more of Surigao / Caraga's natural attractions will be developed soon... :D

XD super kakoyba but definitely worth it! Highly recommended sa mga daredevils & adrenaline junkies out there! Mubo ra lantawon sa ubos, pero pag naa na ka sa diving platform, medyo kuyba sab gajod iambak! hahaha :D Route / how to get there - we hired / ride a van from the Surigao City Terminal that has a Hayanggabon, Claver route @ 6AM or 7AM, when we reached Hayanggabon Port (about 1hr van ride), we hired a boat to go to Sohoton National Park. That's it. I think this is a much faster route than riding the boat / lantsa from Surigao Boulevard to Dapa, Siargao because Hayanngabon Port in Claver is so much closer to Sohoton. Google Map it! Hehe :D

The said tree believed to be magical as no one can cut it unless that perosn has 'magical powers' like anting-anitng. The leaves of the Dogukan tree was believed to be eaten by fishes.

Surigao del Norte is a mosaic of islands at the rim of the Asian continental shelf. It is perched at the north-eastern tip of Mindanao and faces that abysmal canyon known as the Philippine Deep. It is bounded by the Dinagat Islands on the north, east by the vast Pacific Ocean, south by the Provinces of Agusan del Norte and Surigao del Sur, and on the west by the historic Surigao Strait.
The province also has many caves and tunnels in its islands. Some are half-submerged in water most of the time and could be accessed only during low tides like the Suhoton Cave at Bucas Grande Island.
Its biggest islands are usually mountainous and rich in minerals. Nonoc Island has one of the world's largest deposits of nickel. The smaller ones either rest on sand and gravel or have a limestone base bonded by boulders, reefs and sandbars. Some islets like those in Del Carmen in Siargao Island are actually nothing more than a cluster of rock formations jutting out from the sea crowned with shrubs and coconut trees. There are also springs, lagoons, caves, waterfalls, mangroves, marshes and whirlpools which are more appealing to all nature lovers.
Such is the image of Surigao del Norte. It is a montage of history and unspoiled beauty. An untouched eden warmed by smiles of people with unquenching thirst for an exuberant lifestyle.
