Carl Milles (23 June 1875 – 19 September 1955) was a Swedish sculptor. He was married to artist Olga Milles and brother to Ruth Milles and half brother to the architect Evert Milles. Carl Milles sculpted the Poseidon statue in Gothenburg, the Gustaf Vasa statue at the Nordic Museum, the Orpheus group outside the Stockholm Concert Hall and the Folke Filbyter sculpture in Linköping. The latter was featured on a stamp issued in 1975 commemorating the centenary of his birth. Millesgården became his last home and is now a museum.
Milles was born Carl Wilhelm Andersson, son of lieutenant Emil "Mille" Andersson and his wife Walborg Tisell, (June 23, 1875 – September 19, 1955) at Lagga outside Uppsala in 1875. In 1897 he made what he thought would be a temporary stop in Paris on his way to Chile, where he was due to manage a school of gymnastics. However, he remained in Paris, where he studied art, working in Auguste Rodin's studio and slowly gaining recognition as a sculptor. In 1904 he and Olga moved to Munich.
Charles Laughton (1 July 1899 – 15 December 1962) was an English stage and film character actor, director, producer and screenwriter who had a successful career in Hollywood.
Laughton was trained in London at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and first appeared professionally on the stage in 1926. In 1927, he was cast in a play with his future wife Elsa Lanchester, with whom he lived and worked until his death; they had no children.
He played a wide range of classical and modern parts, making a big impact in Shakespeare at the Old Vic. His film career took him to Broadway and then Hollywood, but he also collaborated with Alexander Korda on some of the most notable British films of the era, including The Private Life of Henry VIII.
Laughton, was one of the most recognisable and beloved character actors of his generation, and portrayed everything from monsters and misfits to kings. Among Laughton's biggest film-hits were The Barretts of Wimpole Street, Mutiny on the Bounty, Ruggles of Red Gap, Jamaica Inn, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and The Big Clock. In his later career, he took up stage directing, notably in The Caine Mutiny Court Martial, and George Bernard Shaw's Don Juan in Hell, in which he also starred. He directed one film, the acclaimed thriller The Night of the Hunter.
The newly married artist couple Carl and Olga Milles acquired a property 1906 on the cliff of Herserud high above Stockholm's Lake Värtan on the island of Lidingö. Their intention was to build a home incorporating space for their art studios. The house was designed by architect Carl M. Bengtsson and was built 1908. During the following half-century Millesgården was expanded and developed in collaboration with Carl's half-brother, architect Evert Milles. Between 1911-13 the first addition was built, an open-air studio in the form of a loggia wing, intended to improve Carl's work environment. The sculptor had contracted a serious case of silicosis from inhalation of the dust from his stone carving. As Milles income increased from the many new sculpture commissions during the 1920's, adjoin...

NEGASTE MUCHOS FUTUROS
POR TU INMORAL PROFESIñN.
NO RECORDàS NI A SU PADRE,
ES LA MORTAL DECISIñN.
SABèS QUE EXISTE LA PROTECCIñN
SABèS QUE EL FETO YA TIENE VIDA
SABEN TODOS LA HIPOCRECIA,
ESCONDIENDO CON EGOìSMO
LO MàS NATURAL DE LA VIDA.
NEGASTE MUCHOS FUTUROS
POR TU INMORAL PROFESIñN.
TU VIENTRE ASESINADO
LA DECISIñN ES MATAR EL FUTURO.
AHOGANDO LA RESPIRACIñN
DEL QUE DESEA ENTRAR AL MUNDO
EL DERECHO A LA PROPIEDAD.
EL SABIO DE LA MEDICINA
CONTRADICE SU PROFESIñN
VERDUGOS DEL EMBRIñN.
NEGASTE MUCHOS FUTUROS
POR TU INMORAL PROFESIñN.
TU VIENTRE ASESINADO
LA DECISIñN ES MATAR.
EL SENTIMIENTO HOY YA ES MALDAD.
