Assam (English pronunciation: /əˈsæm/ listen ; Assamese: অসম , Ôxôm [ɔ'xɔm] listen ) is a state in Northeast India. Located south of the eastern Himalayas, Assam comprises the Brahmaputra Valley and the Barak Valley along with the Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao districts with an area of 30,285 square miles (78,440 km2). Assam, along with Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and Meghalaya, is one of the Seven Sister States. Geographically Assam and these states are connected to the rest of India via a 22 kilometres (14 mi) strip of land in West Bengal called the Siliguri Corridor or "Chicken's Neck". Assam shares an international border with Bhutan and Bangladesh; and its culture, people and climate are similar to those of South-East Asia – comprising the elements in India’s Look East policy. Assam became a part of British India after the British East India Company occupied the region following the First Anglo-Burmese War of 1824–1826.
Assam is known for Assam tea and Assam silk. The first oil well in Asia was drilled here. The state has conserved the one-horned Indian rhinoceros from near extinction, along with the pygmy hog, tiger and various species of Asiatic birds. It provides one of the last wild habitats for the Asian elephant. The Assamese economy is aided by wildlife tourism, centred around Kaziranga National Park and Manas National Park which are World Heritage Sites. Sal tree forests are found in the state, which as a result of rainfall looks green all year round. Assam receive more rainfall compared to most part of India. This rain feeds the Brahmaputra River, whose tributaries and oxbow lakes provide the region with a hydro-geomorphic and aesthetic environment.
India, officially the Republic of India (Bhārat Gaṇarājya), is a country in South Asia. It is the seventh-largest country by area, the second-most populous country with over 1.2 billion people, and the most populous democracy in the world. Bounded by the Indian Ocean on the south, the Arabian Sea on the south-west, and the Bay of Bengal on the south-east, it shares land borders with Pakistan to the west;China, Nepal, and Bhutan to the north-east; and Myanmar (Burma) and Bangladesh to the east. In the Indian Ocean, India is in the vicinity of Sri Lanka and the Maldives; in addition, India's Andaman and Nicobar Islands share a maritime border with Thailand and Indonesia.
Home to the ancient Indus Valley Civilisation and a region of historic trade routes and vast empires, the Indian subcontinent was identified with its commercial and cultural wealth for much of its long history. Four religions—Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Sikhism—originated here, whereas Zoroastrianism, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam arrived in the 1st millennium CE and also shaped the region's diverse culture. Gradually annexed by and brought under the administration of the British East India Company from the early 18th century and administered directly by the United Kingdom after the Indian Rebellion of 1857, India became an independent nation in 1947 after a struggle for independence that was marked by non-violent resistance led by Mahatma Gandhi.
Northeast India is the eastern-most region of India. It is connected to East India via a narrow corridor squeezed between independent nations of Bhutan and Bangladesh. It comprises the contiguous Seven Sister States (Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Tripura), and the Himalayan state of Sikkim, and Jalpaiguri Division. Except for the Goalpara region of Assam, the rest did not become part of political India until the 19th century and later. The Brahmaputra valley area of Assam became a part of British India in 1824, with the hill regions annexed later. Sikkim was annexed to the Indian union through a referendum in 1975; it was recognized as part of Northeast India in the 1990s.
Northeast India is generally considered one of the most challenging regions of the country to govern. It has been the site of separatist movements among the tribal peoples, who speak languages related to Tibeto-Burman.
Northeast India constitutes about 8% of India's size; roughly 3/4th the size of the state of Maharashtra. Its population is approximately 40 million (2011 census), 3.1% of the total Indian population; roughly equal to that of Odisha.

Nearly two months after over 40 Muslims were massacred in India's northeastern state of Assam, four more Muslims have been killed by tribal militants in the region. Not only have authorities failed to protect minority Muslims in the state, but they have also allowed the perpetrators to get away with impunity and denied justice to the victims.
“Meet the BJP MLA who is famous for her beauty,” read one headline on Angoorlata. Another called her India’s “hottest woman MLA”. “BJP ki is mahila vidhyaka ke khoobsurti ke charche”, “A new beauty sensation in politics” — you’d be forgiven for thinking that Angoorlata had won a beauty pageant rather than an election, after reading these pieces.

This is a WAR of CIVILIZATIONS and we have to fight against INTELLECTUAL TERRORISM, to revive DHARMA Identity of INDIA. i.e. HINDU ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hinduism is the most Ancient religion in the world. It is also known as Sanatan Dharma, which means the eternal right path. In fact it is the only religion in the world, which does not encourage conversion. It is more than a religion; it is a way of life. It is not a man made religion, founded or created by any prophet. It has no origin and no end. It is a religion of freedom and, unlike most other religions; it allows absolute freedom of one's faith and mode of worship. Indeed, it is the only religion in the world, which respects the right of people to realize the Almig...

No me puedo fiar
el miedo me ha hecho frío
compréndeme
si ya ni en mi confío
Mi soledad
tal vez la adulación
me han roto el corazón
siento hastío
no me fío
No me fío de aquel que no me mira
que tendrá contra mí su corazón
me da miedo entregarme a tus caricias
pues me han hecho tanto daño amor.
No me fío de aquel que hace favores
y presume de hacerlos por amor
no confío en aquel que vende amores
el amor jamas es un favor
No me puedo fiar
el miedo me ha hecho frío
compréndeme
si ya ni en mi confío Mi soledad
tal vez la adulación
me han roto el corazón
y siento hastío
No me puedo fiar
el miedo me ha hecho frío
compréndeme
si ya ni en mi confío
No me puedo fiar
pues tras la vanidad
llega la verdad
luego el vacío
no me fío
No me puedo fiar
el miedo me ha hecho frío
compréndeme
si ya ni en mi confío
No me puedo fiar
pues tras la vanidad
llega la verdad
luego el vacío
No me fío....
