Time is a common term for the experience of duration and a fundamental quantity of measuring systems. Time may also refer to:
Charles Parker, Jr. (August 29, 1920 – March 12, 1955), also known as Yardbird and Bird, was an American jazz saxophonist and composer.
Parker acquired the nickname "Yardbird" early in his career and the shortened form, "Bird", which continued to be used for the rest of his life, inspiring the titles of a number of Parker compositions, such as "Yardbird Suite", "Ornithology", "Bird Gets the Worm", and "Bird of Paradise."
Parker was a highly influential jazz soloist and a leading figure in the development of bebop, a form of jazz characterized by fast tempos, virtuosic technique, and improvisation. Parker introduced revolutionary harmonic ideas, including rapidly passing chords, new variants of altered chords, and chord substitutions. His tone ranged from clean and penetrating to sweet and somber. Many Parker recordings demonstrate virtuosic technique and complex melodic lines, combining jazz with other musical genres, including blues, Latin, and classical.
Parker was an icon for the hipster subculture and later the Beat Generation, personifying the jazz musician as an uncompromising artist and intellectual, rather than an entertainer.
(Intro)
You better get ready now
You better prepare
You better get ready now
You better prepare
(Verse 1)
I've been waiting
Now's the time
I'm ready to do my own
I don't know where I'm going
My destiny's unknown
I've been hating, never mind
I think I've found my even flow
Now my love's forever burning
While evil souls die alone
(Chorus)
Now's the time
The serchers find
But who am I to say
When all I know is the world is cold
And love's the only way
Love's the only way
(Verse 2)
Evil is sowing the seeds of fear, trying to multiply
And you're the only one who knows me
The reason why I try
'Cause I 'm unknowing, you're aware, observing in your disguise
How I wish that you would show me the wisdom in your eyes
Nature's soothing
When I'm hurt, no one is there to feel
When the stars are talking to me
They tell me to prepare
Times are moving throught the dirt
Heaven is everywhere
Making music for me
My comfort through the years
(Chorus)
(Rap)
(Chorus)
(Outro/Fade Out)
You better get ready now
You better prepare
You better get ready now
