Houston (i/ˈhjuːstən/ HYOO-stən) is the most populous city in Texas and the fourth most populous city in the United States. With a census-estimated 2014 population of 2.239 million people, within a land area of 599.6 square miles (1,553 km2), it also is the largest city in the Southern United States, as well as the seat of Harris County. It is the principal city of Houston–The Woodlands–Sugar Land, which is the fifth most populated metropolitan area in the United States.
Houston was founded in 1836 on land near the banks of Buffalo Bayou (now known as Allen's Landing) and incorporated as a city on June 5, 1837. The city was named after former General Sam Houston, who was president of the Republic of Texas and had commanded and won at the Battle of San Jacinto 25 miles (40 km) east of where the city was established. The burgeoning port and railroad industry, combined with oil discovery in 1901, has induced continual surges in the city's population. In the mid-twentieth century, Houston became the home of the Texas Medical Center—the world's largest concentration of healthcare and research institutions—and NASA's Johnson Space Center, where the Mission Control Center is located.
Montrose may refer to:
"The Transformation" is the thirteenth episode of the first season of the American science fiction drama television series Fringe. Its storyline centers on the circumstances surrounding a deceased scientist (Neal Huff), who was doped with a "designer virus" and transformed into a dangerous monster, causing his plane to crash. Fringe agent Olivia Dunham (Anna Torv) and FBI consultants Peter (Joshua Jackson) and Walter Bishop (John Noble) connect the event to an impending arms deal. Olivia must explore her mind for remaining memories of her former partner and lover, John Scott (Mark Valley), in order to prevent the sale of the virus.
The episode was co-written by Zack Whedon and supervising producer J. R. Orci, while producer Brad Anderson served as the director. The creation of the monster took the crew approximately eleven days – they took molds of guest actor Huff's head and back and created eight sets of dentures in order to create the special effect of transformation. To create the plane crash set, the crew spent over a week strategically placing around 15,000 pounds worth of plane parts.

In Fall of 2009, I hunted black wildebeest in Africa in order to again "meet my meat." My wonderful guide was Chris Bolton, of Zungah Safaris, in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. After the hunt, we transported the meat to a well-known Cape Town Chef, Pete Goff, of The Kitchen Cowboys. This was a very emotional experience for me and my friend, Sonja Kroop, who was shooting most of the footage. We had not anticipated the hunt nor filming, when we arrived to visit a friend in Cape Town, so the footage quality is old mini-dv, not high quality HD. Some viewers may find this to be GRAPHIC CONTENT, as it shows the killing of an animal for food.
The Round-Up In Winter, 2009, Ashley Chiles and her two long-time Texas compadres, Amy Esacove & Patrice Shackelford decided to "meet their meat" on a wild boar hunt in South Texas. Ashley recruits two well-known Houston chefs: Bryan Caswell of Reef, El Real, & Little Bigs, as well as J.J. "Papa-Beav" Jones of Beavers Restaurant, and master boar-Hunter & guide, Lupe Flores.

The fairy-tale landscapes of Jordan become more and more grim in the eyes of it's schizophrenic guide who is haunted by the voice of the Edimmu, embittered “undead”, known to use the fears of its victims against themselves The story serves as a sort of metaphor for the troublesome times in Near/Middle East and the mutual mistrust between the East and the We...
Hero, Amy Esacove, field-dresses the wild boar I shot...under hunting guide, Lupe's guidance, while chefs Bryan Caswell and J.J. Jones & Patrice watching in awe. Bryan Caswell can be quoted in the film..."That's why I came, to see the field-dressing. I didn't believe you were going to do it." Of COURSE we do it. Do you think we're going to let the men of the world say, "they may shoot, but they let the guys do all the dirty work." NO WAY.

Transfer is incorrectly labeled 2007, this is July 2008. College Garden Cemetery and Founders Cemetery, Montrose area of Houston. One of the last, if not the last meetup with the regular TPR group. We sacrifice Dickey to the 'hole', all of the regulars are there, Michelle,Irma,Helen,Yrose,Ed,Jamie,Chris, and Riot plus all of our friends. Jamie calls me a "Maleslut" again because of the camera time I give the pretty girls. Nothing eventful until halfway through the Founders walk when my radio and camera hit an extreme EMF spike, it was worse than I thought it was until I reviewed the video. The price of gas was astronomical and I was getting paid almost minimum wage, we had just moved out to Winnie and a 70 mile drive to Houston was a killer.

The number of unsolved crimes in Texas is higher than in most states, due both to the sheer size of the Lone Star State and also to the amount of empty, desolate space where crimes can be committed with no chance of being discovered. Even as cities like Houston, Dallas, and Austin grow their populations into the millions, there are still areas near each urban center where it is possible to be entirely off the grid. 1.
