Delhi (/ˈdɛli/, Hindustani pronunciation: [d̪ɪlliː] Dilli), officially the National Capital Territory of Delhi, is the capital territory of India. Delhi is historically and culturally connected to both the Upper Doab of the Yamuna-Ganges river system and the Punjab region. It is bordered by Haryana on three sides and by Uttar Pradesh to the east. It is the largest city in India in terms of geographical area - about 1,484 square kilometres (573 sq mi). It has a population of about 16.3 million, making it the second most populous city and second most populous urban agglomeration in India and 3rd largest urban area in the world. Such is the nature of urban expansion in Delhi that its growth has expanded beyond the NCT to incorporate towns in neighbouring states and at its largest extent can count a population of about 25 million residents as of 2014.
Delhi has been continuously inhabited since the 6th century BC. Through most of its history, Delhi has served as a capital of various kingdoms and empires. It has been captured, ransacked and rebuilt several times, particularly during the medieval period, and modern Delhi is a cluster of a number of cities spread across the metropolitan region.
The National Capital Region (NCR) in India is the designation for the conurbation or metropolitan area which encompasses the entire National Capital Territory of Delhi, which includes New Delhi, as well as urban areas surrounding it in neighboring states of Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.
NCR is India's largest and one of the world's largest agglomeration with a population of over 47,000,000 at the 2011 Census. All the areas of NCR together generated GDP of $128.9 billion in 2011-12, which was 7.5 percent of the Indian GDP.
In July 2013, NCR was expanded to include three more districts, Bhiwani, and Mahendragarh in the state of Haryana, as well as Bharatpur in the state of Rajasthan. This brought the number of districts in NCR to 19, with the total NCR area increasing 34% to 45,887 km2.
Before July 2013, National Capital Region (NCR) had a total area of 34,144 km2 spanning over 15 districts in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Rajasthan, together with the National Capital Territory of Delhi, with the Nation Capital as its core. After the addition of three more districts (Bhiwani, Mahendragarh and Bharatpur) - NCR expanded to 18 districts having a total area of 46,208 km2. On 9 June 2015, Government of India approved the inclusion of three more districts in NCR - Jind and Karnal in the state of Haryana and Muzaffarnagar in U.P. There are now a total of 23 districts (plus Delhi NCT) within NCR, covering a total area of 51,109 km2.

Traveling India: Delhi. This video is of our first hours and days in India. Be prepared to see two culture-shocked westerners. No amount of travel guidebooks can prepare you for India. India has a unique allure, I have forever wanted to travel here. In 2008, I set my mind firmly on the goal of getting here, when we purchased 10 year multiple entry visas. We are excited to finally be here experiencing it first hand, culture-shock and all. I will do my best to film everything as we experience it, both the good and the bad. As every country has it's beauty and it's struggle. xoxo, Christine
When you think India, if you think spicy food, snake charmers, dodging cows, the Taj Mahal, and total chaos- you’re thinking about Northern India. It's an adventure waiting to happen, and will leave you wondering why it only accounts for 1% of world tourism. Join Ricky Moreno as he explores Delhi, Rajasthan, Agra, Rishikesh, and Varanasi. Welcome to Delhi. Say goodbye to your personal space. It’s crowded, it’s overwhelming, and definitely exhausting. One day here can feel like an entire week. The only way you’ll have any fun is to just put down the Purell and join the party. Instead of going straight to Agra to see the Taj Mahal, first I head west to hang with some locals in Rajasthan. Here, the people are welcoming, the desert is sprawling, and the camels command the streets. And it...

Driving across the Illinois plain
Hard times in '33
John's got a bottle and he's feeling no pain
Just the usual low down misery
Hey John don't you think it's a crying shame
A man lose a farm and he ain't to blame
"They're suckers," says John Dillinger
It's another bleak November day
Can't decide to rain or snow
The money's in the bags and they're getting away
Heading north to Chicago
Big gray buildings, little gray men
Have a little fun then we'll do it again
"All right," says John Dillinger
Luther's bleeding from a hole in his side
I don't believe he'll make it through
Ruby cradles his head and she starts to cry
Oh God, what can I do?
I've always been a gangster's girl
Don't die and leave me alone in the world
"Shut up," says John Dillinger
Across his lap a sub-machine
Under his arm a .38
He's feeling alive, he's feeling mean
His yellow eyes are filled with hate
The papers say he's a Robin Hood
Mistreated and misunderstood
"Fuck'em," says John Dillinger
