Land, sometimes referred to as dry land, is the solid surface of the Earth that is not permanently covered by water. The vast majority of human activity occurs in land areas that support agriculture, habitat, and various natural resources.
Some life forms (including terrestrial plants and terrestrial animals) have developed from predecessor species that lived in bodies of water.
Areas where land meets large bodies of water are called coastal zones. The division between land and water is a fundamental concept to humans. The demarcation between land and water can vary by local jurisdiction and other factors. A maritime boundary is one example of a political demarcation. A variety of natural boundaries exist to help clearly define where water meets land. Solid rock landforms are easier to demarcate than marshy or swampy boundaries, where there is no clear point at which the land ends and a body of water has begun. Demarcation can further vary due to tides and weather.

He’s equally at home chopping down a house-sized redwood by himself (to build a house-sized house of course) as he is lounging at midnight listening to mariachi bands play while sipping on ice-cold margaritas. Like Lost Frequencies, he is a master of his domain. These fine gentlemen want to kno...

All grading done in Adobe Speedgrade CC. I primarily grade short films and music videos, but can handle any job thrown at me. I primarily grade in workflows including RAW .R3Ds, and various DSLRs, but can work with any file format. Thank you to Michael Zaletel, Jarred Land, and Langston Nichols for all the footage!
Equipment: RED EPIC, Phantom Flex, Phantom Gold, SmallHD DP6 & DP4 For the past few years, SnapRoll Media has been at the forefront of remotely controlled aerial camera systems. Like most, we started out using DSLR cameras to record video, but it wasn't long before the image quality wasn't up to our standards. We began designing and building larger airframes to carry the weight of the cameras we and our clients wanted to use. Our hard work paid off. We were the first to successfully carry the RED ONE digital cinema camera safely and smoothly. Then, we added Vision Research's Phantom Flex and Phantom Gold high speed cameras to our arsenal. Furthermore, we had the opportunity to be the first in the world to successfully fly the new RED EPIC on our proven remote controlled aerial syst...
In the late 20th Century the distinction between soldier and mercenary became blurred. The recent use of private military companies (PMCs) in Iraq has been more extensive than at any time in modern history. The brutal killing of four PMC employees in Fallujah in April 2004 made it clear that these “contractors” are not merely workers in a foreign land. But are the lives of such men the only thing at risk when we privatize warfare? Shadow Company explores the moral and ethical issues private military solutions create for PMC employees, for the Western governments who foot the bill for their salaries, and for everyday citizens like you. The filmmakers traveled the globe to expose all sides of the issue, interviewing PMC staff, owners and lobbyists, former mercenaries, academics, journalists...
