The International Association for Near-Death Studies presents NDE RADIO, a weekly exploration of near-death experiences and similar encounters with the other side, hosted by LEE WITTING.
The International Association for Near-Death Studies (IANDS), the world's pioneer organization in exploring what happens when the soul leaves the body, is now expanding it's educational efforts through broadcasting with NDE RADIO.
Host LEE WITTING is himself a near-death experiencer with a doctor of ministry degree in NDE studies. NDE RADIO airs live every Monday at 11:00 AM Eastern here on TalkZone.
The show features first-hand stories of near-death and out-of-body experiences, interviews with guests who have experienced the other side, and with researchers of the NDE and other "mystical" phenomena. Shows will offer the chance for audience call-ins, and each show will be archived for listening at any time.
For further information about the work of IANDS, its remarkable history, publications, outreach activities, local chapters, conventions and the like, we invite you to check out our website at http://iands.org/home.html
Rev. Katherine James Klemstine, DMin, is a recently retired hospice chaplain for Hospice of the Chesapeake in Pasadena, Maryland. Her educational background includes a Masters of Divinity and a Doctorate in Ministry, with specialization in the field of Ministry at the End of Life, and in her practice she developed and taught the Vigil Volunteer Training Program.
Katherine’s work with dying patients uniquely qualifies her for her discussion at the 2015 IANDS Annual Conference in San Antonio, TX on the topic, Death as Transition: The Soul’s Withdrawal from the Body and NDE’s during the Dying Process. Katherine examines the transition of the soul as it withdraws from the physical body during the dying process, and reflects on the Near-Death Experience in terms of the withdrawal and subsequent return of the soul to the physical body. She compares the physical description of the dying process to the changes in consciousness as the soul passes from the physical body into the non-physical and spiritual realms. In her work she also shares her guidelines on how those at the bedside of a dying person can provide a compassionate, caring, listening presence to support the dying person who has experienced an NDE.

19-Year-Old Jahaysia Graham Fulfills DYING Wish To Marry Her Childhood Sweetheart Jathyis LaJuett- DYING Wish Come True
A dream come true Friday night for an area Hospice patient who became a bride in a rose garden ceremony that delighted not only those who attended her wedding, but also millions of other people around the world. Even though most people who are planning a wedding need months, or sometimes years to work out every little detail, out of circumstance and necessity, a young Schenectady couple had only two weeks to get the job done.
Nineteen year old Jahaysia Graham always dreamed about being a bride, but after being diagnosed with cancer just over a year ago, it looked like her dream was shattered. Two weeks ago, 20-year old Jathyis LaJuett proposed to his longtime girlfriend, and when the Community Hospice posted the story on its Facebook page, things went mega-viral.
"It kind of started out small and it got larger and the story continued to unfold and it touched so many people," said Steven Many, executive director of the Community Hospice. "We had contacts from Australia, the UK, Ireland. It was just amazing, an amazing love story is what it comes down to."
More then 12-million people saw the Facebook post. More than 350,000 "liked" it. Then, all of a sudden, people from all over the world began contacting hospice, wanting to know how they could help.
The wedding dresses, the tuxedos, the flowers, the limousine service, the food and beverage, and the DJ service at the reception were all donated. "I'm just so happy right now," said Sherry LaJuett, the groom's mother. I never thought I would see so many people at such a special event," said LaToya Sheffield, mother of the bride. "I have no idea who half of them are but I know why they're here and that's enough for me."
"I think it's what they wanted," said Mary LaJuett, the groom's grandmother. "They dreamed about this when they were young and they got what they wanted."
Hospice has also arranged for a special honeymoon at a local hotel.

Please take the time to read the full story at http://memorialfund.tumblr.com, it would mean so much to me and my family and will be sickening to anyone who has compassion for those with mental illness. The beginning of the video I've included below is very dark, but I don't know how to edit it... there is better lighting at the 2:30 mark.
This is my Aunt Yvonne. She has been in and out of mental institutions her entire life, where she experienced both physical and mental abuse. She was subjected to shock treatments at age 10. Her Father committed suicide at the age of 40; she has felt responsible and blamed herself for it her entire life. She was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 50, which she fought and beat. 3 years later, she was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. My Mom and I took care of her for her remaining months until she became too much to handle for the both of us. Now, here she lies, deceased in Hospice, where they refused to let her come home to die when it got close to the very end. They abused her both physically and mentally while she was there.
Yvonne died having never experienced romantic love or even a single boyfriend. She did not have any friends besides my Mother. She has died essentially alone. She has died a virgin. Put yourself in that scenario for a moment and imagine how lonely a life like that must have been. Now, I've seen what a great place the internet can be in the past, and I'm basically just crossing my fingers that this will be seen by enough people to make this wish come true -- for once in her life, I pray to God something will work out for my Aunt. What I'm asking for, is for the internet to help me give her a proper burial, since me and my mother have already gone into tremendous debt in trying to care for her ourselves. We both have maxed out credit cards at this point, we have no way to pay for anything more. Me, myself, I'm only in my 20's and have already ruined my credit trying to do everything right. All that's left of our family is me and my Mom. We have no where to turn to for help, this is why I've taken to the internet to try to find some sort of 'justice' for her life. Even a couple of dollars would mean a lot. Yvonne was very against cremation because she is a Catholic... but to be honest we cannot even afford the bill for cremation services as it stands. Our local funeral home has been nice enough to keep her in refrigeration for an extra few days while we try to come up with the money to give her a proper burial. I've set up a PayPal if you would like to donate, the link to make a donation can be found here: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_donations&business;=ryanbury2%40yahoo%2ecom&lc;=US&item;_name=Yvonne%20Schneider%20Memorial%20Fund¤cy;_code=USD&bn;=PP%2dDonationsBF%3abtn_donateCC_LG%2egif%3aNonHosted
If you aren't able to donate but still want to help, upvote or spread the word about her story to groups of people that you know. She would take such great joy in knowing that people, for once in her life, finally cared about her life and didn't treat her like a piece of disposable garbage. I thank you very much for taking the time to read about my Aunt, who I loved very much.
wn.com/Mental And Physical Abuse Story Of A Hospice Terminal Brain Cancer Patient Please Help (Morbid)
Maria Dancing Heart Hoaglund, international author, minister, body-mind-spirit specialist, and long-time hospice counselor, shares her most profound experience she's had as a spiritual counselor. (see www.changewithcourage.com for details) One needs to remain very flexible when doing hospice work; and in this situation she was privileged to be by the bedside when a gentleman was dying. Maria helped him make the transition by providing him with some essential oils that allowed him to relax and take his last breath in a remarkable short amount of time!

My mom, Mary Ann and her fiancé John spoke many times about getting married but unfortunately her health declined rapidly over a 3 day period and thus was moved to Alive Hospice for her expected final place of rest and caring. While sitting with her on Thursday afternoon of Aug 9th, 2012 (2 days after arriving at Hospice), John asked Ann for a yes to go forward with the long-time discussed ceremony and received a smiling approval. So, in less than 24 hours it all came about & as her daughter - I was especially excited to find her a Princess Dress to wear symbolically as she is God's little Princess. The Alive Hospice was so helpful to make this a reality and thanks to all that helped make this beautiful ceremony happen. And as for the phone rings, my mom felt is was important to have all her love ones be apart of the ceremony via Skype so the ringing phone was an non-issue to her and John. So please reframe from negative comments regarding the phone because we all understood the reason behind it.

Most Americans say they prefer to die at home. However, 70% of deaths occur in a hospital, nursing home or long term care facility. "NPT Reports: Aging Matters: End of Life" weaves personal stories of families alongside interviews with scholars, doctors, and medical ethicists to explore the complicated experience of dying, and why so few live the death they say they want.
Produced and presented by Nashville Public Television (NPT), the program explores how the culture of death and dying in America has been radically transformed by medical science, how the medical system reinforces our culture-wide unwillingness to face death, as well as efforts to change how Americans understand and talk about dying. Among the topics addressed in "Aging Matters" are the roles of advance directives, palliative care and hospice in an end-of-life strategy. Kathy Mattea, the Grammy® and CMA® Award-winning singer-songwriter and advocate for a number of causes, including AIDS awareness and research, global warming and Appalachian mining practices, hosts the show.
