government super trawler double standard?, scallops and a.f.m.a
does it seem fair when the
Australian fisheries management authority close fishing grounds to south Australian shark fishermen for 1 year periods when they interact with in some cases 1 sea lion, in other cases 2 sea lions, but what happened when the super trawler was seen to do similar in
Tasmania?, with several dolphins and seals killed in one trip, a lot more that the trigger number set for the south Australian closures. it will be interesting to see how the authorities treat them compared to its own citizens.
regarding these photo's i have an investment in this fishery., the photos are of
Bass strait 2014 east -north east of king island . it is in my interests to conserve the victorian central zone scallop fishery managed by a.f.m.a., who are doing a 'great job'.
Does this look like sustainability? If it is not, then what is going on ?

see this link to seal exclusion device results that a.f.m.a. tried to supress.??

i sent this following message, afma have still to respond,,,
To: info@afma.gov.au
At some stage you will probably remember that i recently phoned you and during the course of the phone call you asked if i was recording our conversation. i replied that you and i know both know that that is illegal. I would like to ask you the same series of questions that i previously did during that conversation, without the "fear" that i may be recording the conversation.
It has come to my attention, in my opinion, that the method we use to harvest scallops is somewhat brutal as we are killing a great number of them during our fishing operations, are you aware of the damage that i speak of, namely crushed broken scallops that then die off to start rotting amongst the rest of the living scallop population?.Are you aware that fishermen fear the disease caused by the die off as it starts to kill other scallops in the vicinity, causing a mass die off of the bed, due to the rotting corpses of there kinship who have been crushed by our fishing operations? I also would like to know, for the record, if you are aware of a terrible smell, like decaying flesh, emanating from such grounds that are being harvested and sold to the public
