According to Bedouin legend the
Palace of the
Pharaoh's Daughter at
Petra in
Jordan is named after an
Egyptian Pharaoh that came and constructed the building for his daughter. Although, others believe it to be once a
Nabataean Temple that was later renamed to fit the legend.
Testament to a different construction technique by using wood and stone gave the structure the ability to withstand earthquakes that many other buildings fell to and is credited to the reason for it still being mostly standing today.
