Bajo Otra Luz

"Bajo Otra Luz" ("Under Another Light") is the third single released by Nelly Furtado during a special iTunes promotion counting down to the release of her fourth studio album, Mi Plan. The song features Julieta Venegas and La Mala Rodríguez vocals and was written entirely by Venegas. The song was later released for radio airplay on May 4, 2010.

Commercial release

"Bajo Otra Luz" was released as promotional download single on August 31, 2009 as part of the countdown to the release of Mi Plan. It was the third track to be lifted for a promotional release. The version released to iTunes does not include Julieta Venegas' vocals, as she was unable to record vocals for the single edit due to pregnancy. Instead, Spanish singer Celia Palli recorded vocals for the single edit.

Music video

According to Furtado's Twitter account, the music video for "Bajo Otra Luz" was recorded between May 15 and 16, 2010. Julieta Venegas does not appear in the video because of her pregnancy. The video was released July 1, 2010 and features Furtado and La Mala Rodríguez through the streets of Little Italy, Toronto wearing different costumes and suits. Furtado expresses the theme of the video to being humorous and fun. Wearing popular costumes such as a cavewoman, she-devil, Bjork's swan dress, Native American, Britney Spears and even paying homage to the Wizard of Oz's Dorothy character. On Furtado's Vevo page, as of October 2015, "Bajo Otra Luz" has received over 9,300,000 views.

Otra

The Otra river is the largest river in the Sørlandet region of Norway. It flows from the Setesdalsheiene mountains in Bykle municipality in Aust-Agder county in the north, down to the municipality of Kristiansand in the south, where it flows into the Skagerrak.

The Otra is 245 kilometres (152 mi) long, making it Norway’s eighth longest river. There are many large lakes along the river including: Åraksfjorden, Byglandsfjorden, Hartevatnet, and Kilefjorden. There are 12 hydroelectric power plants built along the river, which produce much of the electricity for the southern part of Norway.

The salmon do well in the Otra river because the water is not too acidic. The calcareous rocks in the catchment area at the top of Setesdal which river water a certain buffer capacity against acidification.

Nelly Kim Furtado /ˌfɜːrˈtɑːdoʊ/, ComIH (born December 2, 1978) is a Canadian singer and songwriter. She has sold 20 million albums worldwide and more than 20 million singles, bringing her total sales to over 40 million records around the world. Furtado first gained fame with her debut album, Whoa, Nelly!, which spawned two successful singles, "I'm Like a Bird" and "Turn Off the Light".
