Cruz

Cruz is a surname of Iberian origin, first found in Castile, Spain, but later spread throughout the territories of the former Spanish and Portuguese Empires. In Spanish and Portuguese, the word means “cross,” either the Christian cross or the figure of transecting lines or ways. For example, in the Philippines, the adopted Tagalog word is rendered to “krus” in plain usage, but the Spanish spelling survives as a surname.

The word "Cruz", as well as "Vera Cruz" ("True Cross") and "Santa Cruz" ("Holy Cross") are used as surnames and topological names. Its origin as a surname particularly flourished after the Alhambra Decree of 1492 and the increasing activities of the Spanish Inquisition, when New Christian families with Crypto-Jewish, Moorish, and/or mixed religious heritage converted to the state-enforced religion of Catholicism and subsequently fashioned and adopted surnames with unambiguous religious affiliation.

Ariel Camacho

José Ariel Camacho Barraza (August 7, 1992 – February 25, 2015) was a Mexican singer-songwriter who performed in the Regional Mexican genre. He was the leader of the band Los Plebes del Rancho and was signed on to DEL Records.

Death

On February 25, 2015 Camacho and two other people died in a car accident on the road from Angostura, Sinaloa. Following his death, his group's song "El Karma" reached number one on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart.

Justin Timberlake

Justin Randall Timberlake (born January 31, 1981) is an American singer, songwriter, actor, and record producer. He appeared on the television shows Star Search and The All-New Mickey Mouse Club as a child. In the late 1990s, Timberlake rose to prominence as one of the two lead vocalists and youngest member of NSYNC, which eventually became one of the best-selling boy bands of all time. DEL Records is a Mexican American record label. Though headquartered in the Los Angeles suburb of Downey, the label primarily caters to Mexico, Mexicans in the United States, and Mexican Americans.

History

The label was formed by Angel Del Villar who ran a successful fencing company. The label's first signing was in 2012. It was a partnership with Anaheim, California based VIP Music.
