"The Essential Red Collection" (2004) is a remastered greatest hits compilation by Sammy Hagar. It includes some of his early works, from "Bad Motor Scooter" with Montrose, unreleased demos, film soundtrack cuts to more recent material.
The compilation doesn't include any of his material with Van Halen, although the tracks "Winner Takes It All", "Give To Live" and "Eagles Fly" all feature Eddie Van Halen on bass.

"Standing Hampton" is Sammy Hagar's sixth solo studio album (ninth overall), his first after moving from Capitol Records to Geffen. It was his first album to achieve RIAA certification, eventually going platinum, and five of its singles charted in either the mainstream rock or pop singles charts.
The British version of the album was released with a bonus interview 45rpm called Conversations with Sammy Hagar.
Hagar has said that he was originally going to call this album "One Way To Rock". It was a British fan who told him of the term that came to be the title. In Cockney rhyming slang, a "Hampton" is a term for a penis. One that is "Standing", of course, would be a reference to an erection. This led to the cover art that shows a gentleman greeting a woman in various states of undress. The liner notes on the inner sleeve state that the cover graphics were inspired by the work of Surrealist painter Paul Delvaux.
Song information:
"I'll Fall in Love Again" was used in the soundtrack to the film Vision Quest.
A couple of non-album tracks, "Don't Get Hooked" and "Satisfied", appeared as B-sides and have not been released in any other format since.
"There's Only One Way to Rock" went on to be one of Hagar's biggest solo hits and a signature tune. This song, along with "I Can't Drive 55", were the two Hagar songs that Van Halen consistently played when he joined the band.
A different version of the song "Heavy Metal" was used for the soundtrack for the animated movie Heavy Metal.
The lyrics to the song "Inside Lookin' In" refers to "ringin' just like one UXB". UXB is an acronym for an "unexploded bomb". No known references to the UK punk band UXB have ever been cited.
The lyrics to "Sweet Hitchhiker" refers to "Blaupunkt blastin' my favorite song". Blaupunkt refers to a popular brand of car stereo.
"Piece of My Heart" is a cover of the song originally recorded by Erma Franklin and made famous by Janis Joplin.

Caught live at the UMB Pavilion Maryland Heights, Missouri (25 July 2006) on their sold out US tour. Sammy And The Wabos bring down the house with songs from their 2006 album, "Livin' It Up", as well as some of Sammy's famed solo work.
Joined on stage for the second half of the show by legendary Van Halen bassist, Michael Anthony, the band rips through some of rock radio's classic tunes. From "I Can't Drive 55" and "Mas Tequila" to "Finish What You Started" and "Right Now", it's one big Cabo party with the "Red Rocker".
December 6, 1978 - it might have started before then but who could forget Sammy opening for Ted Nugent at the Checkerdome in St. Louis. Opening acts aren't supposed to have the audience in the palm of their hand but Sammy sure did. His honesty and sincerity captivated the audience.
The relationship between this artist and this city would never be the same. Almost 30 years later Sammy is still honest, still sincere and now more than ever, holds the St. Louis audience in the palm of his hand with a shot of Cabo in the other. Sammy fans everywhere just want to know, "What is it with Sammy and St. Louis?" It could be the relationship between Sammy and KSHE radio which dates back to the early 70's and the Montrose days. "Three Lock Box" is Sammy Hagar's seventh solo album (ninth overall) released Nov 30th, 1982. The album has guest appearances by Loverboy's Mike Reno, Journey's Jonathan Cain and Mr. Mister's Richard Page.
Hagar's only top #20 solo hit, "Your Love Is Driving Me Crazy", reached #13 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1983.
The lyrics to the title track are commonly accepted as sexual innuendo. However, Hagar has presented a story with a much more philosophical bent: "It's got to do with deep sea diving, when you look for a buried treasure. The ultimate treasure would be a sunken treasure with three locks on it, because that means it was the most valuable stuff that the queen had on that ship. And you need three different guys with keys to open it, that way no one could steal it. So a 'Three Lock Box' to me is within yourself. If you unlock the treasure of your physical, and your mental and your spiritual potential - those three in balance - you are a real human being and almost godly."

Sam Roy "Sammy" Hagar (born October 13, 1947), also known as The Red Rocker, is an American rock vocalist, guitarist, songwriter and musician. Hagar came to prominence in the 1970s with the hard rock band Montrose. He afterwards launched a successful solo career, scoring an enduring hit in 1984 with "I Can't Drive 55". From 1985 to 1996, and 2003 to 2005, Hagar was the singer for Van Halen. On March 12, 2007, Hagar was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Van Halen.
Outside of music, he founded the Cabo Wabo Tequila brand and restaurant chain, as well as Sammy's Beach Bar Rum. He currently resides in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and also has a residence in Mill Valley, California. His present musical project is as lead singer of Chickenfoot.
Named after his mother's father, Sam Roy, Hagar was born in Salinas, California. His family soon moved to Fontana, where his father worked at the Kaiser Steel Mill. Hagar graduated from Fontana High School.
Hagar became interested in the burgeoning Southern California music scene, fronting his first band, the Fabulous Castilles.
