Amlan, Negros Oriental

Amlan is a fourth class municipality in the province of Negros Oriental, Philippines. According to the 2010 census, it has a population of 22,206 people.

Amlan was formerly known as New Ayuquitan.

History

Nineteenth-century chronicler Licinio Ruiz mentions Amblan, a settlement said to have been named after a superior kind of guava. The town was made a parish independent of Tanjay in 1848, was renamed New Ayuquitan in 1912, became Amlan after WW II.

Amlan is a leisurely 15-minute cruise from Dumaguete City.

Its Church of St. Andrew the Apostle, completed in 1853 (and said to have taken 50 years to build) is the centerpiece of the town’s tourism picture while providing photo-opportunists with a colonial period backdrop. The ruins of watch-towers against the Moro depredations of old can still be seen in Buswang and near the mouth of the Amlan River; and two others near the school building of Ayuquitan and barrio Calo.

Amlan’s unique crowd-drawer is the Budyas Festival which begins on the Tandayag pier with a traditional ritual blessing of fishing implements and the elaborately decorated fleet which then ferries the patron’s image in a fluvial procession to the chapel in Tandayag North.

Amlan has got born as the elder son of Mihir Das & Sangita Das at Cuttack. He completed his schooling & college from DAV school, CDA, Cuttack joined for his graduation in Sivaji Ganesan Film Institute of SRM University located in Chennai. As an actor child the drama & the art is in his blood. In 2013 he completed his graduation & started his film career in movie Target with direction from SK Muralidharan. But his first performance couldn't attracted the audience But later his acting in Tu mo dehara chhai & Golapi Golapi made a special appearance in audience mind.

Traffic collision

A traffic collision, also known as a motor vehicle collision (MVC), traffic accident, motor vehicle accident, car accident, automobile accident, road traffic collision, road traffic accident, wreck, car crash, or car smash occurs when a vehicle collides with another vehicle, pedestrian, animal, road debris, or other stationary obstruction, such as a tree or utility pole. Mihir Das

Mihir Kumar Das, known by film-industry name Mihir Das, is a popular Ollywood/Odia film actor. He received several awards, notably Best Actor award for his films Laxmi Pratima in 1998 and Pheria Mo Suna Bhauni in 2005 and Best Supporting Actor award for his films Rakhi Bandhili Mo Rakhiba Mana in 2002 and Prema Adhei Akhyara in 2010 from the Odisha state government.

Personal details

Das was born in Thursday, 17 February 1966 at Mayurbhanj. He was married to singer and film artist Sangita Das (died in 2010), daughter of singer Chitta Jena.

He debuted in the Oriya film industry with an art film School Master and then in commercial (non-art) film Mathura Bijay in 1979. He received wider applause and recognition for his performance in Pua Mora Bholashankar. A veteran actor for more than three decades, he received Best Actor award from the state government for his performance in movies Laxmi Protima in 1998 and Pheria Mo Suna Bhauni in 2005.
