Founded in 1504 (MacGibbon & Ross) the Castle Semple Collegiate Church is a very good example of pre-Reformation architecture in Scotland. Inside the ruin is the fine carved tomb of John, Lord Semple who died at the battle of Flodden, 1513, a decorated grave slab of a descendant, Gabriel Semple, and some late 19th century graves of the Harvey family.

I walked to Warwick to ring for evensong there. I got there an hour early , so wandered round the church. The organist was rehearsing the voluntary and various bits of the service. I decided to make a video of the Beauchamp Chapel to share wich you all, because it is very beautiful!
Brilliant youtube users have confirmed the organ music to be a bit of improvisation , followed by Duruflé's Carillon in A minor. Please remember this was the organist practising. Not that I can hear any mistakes.

In Christianity, a collegiate church is a church where the daily office of worship is maintained by a college of canons; a non-monastic, or "secular" community of clergy, organised as a self-governing corporate body, which may be presided over by a dean or provost. A Musical Tour of the City of Mozart With music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Chapter X St Peter's Cemetery lies behind the Collegiate Church of St Peter. Mozarts sister was buried here in 1829, as was Joseph Haynds brother Michael, who served in the court musical establishment and died in 1806. Built on an ancient Roman site, the Romanesque church itself, was erected originally in the twelfth century, renovated in the seventeenth and revamped in rococo style in 1770. The white, eau-de-nil and gilt ornamentation of the interior is typical of the period, as are the paintings and the ornate organ casings. I walked to Warwick to ring for evensong there. I got there an hour early , so wandered round the church. The organist was rehearsing the voluntary and various bits of the service. I decided to make a video of the Beauchamp Chapel to share wich you all, because it is very beautiful!
Brilliant youtube users have confirmed the organ music to be a bit of improvisation , followed by Duruflé's Carillon in A minor. Please remember this was the organist practising. Not that I can hear any mistakes.

St Peter's Cemetery lies behind the Collegiate Church of St Peter. Mozarts sister was buried here in 1829, as was Joseph Haynds brother Michael, who served in the court musical establishment and died in 1806. Built on an ancient Roman site, the Romanesque church itself, was erected originally in the twelfth century, renovated in the seventeenth and revamped in rococo style in 1770. The white, eau-de-nil and gilt ornamentation of the interior is typical of the period, as are the paintings and the ornate organ casings. Mozart's C minor Mass was first performed here in 1783, with his wife singing the soprano solos. Earlier buildings and plans for renovation of the Cathedral of St Rupert were replaced in the earlier seventeenth century by Santino Solari. The interior, in baroque style, contains frescoes and paintings. It was for the cathedral that Mozart wrote much of his church music, particularly during the short period from 1779 when he served as court organist.

Mozart left his Requiem unfinished at his death in December in 1791. It had been commissioned by Count Walsegg, acting anonymously through his steward and apparently intending to allow people to thins the work his. On his sick-bed Mozart and his friends sang through the completed parts of the work, breaking off at the start of the Lacrimosa, which remained incomplete, to be finished eventually by Mozart's pupil Franz Xaver Süssmayr. There is a particular poignancy about this final scene of the composers life and the significance of the text for him and his friends.
