Boris Eifman (Борис Яковлевич Эйфман) (born 22 July 1946) is one of the few, if not the only Russian choreographer whose energetic life in art has been going on for several decades. He has done more than fifty ballet performances.
Eifman was born in Siberia and graduated from the Leningrad Conservatory. In 1977 he founded the Leningrad Ballet Ensemble at the age of 30 and he remained there for over 35 years.
Saint Petersburg (Russian: Санкт-Петербу́рг, tr. Sankt-Peterburg; IPA: [ˈsankt pʲɪtʲɪrˈburk]) is the second largest city in Russia. It is politically incorporated as a federal subject (a federal city). It is located on the Neva River at the head of the Gulf of Finland on the Baltic Sea. In 1914 the name of the city was changed from Saint Petersburg to Petrograd (Russian: Петрогра́д; IPA: [pʲɪtrɐˈgrat]), in 1924 to Leningrad (Russian: Ленингра́д; IPA: [lʲɪnʲɪnˈgrat]), and in 1991, back to Saint Petersburg. In Russian literature, informal documents, and discourse, the word "Saint" is usually omitted, leaving "Petersburg". In casual conversation Russians may drop the "burg" as well, referring to it as "Peter": Russian: Питер (Piter).
Tsar Peter the Great founded Saint Petersburg on May 27 [O.S. 16] 1703. Between 1713–1728 and 1732–1918 Saint Petersburg functioned as the imperial capital of Russia. In 1918 the central government bodies moved from Saint Petersburg (then named Petrograd) to Moscow. It is Russia's second-largest city after Moscow, with 5 million inhabitants (2012), and the fourth most populated federal subject. Saint Petersburg is a major European cultural center, and also an important Russian port on the Baltic Sea.
Anna Karenina (Russian: «Анна Каренина»; Russian pronunciation: [ˈanːə kɐˈrʲenʲɪnə]) is a novel by the Russian writer Leo Tolstoy, published in serial installments from 1873 to 1877 in the periodical The Russian Messenger. Tolstoy clashed with editor Mikhail Katkov over political issues that arose in the final installment (Tolstoy's negative views of Russian volunteers going to fight in Serbia); therefore, the novel's first complete appearance was in book form in 1878.
Widely regarded as a pinnacle in realist fiction, Tolstoy considered Anna Karenina his first true novel, after he came to consider War and Peace to be more than a novel.
Fyodor Dostoyevsky declared it "flawless as a work of art." His opinion was shared by Vladimir Nabokov, who especially admired "the flawless magic of Tolstoy's style," and by William Faulkner, who described the novel as "the best ever written." The novel remains popular, as demonstrated by a 2007 poll of 125 contemporary authors in Time, which declared that Anna Karenina is the "greatest book ever written."

Eifman Ballet from St. Petersburg! Visionary choreographer Boris Eifman's full-length ballets combine dramatic stagecraft, exquisite technique and powerful dramatic interpretation. His newest ballet, Rodin, is based on the life of French sculptor Auguste Rodin and his turbulent relationship with his mistress and muse, Camille Claudel. Set to music by Saint-Saëns, Massenet and Ravel, Rodin is a tale of artistic inspiration and the terrible price of genius.
Eifman Ballet of St. Petersburg returns to City Center with two full-length ballets that typify Boris Eifman’s singular gift for creating powerful, provocative dance works. Inspired by the tragic life of ballerina Olga Spessivtseva, the 1997 ballet Red Giselle has been hailed as “one of the great dramatic ballets of the 20th century” (The San Francisco Chronicle). Tchaikovsky: The Mystery of Life and Death is a “ballet triumph” (Newsday) that delves into the composer’s glamorous life and tortured sexuality. Both ballets have been lovingly revised by Eifman for this engagement. “Boris Eifman has that heaven-sent ability to spin new movement into old emotions.” –New York Post http://screenstage.ru/?p=5690 http://izvestia.ru/news/636596 https://suitesculturelles.wordpress.com/2016/07/08/eifm...

Still I sit here where you left me alone
My feet in the water, feet in the water
I took the road you didn't dare to go
Rocks on my chest and knees on bruises
We travel fast, my voice and me,
One penny in the pocket, penny in the pocket
It's enough to build my town
With guardian angels looking after you and me
I see the waves embrace the shore
I've got my feet in the water, feet in the water
I'm speaking in a brand new tongue
Confidence flying... high and free
We got to drive away to explore
World and its corners, sides and corners
He felt safe with a loaded gun
Poor man's warranty, long-life warranty
I see the waves embrace the shore
I've got my feet in the water, feet in the water
I'm speaking in a brand new tongue
Confidence flying... high and free
(High and free)
Still I sit here where you left me alone
