Moonstar88

Moonstar88 is a Filipino rock band formed in Manila, Philippines.

History

Moonstar88 was formed in 1999. They were signed to Sony BMG by 2007, and later to Ivory Records in 2012. Previously under Backbeat Management, they are now with Soupstar Management under Darwin Hernandez which also handles other bands including Sandwich, Callalily, 6cyclemind, Pedicab.

As of April 2008, they have released three albums, Popcorn, Press to Play and Todo Combo, and collaborated on one track, Pag-Ibig Ko Sa Iyo, found on RoK On! Music Inspired By Ragnarok Online. They also performed a rendition of the APO song, "Panalangin" which they recorded and was added to the tribute album for the band, Apo Hiking Society, on the Kami nAPO Muna album. The band has also recorded a cover of Yano's famous song, Senti.

The band's newest album “This Year” which took two and a half years to finish, is under Ivory Music and contains 8 tracks, including a special track featuring Parokya Ni Edgar’s Chito Miranda and an acoustic version of “Migraine”.

Music video

A music video or song video is a short film integrating a song and imagery, produced for promotional or artistic purposes. Modern music videos are primarily made and used as a marketing device intended to promote the sale of music recordings. There are also cases where songs are used in tie in marketing campaigns that allow them to become more than just a song. Tie ins and merchandising could be used in toys are marketing campaigns for food and other products. Prior to the 1980s, these works were described by various terms including "illustrated song", "filmed insert", "promotional (promo) film", "promotional clip", "promotional video", "song video", "song clip" or "film clip". Since the creation and increased popularity of YouTube, mainstream artists now promote new music videos by releasing trailers of short promos on the site for their upcoming song and music video. Consequentially, YouTube has been converted into a social media platform for celebrities and artists to market themselves to their fans and audiences.

Music

Music is an art form and cultural activity whose medium is sound and silence. The common elements of music are pitch (which governs melody and harmony), rhythm (and its associated concepts tempo, meter, and articulation), dynamics (loudness and softness), and the sonic qualities of timbre and texture (which are sometimes termed the "color" of a musical sound). Different styles or types of music may emphasize, de-emphasize or omit some of these elements. Music is performed with a vast range of instruments and with vocal techniques ranging from singing to rapping, and there are solely instrumental pieces, solely vocal pieces and pieces that combine singing and instruments. The word derives from Greek μουσική (mousike; "art of the Muses"). Ancient Greek and Indian philosophers defined music as tones ordered horizontally as melodies and vertically as harmonies. A wish is a hope or desire for something. Fictionally, wishes can be used as plot devices. In folklore, opportunities for "making a wish" or for wishes to "come true" or "be granted" are themes that are sometimes used.

In literature

In fiction a wish is a supernatural demand placed on the recipient's unlimited request. When it is the center of a tale, the wish is usually a template for a morality tale, "be careful what you wish for"; it can also be a small part of a tale, in which case it is often used as a plot device. One can wish on many things for example: wishing wells, dandelions when one blows the seeds or light them on fire, stars and much more. When one wishes in a well he or she throws money in, in the hope his or her wish comes true, the money normally goes to a charity.

A template for fictional wishes could be The Book of One Thousand and One Nights, specifically the tale of Aladdin, although in the tale of Aladdin the actual wishes were only part of the tale. Also, Aladdin's demands, while outrageous, were mainly variations on wealth (which is still often taken as the most common request).
