Sante Monachesi
Sante Monachesi (1910-1991), was an Italian painter belonging to the modern movement of the Scuola romana (Roman School) and founder in 1932 of the Movimento Futurista nelle Marche (Futurist Movement of Marche).
Life and career
Monachesi studied at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia (Experimental film centre or Italian National film school) in Rome. In the 1930s he embraced Futurism with spiralist and diagonal shapes both in painting and in sculpture, experimenting with aluminium in a mobile light.
An important representative of Aeropittura (Aeropainting), in 1936 he exhibited at Biennale di Venezia and in 1937 at the World Expo of Paris.
Immediately after World War II, Monachesi did expressionist and fauve painting, also as a member of the Scuola Romana, becoming part of the group of "Balduina" with David Grazioso and Ferdinando Bellorini, but it was especially in plastic sculpture that his research became innovative. He explored new materials and compositions, and on the occasion of the Moon landing, he founded the Agrà Movement, a futurist current looking at these exalting successes of technology and thus expresses in artwork the absence of gravity, the Zero-G that by subtracting from bodies their terrestrial weight, proposes to free man and art from all conditioning.

Beta Hydri
Beta Hydri (β Hyi, β Hydri) is a star in the southern circumpolar constellation of Hydrus. (Note that Hydrus is not the same as Hydra.) With an apparent visual magnitude of 2.8, this is the brightest star in the constellation. Based upon parallax measurements the distance to this star is about 24.33 light-years (7.46 parsecs).
This star has about 104% of the mass of the Sun and 181% of the Sun's radius, with more than three times the Sun's luminosity. The spectrum of this star matches a stellar classification of G2 IV, with the luminosity class of 'IV' indicating this is a subgiant star. As such, it is a slightly more evolved star than the Sun, with the supply at its core becoming exhausted. It is one of the oldest stars in the solar neighborhood. This star bears some resemblance to what the Sun may look like in the far distant future, making it an object of interest to astronomers.
At around 364 BC, this star was closest to the South celestial pole, about three degrees away (decl 87º03'). It is currently the nearest relatively bright star to the southern pole.

E' la prima delle tre mostre a tema in programma nel 2015. E' stata inaugurata il 1 aprile alla presenza del Ministro Franceschini, in occasione della riapertura della libreria Arion in Piazza Montecitorio 59, e si concluderà il 30 maggio 2015 (ingresso gratuito).
Il tema della mostra ruota sul concetto di simbolo e su un certo tipo di estetica adottato o riconducibile ad un preciso periodo storico legato ad un movimento politico o ideologico. Il simbolo, capace di evocare una relazione tra un oggetto concreto e un’immagine mentale, è, in questo contesto, alla base di due modi di espressione: quello della retorica fascista e quello dell’arte del dopoguerra. Il fascismo fece largo uso della simbologia romana imperiale per rifarsi ad un passato glorioso.
Nel dopoguerra invece, l’opera non è un processo di emblematizzazione, ma presuppone piuttosto una presa diretta del vivere che è già nella psicologia collettiva, un pulsare frammentato di segni, stereotipi, slogan, incapaci di utilizzare il simbolo seriamente.
Sono esposte opere di Franco Angeli, Tano Festa, Mario Schifano, insieme ad una foto di Pier Paolo Pasolini, opera di Dino Pedriali e alcuni “libri-oggetto”( Mirella Bentivoglio, Emilio Isgrò e Arturo Martini).
Festa, Schifano e Angeli hanno in comune le stesse radici, cresciuti in un’Italia che faticosamente esce fuori dalle macerie della seconda guerra mondiale, raccontano il loro vissuto con una concretezza immateriale, con l’atto della pittura piuttosto che attraverso una continuità percettiva fatta di immagini simboliche.
La mostra è accompagnata da un catalogo con un’introduzione di Ovidio Jacorossi e Marcello Ciccaglioni e testi di Roberta Giulieni e Fabio Pizzicannella.
Le altre due mostre del 2015 affronteranno i temi della guerra e della luce con esposizioni di libri-oggetto e libri d’artista.

E' la prima delle tre mostre a tema in programma nel 2015. E' stata inaugurata il 1 aprile alla presenza del Ministro Franceschini, in occasione della riapertura della libreria Arion in Piazza Montecitorio 59, e si concluderà il 30 maggio 2015 (ingresso gratuito).
Il tema della mostra ruota sul concetto di simbolo e su un certo tipo di estetica adottato o riconducibile ad un preciso periodo storico legato ad un movimento politico o ideologico. Il simbolo, capace di evocare una relazione tra un oggetto concreto e un’immagine mentale, è, in questo contesto, alla base di due modi di espressione: quello della retorica fascista e quello dell’arte del dopoguerra. Il fascismo fece largo uso della simbologia romana imperiale per rifarsi ad un passato glorioso.
Nel dopoguerra invece, l’opera non è un processo di emblematizzazione, ma presuppone piuttosto una presa diretta del vivere che è già nella psicologia collettiva, un pulsare frammentato di segni, stereotipi, slogan, incapaci di utilizzare il simbolo seriamente.
Sono esposte opere di Franco Angeli, Tano Festa, Mario Schifano, insieme ad una foto di Pier Paolo Pasolini, opera di Dino Pedriali e alcuni “libri-oggetto”( Mirella Bentivoglio, Emilio Isgrò e Arturo Martini).
