Bruno Coquatrix, was born in Ronchin, Nord on 5 August 1910 and died in Paris on 1 April 1979, buried in the famous Père Lachaise Cemetery (division 96). He is mainly known as the owner and manager of the music hall Paris Olympia. He was instrumental in recognizing and exposing the talent of up-and-coming performers and brought international stars to Parisian audiences.
Bruno Coquatrix firstly made himself known as songs and music writer. He wrote over 300 songs, e.g. Mon ange (1940) ; Clopin-clopant (1947) ; Cheveux dans le vent (1949)), as well as some operettas.
He was the impresario of some French singers, e.g. Jacques Pills and Lucienne Boyer. He managed the variety theatre Bobino before he took over the Olympia, Europe’s biggest music hall in 1954. He then staged all the era’s celebrities, e.g. Georges Brassens, Jacques Brel, Gilbert Bécaud, Johnny Hallyday, Dalida, Édith Piaf, Annie Cordy, Mireille Mathieu, Yves Montand, and so many others. He also co-founded a records company, the Disques Versailles.
David Bowie ( /ˈboʊ.i/ BOH-ee; born David Robert Jones on 8 January 1947) is an English musician, actor, record producer and arranger. A major figure for over four decades in the world of popular music, Bowie is widely regarded as an innovator, particularly for his work in the 1970s. He is known for his distinctive voice and the intellectual depth and eclecticism of his work.
Bowie first caught the eye and ear of the public in July 1969, when his song "Space Oddity" reached the top five of the UK Singles Chart. After a three-year period of experimentation he re-emerged in 1972 during the glam rock era with the flamboyant, androgynous alter ego Ziggy Stardust, spearheaded by the hit single "Starman" and the album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. Bowie's impact at that time, as described by biographer David Buckley, "challenged the core belief of the rock music of its day" and "created perhaps the biggest cult in popular culture." The relatively short-lived Ziggy persona proved merely one facet of a career marked by continual reinvention, musical innovation and striking visual presentation.

Plot: An un-chronological look at the life of the Little Sparrow, Édith Piaf (1915-1963). Her mother is an alcoholic street singer, her father a circus performer, her paternal grandmother a madam. During childhood she lives with each of them. At 20, she's a street singer discovered by a club owner who's soon murdered, coached by a musician who brings her to concert halls, and then quickly famous. Constant companions are alcohol and heartache. The tragedies of her love affair with Marcel Cerdan and the death of her only child belie the words of one of her signature songs, "Non, je ne regrette rien." The back and forth nature of the narrative suggests the patterns of memory and association.

Plot: Iolanda Giliotti, born in Egypt to an Italian immigrant, rose to the top of stardom as a singer under the stage name of Dalida, but lived a roller-coaster personal life, the downs finally outweighing the ups and finally leading to her suicide at age 54. Accumulating hit songs ("Bambino", "Gondolier", "Paroles Paroles " "Avec le temps"), and even recognized as an actress (her dream in the first place) thanks to Youssef Chahine's "The Sixth Day", she was only occasionally happy but remained childless despite her will to become a mother. She loved many men (Lucien Morisse, Jean Sobieski, Luigi Tenco, Bernard Chanfray) but never managed to find the balance she was after. After one or two failed suicide attempts, she finally managed to take her own life, leaving thousands of fans disconsolate.
