Ta mig till havet

Ta mig till havet is a summertime-based song written by Peter Lundblad, and recorded by himself scoring a 1986 hit single. The song was also used as opening theme for the 1988 edition of Swedish summer vacation TV program Sommarlov.

The song is often sung at sing-along events in Sweden.

Other recordings

Recording the song, Curt Haagers charted with it at Svensktoppen for four weeks during the period of 16 November-7 December 1986, peaking at 6th position. Curt Haagers recording also became aviable on the 1986 album Curt Haagers -87.

Peter Lundblad

Gustaf Peter Lundblad (26 August 1950 – 22 December 2015) was a Swedish singer and songwriter, well known for his 1986 song Ta mig till havet. Lundblad started his career in the band 'The most Remarkable Nailband' where Lasse Tennander appeared as songwriter. Later they started the band 'Duga' but Tennander left the band quickly. In 1978, Lundblad and Torbjörn wrote and recorded the song Who Will Comfort Toffle? which also is a children's book written by Tove Jansson. Together with Agneta Olsson, Lundblad competed in Melodifestivalen 1983 with the song Vill du ha mig efter gryningen.

Lundblad died of prostate cancer, on 22 December 2015, aged 65.

Allsång på Skansen

Allsång på Skansen (Sing-along at Skansen) is a Swedish show held at Skansen, Stockholm, every summer on Tuesdays between 8pm and 9pm. The audience is supposed to sing-along with musical guests to well-known Swedish songs. The show started in 1935 on a small scale; about 50 people in the audience. Today about 10,000–25,500 people come to each performance.

Since 3 August 1979 the show has been broadcast by Sveriges Television. Initially the show had about 300,000 viewers. When Lasse Berghagen took over as host, the ratings increased to about 2 million viewers. In 2003, Allsång på Skansen was the first SVT programme that was broadcast with 5.1 multichannel sound. In 2007, it became one of the first Swedish live programmes broadcast in high-definition television.
