Flight disruptions continue due to French air traffic controllers' strike

A strike by air traffic controllers in France is continuing to disrupt flights throughout Europe.
The industrial action is being staged in protest against a cap on recruitment and reported lack of investment in the systems used by workers.
Ryanair has called on the French government and the European Commission to intervene to prevent passengers from being, as the company put it, "held to ransom" by "tiny numbers" of French workers.
Ryanair also pointed out that the strike was also disrupting flights overflying France, meaning that travellers whose flights neither take-off from nor land in a French airport are also affected.

The airline has cancelled eight flights departing from Dublin Airport and eight flights due to arrive there due to the strike.
The flights affected include those to Nantes, Alicante, Barcelona El Prat, Malaga, Nice, Murcia and Paris Beauvais.
Passengers are advised to check with their airline before beginning their journey.
The strike began at 5am yesterday and will end at 5am tomorrow.
