Mithun Chakraborty

Gourang Chakraborty, better known by his stage name Mithun Chakraborty (Bengali: মিঠুন চক্রবর্তী); informally referred to as Mithun Da, is an Indian film actor, singer, producer, writer, social worker, entrepreneur and a Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament. He is the recipient of three National Film Awards. He made his acting debut with the art house drama Mrigayaa (1976), for which he won his first National Film Award for Best Actor.

He began his career as a junior actor and went on to establish himself as one of the top lead actors in Bollywood. He is particularly recognized as one of the best "dancing-heroes" in Bollywood with his unique "Disco and Desi" fusion-style dancing that is immensely popular among the masses. Along with legendary actor Raj Kapoor, Chakraborty is hugely popular in Russia for his role as dancer Jimmy in the 1982 Bollywood film Disco Dancer. He later won two more National Film Awards for his performances in Tahader Katha (1992) & Swami Vivekananda (1998). Chakraborty has appeared in more than 350 films including Bengali, Oriya, Bhojpuri, Telugu and Punjabi pictures.

Aziz Sejawal

Aziz Sejawal (also spelt Sajawal or Sajaawal) is an Indian film director of Bollywood films. He has worked with major Bollywood actors such as Dharmendra, Mithun Chakraborty, Madhuri Dixit, Amrish Puri, Om Puri, Jackie Shroff, Juhi Chawla, Sanjay Dutt, Govinda and Rani Mukerji. Most of his films have comedic elements, though they often address themes of injustice and corruption.

Sanjay Dutt

Sanjay Balraj Dutt (born 29 July 1959) is an Indian film actor and producer known for his works in Bollywood. Dutt, son of veteran Hindi film actors Sunil Dutt and Nargis Dutt, made his acting debut in 1981. Since then he has acted in more than hundred Hindi films. Although Dutt has enjoyed great success in movie genres ranging from romance to comedy, it has been the roles of gangsters, thugs and police officers in films that belong to the action genre that have won Dutt much adulation, with fans and Indian film critics alike referring to him as the "Deadly Dutt," for his larger-than-life portrayals of such characters. In a film career spanning more than thirty five years, Dutt has garnered two Filmfare Awards, two IIFA Awards, two Bollywood Movie Awards, three Screen Awards, three Stardust Awards, a Global Indian Film Award and, a Bengal Film Journalists' Association Award.

Dutt was arrested under the Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act in April 1993, due to illegal possession of a 9mm pistol and a Type 56 assault rifle. After spending 18 months in jail, he was granted bail in April 1995. In July 2007 he was sentenced to six years rigorous imprisonment, including his previous term of 18 months. The Supreme Court of India, in a judgement on 21 March 2013, convicted Dutt of illegal possession of arms relating to the 1993 Mumbai blasts case and sentenced him to five years imprisonment which is likely to get over on 25 February 2016.

Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri Dixit (born 15 May 1967) is an Indian actress who is known for her work in Hindi cinema. A leading actress in the 1980s, 1990s and early-2000s, Dixit has been praised by critics for her acting and dancing skills. She has received six Filmfare Awards, four for Best Actress, one for Best Supporting Actress and one special award. She has been nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Actress a record fourteen times. She was awarded the Padma Shri, India's fourth-highest civilian award, by the Government of India in 2008.

Dixit made her film debut in Abodh (1984) and received wider public recognition with Tezaab (1988). She went on to establish herself as a leading actress of Hindi cinema with the films Ram Lakhan (1989), Parinda (1989), Dil (1990), Saajan (1991), Beta (1992), Khalnayak (1993), Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! (1994), Raja (1995), and Dil To Pagal Hai (1997). She also garnered critical acclaim for her work in the dramas Anjaam (1994), Mrityudand (1997), Pukar (2000), Lajja (2001) and Devdas (2002). In 2002, she took a sabbatical from films to raise her children and made a comeback with the musical Aaja Nachle in 2007, later starring in the 2014 dramas Dedh Ishqiya and Gulaab Gang.

Amrita Singh

Amrita Singh (born 9 February 1958) is an Indian film and television actress.

Early life

Amrita was born to a Sikh family. She is the daughter of Rukhsana Sultana, who was a political activist and Shivinder Singh Virk, who was an army officer, and himself from a landowning family (his sister married a former ruling prince). Through her maternal grandmother Mohinder Kaur, Amrita is the great-granddaughter of Sir Sobha Singh, OBE, of Hadali, Sargodha, one of the builders of New Delhi, and the great-niece of the late novelist Khushwant Singh. The Singh dynasty, descended from Sir Sobha Singh and his brother, is wealthy but stays out of the public eye.

Her maternal grandmother Zarina, was the elder sister of actress Begum Para, mother of actor Ayub Khan. Zarina and Begum Para was also the daughter of Mian Ehsan Ul Haque, who came from a landowning family. He was a judge and the Chief Justice of the highest court in the princely state of Bikaner, northern Rajasthan. Her mother Rukhsana Sultana's father was a Punjabi Hindu, Group Captain Madan Mohan Bimbet, but Zarina took her daughter back after the marriage failed and the child was renamed Rukhsana Sultana and became a Muslim, thus inheriting most of Ehsan Ul Haque's property.
