Insulin resistance (IR) is a pathological condition in which cells fail to respond to the normal actions of the hormone insulin. The body produces insulin. When the body produces insulin under conditions of insulin resistance, the cells in the body are resistant to the insulin and are unable to use it as effectively, leading to high blood sugar. Beta cells in the pancreas subsequently increase their production of insulin, further contributing to a high blood insulin level. This often remains undetected and can contribute to a diagnosis of Type 2 diabetes or latent autoimmune diabetes of adults.
These depend on poorly understood variations in individual biology and consequently may not be found with all people diagnosed with insulin resistance.

Find Your Body Type: http://bit.ly/BodyTypeQuiz Dr. Berg explains what insulin resistance is in a simple way. He covers what insulin is, what the insulin receptor is, what diabetes is and how the pancreas and liver works in relationship to insulin sensitivity. To overcome obesity and blood sugar insulin problems, it is imperative that you understand the mechanism of insulin resistance. Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio: Dr. Berg, 50 years of age is a chiropractor who specializes in weight loss through nutritional and natural methods. His private practice is located in Alexandria, Virginia. His clients include senior officials in the U.S. government and the Justice Department, ambassadors, medical doctors, high-level executives of prominent corporations, scientists, engineers, professors, and other ...
What is Insulin Resistance and How to Avoid it Free Mastery Course http://ameerrosic.com/vip what is Insulin Resistance? In the simplest terms insulin resistance means that your cells do not have proper communicate with insulin anymore. This will cause your body to accumulate glucose in your blood and cause serious negative health problems. When this happens, the body puts out more insulin to stabilize blood glucose. This will lead to hyperinsulinemia or too much insulin in the blood. Hyperinsulinemia will cause other problems, including making it more difficult for the body to use stored fat for energy. This will lead to obesity, decrease insulin response and failure of your cells communicating with insulin and glucose. Full article: What is Insulin Resistance http://www.ameerrosic.co...

The most concerning downside of low-carb diets, though, is heart health: Low Carb Diets and Coronary Blood Flow (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/low-carb-diets-and-coronary-blood-flow/) This is the first of a 3-part video series on the cause of type 2 diabetes, so as to better understand dietary interventions to prevent and treat the epidemic. Next, in The Spillover Effect Links Obesity to Diabetes (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/the-spillover-effect-links-obesity-to-diabetes), I talk about how that fat can come either from our diet or e...
There is a growing body of research indicating that chronically elevated levels of insulin, leading to insulin resistance is at the heart of several chronic diseases afflicting our society: obesity, Type II Diabetes, heart disease, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, fatty liver (NAFLD), poly-cystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), cancer, and even Alzheimer's disease. It is important to understand these are not stand alone conditions, but are all related to one dysfunctional metabolic process. We will discuss the role elevated insulin has in the development of these conditions and why a whole foods based diet is critical to improving the dysfunction. Part 3/3. Meridian Valley Lab’s Kraft Prediabetes Profile is a timed test that measures the patient’s insulin response to a measured glucose challenge and return to baseline over a 4-hour period. This test looks at patterns of insulin response rather than a strict cut-off point for glucose. These patterns delineate the severity of insulin resistance, as a patient progresses from normal insulin sensitivity to postprandial hyperinsulinemia to the insulinopenic state found in beta-cell exhaustion. This spectrum of insulin response allows the clinician to identify insulin resistance early in its development. (This holds true even when fasting and 2 hour post-challenge glucose levels are normal and fasting insulin is below 10μIU/mL.) The resulting evaluation of insulin resistance severity...
http://simplenaturalandhomeremedies.blogspot.co.uk/ Metabolic syndrome : It's a health condition that everyone's talking about. Although it was only identified less than 20 years ago, metabolic syndrome is as widespread as pimples and the common cold . According to the American Heart Association, 47 million Americans have it. That's almost a staggering one out of every six people. The syndrome runs in families and is more common among African-Americans, Hispanics, Asians, and Native Americans. The risks of developing metabolic syndrome increases as you age. http://youtu.be/M5nnLEi4-iA

Watch the latest episode of Leslie Kenton's Cura Romana on Blip! http://blip.tv/leslie-kentons-cura-romana/watch As an awareness of the Syndrome X phenomenon of insulin resistance spread, researchers and clinicians have begun to understand that many of us who are not diabetic still experience insulin resistance. Responsible scientists began to ask questions about what causes it. The discoveries they are now making are nothing short of revolutionary. They not only offer us the power to slow the rate at which our bodies age. They are experimenting with protocols that can, potentially reverse negative conditions from hypertension, insulin resistance to cholesterol imbalances and depression, simp...
Dr. Tommy Wood completed a degree in biochemistry at Cambridge University before studying medicine at Oxford. After working for two years as a doctor in central London, he is now researching neonatal brain metabolism for his PhD. He believes in a whole-foods approach to diet, and that food, movement, sleep, community, and the outdoors should be at the core of the treatment for any illness. Dr. Wood is the Chief Scientific Officer for the Physicians and Ancestral Health Society, and has lectured internationally on systematic approaches to treating chronic diseases. ----- Join the discussion on the blog @ http://live.SmashTheFat.com/the-whole-picture-of-insulin-resistance/ ----- Website & Blog - http://www.DrRagnar.com Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/DrRagnar Twitter - https://twitter....

How to overcome Insulin resistance in Diabetes mellitus txt Aristotle said: Nature does nothing in vain. Which applies also to the organism. Every so called disorder has a purpose. Here I explain what is the purpose of Diabetes and insulin resistance? Brain function depends on an adequte supply of glucose and oxygen. When supply of both declines, brain loses conscousness. I shall therefore describe the control of glucose and oxygen. The brain consumes about one-fifth of total body oxygen utilization. It is metabolically one of the most active of all organs in the body. Blood sugar and insulin are controled at two levels: 1. Lower level: Endocrine control. 2. Upper level: CNS control. CNS control of oxygen and glucose is coupled . While lower level control is influenced by all organs of ...
