Questions
The trailer for season 6 of the
HBO series Game of the
Thrones was released on March 8th for the upcoming season that will debut on
April 24th.
The one minute and 41 second trailer was chalk full of swords, dragons, sex, darkness, blood and ominous dialogue all set to
Chris Issac’s wicked game. You’ve had 2 weeks to obsess and pour over the trailer.
Netflix &
Marvel announced that
Finn Jones has been cast as Danny Rand in the upcoming series Iron Fist along with a promo teaser image.
Jones will play
Daniel Rand, who returns to
New York City after missing for years. He fights against the criminal element corrupting New York City with his incredible kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist. Iron Fist will be Netflix’s 4th Marvel series along with
Daredevil,
Jessica Jones,
Luke Cage and will eventually round out
The Defenders.
Tom Hardy is coming to TV in a FX mini-series, Taboo, which he’ll be starring in and producing alongside Ridley Scott,
Steven Knight and consulting producer
Chips Hardy,
Tom’s father. The original series follows
James Keziah Delaney who returns to 1816
London after being presumed dead while traveling to the ends of the earth. Hardy and
Knight previously collaborated on the critically acclaimed film
Locke and
BBC-2 drama
Peaky Blinders.
In recent renewal news
AMC has ordered a 3rd season of Better Call Saul. Gotham on Fox will see a 3rd season, while
The CW just hit the auto-renewal button on its entire lineup, highlighted by a 3rd season of
The Flash, a 4th season of Arrow and a 2nd season of the rookie series
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.
SUPERHERO ROUNDUP
Every week on TV Talk we’ll discuss the TV happenings in the superhero realm. That being said, we had a huge week with the release of Daredevil season 2 on Netflix.
This weekend at
Silicon Valley Comic Con Jeremy Renner was asked about possibly doing a
Hawkeye TV series to which he responded very positively to saying he thinks the Netflix model is a really great model and if there’s ever a way to explore the character, maybe it’s in that world.
AMC screened the pilot episode of
Preacher at
South by Southwest to rave reviews. Preacher tells the story of
Jesse Custer, a preacher accidentally possessed by the supernatural creature named
Genesis, the product of the unauthorized, unnatural coupling of an angel and a demon, composed of both pure goodness and pure evil; which might have enough power to rival that of God Himself.
STREAMING SPOTLIGHT
Each week, we’ve decided to feature one
TV show that’s currently only available on streaming services. This week we’ll be talking about the HULU period drama

High School english teacher who, with the help of Al Templeton, played by
Chris Cooper, goes back in time to try and stop the assassination of
