Plot: The men in this town are away to work, leaving the women to fend for themselves and their respective children, until they return. While the men patronize various courtesans and prostitutes while away from their wives, their wives have also figured out a way of satisfying their sexual pleasure. And then one day, one of the wives, Shaku, declares that she is pregnant, and that the child is not that of her husband, Amarji. There is furore all over the small town, and there are demands that Shaku be expelled, and the matter is left to the town panchayat to decide her fate. It is then the women, who have been silent, speak up. But will their voices be heard and taken note of?

Plot: Kailashnath is a widower, and father of an only son, Ramesh. He feels that his son has come of age, and must get married. He goes to see a number of young ladies for him, but is disappointed with them, as he feels they are too modern, speak English, and listen to foreign music. He feels that Ramesh will be better off marrying a non-English speaking lady, preferably from a small village. But the predicament of Ramesh is that he is already in love with Ramola, a very well qualified, English speaking Doctor, and he knows fully well that she will not be approved by his dad. So Ramesh, Ramola and Lalaji concoct a plot, making Ramola masquerade as a naive, non-English speaking village belle, with hilarious and unpredictable results.

Plot: Mohan (Amitabh Bachchan) and Asha (Mala Sinha) are in love with each other, and eventually marry each other in a private temple. Circumstances separate the couple, and Mohan marries Seema (Aruna Irani) and has two children. Mohan is employed with the local municipality. After 10 years, there is a new Collector coming to town, and that person is Asha, who will take over this position, and will be Mohan's boss. After her arrival, rumours start to circulate about Mohan and Asha. Seema, at first disregards these rumours, but then comes across a photograph of Mohan and Asha together exchanging garlands and getting married. Seema wants a decision and must confront Mohan and Asha both to find out what the real truth is. Can Seema handle the truth?
