Just a video of my favorite games for the Atari 2600. It may be a different list than what you normally see as the best games for the system, but my tastes run slightly different and this list reflects that.
Gameplay video of 75 Atari 2600 (VCS) games with the original music/sound. It's not a "best of Atari" list, but many of these games are good, great, and/or popular. This is a list of the games that I own in my collection (minus Starmaster, which wouldn't record correctly for some reason). These video clips were recorded from an actual Atari 2600 system (with a composite video mod) and actual game cartridges. No emulators were used.

A long, long time ago, I was just a kid afraid of playing videogames. What I really liked was seeing my Super-dad and my brother playing these old Atari games. Nowadays they look very, very simple... but it's very, VERY complex to understand how much I miss these old days... I LOVE you, dad :D
P.s. 1: It's me playing in the video, my dad refused to play because he don't like my playstation joystick haha :D
P.s. 2: It's impossible for me to record the sounds using Stellax, so I used a song that my brother did.

Sometimes when you rediscover your childhood treasures, they aren't quite as polished when you are an adult. Have no fear! I take it upon myself this week to compile the Atari 2600 games that are still a lot of fun even today. In an age of 3D HD graphics, surround sound and multi-core processors, there is still a lot of fun to be had in many old Atari games from 30 years ago.

Atari Games Corporation was an American producer of arcade games, and originally part of Atari, Inc.
When, in 1984, Warner Communications sold the Atari Consumer division of Atari Inc. (which included the video game divisions) to Jack Tramiel (who named his company Atari Corporation), Warner initially retained the arcade coin-op division (Atari Coin), renaming it "Atari Games". The agreement between Tramiel and Warner Communications was that Atari Games must always include the "Games" after "Atari" on its logo and that Atari Games could not use the Atari brand at all in the consumer market (computers and home consoles). Atari Games retained most of the same employees and managers that had worked at the old Atari Inc. It was able to carry on with many of its projects from before the transition. Atari Corp., in contrast, froze projects and streamlined staff and operations. In 1985, the controlling interest of Atari Games was sold to Namco (a company with strong past ties to Atari Inc.), who soon lost interest in operating an American subsidiary. In 1986 a group of employees bought Namco's share.

Conan Christopher O'Brien (born April 18, 1963) is an American television host, comedian, writer, producer and performer. Since November 2010 he has hosted Conan, a late-night talk show that airs on the American cable television station TBS.
O'Brien was born in Brookline, Massachusetts, and raised in an Irish Catholic family. He served as president of the Harvard Lampoon while attending Harvard University, and was a writer for the sketch comedy series Not Necessarily the News. After writing for several comedy shows in Los Angeles, he joined the writing staff of Saturday Night Live, and later of The Simpsons. He hosted Late Night with Conan O'Brien from 1993 to 2009, followed by seven months hosting The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien, the only person to serve as the permanent host for both NBC programs.
O'Brien was born in Brookline, Massachusetts (a suburb of Boston) to Thomas O'Brien, a physician, epidemiologist, and professor of medicine at Harvard, and Ruth O'Brien (née Reardon), an attorney and partner at the Boston firm Ropes & Gray. He is the third of six children. O'Brien's family is Irish Catholic and descends from pre-Civil War era immigrants. In a Late Night episode, O'Brien paid a visit to County Kerry, Ireland, where his ancestors originated.

A long, long time ago, I was just a kid afraid of playing videogames. What I really liked was seeing my Super-dad and my brother playing these old Atari games. Nowadays they look very, very simple... but it's very, VERY complex to understand how much I miss these old days... So if you remember from last episode, we mentioned that the first arcade machine, Galaxy Game, happened to have a coin slot, but this was just the beginning. Nolan Bushnell, often considered the Father of the Video Game Industry, saw the opportunity for the commercialization of video games. Bushnell founded Atari and oversaw the development of its first game - Pong. A long, long time ago, I was just a kid afraid of playing videogames. What I really liked was seeing my Super-dad and my brother playing these old Atari games. Nowadays they look very, very simple... but it's very, VERY complex to understand how much I miss these old days... I LOVE you, dad :D
P.s. 1: It's me playing in the video, my dad refused to play because he don't like my playstation joystick haha :D
P.s. 2: It's impossible for me to record the sounds using Stellax, so I used a song that my brother did.

I take it upon myself this week to compile the Atari 2600 games that are still a lot of fun even today. Today, Andre is going to talk about the rise of Atari and with it the rise of the video game industry. So if you remember from last episode, we mentioned that the first arcade machine, Galaxy Game, happened to have a coin slot, but this was just the beginning. Nolan Bushnell, often considered the Father of the Video Game Industry, saw the opportunity for the commercialization of video games. Bushnell founded Atari and oversaw the development of its first game - Pong. And then, through some questionably ethical business strategies, Bushnell was able to get his machines into arcades all across the United States. But if this is all Atari had done, we probably wouldn’t be dedicating an entire episode to it. Atari also played a major role in getting video games into the home with the Atari 2600 console. Video games were becoming a part of peoples’ everyday lives and they were becoming a part of popular culture. But Atari wasn’t the only video game company in the 1970s, it wasn’t even the first. So we’re going talk about some of the other companies that took part in the war for a place in our living rooms next week!
