Sensation (event)

Sensation is an indoor electronic dance music event which originated in the Netherlands and organized by ID&T. The original event, which ran exclusively in the Amsterdam ArenA for a period of five years until 2005, is now located throughout Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Great Britain, Italy, Netherlands, Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, United States, Brazil, Chile, Denmark, Germany, Korea, Romania, South Africa, Taiwan, Thailand, and United Arab Emirates. In 2008, it was announced that for the first time Sensation would be held on New Year's Eve in Melbourne, Australia, as well as in Düsseldorf, Germany and Barcelona, Spain, but has not been in these countries since.

ID&T announced in 2011 that Sensation would tour the United States of America in 2012 for the first time. The first Sensation USA event took place back-to-back nights on 26 and 27 October at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York City. The event was webcast on Xbox Live. ID&T also announced on 3 April 2012 that Sensation would also be making its debut in Asia, making stops in South Korea, Thailand, and Taiwan. In a press conference held in Seoul, Korea, it was revealed that the first Sensation Asia will be held in Seoul, Korea, on 21 July. After Sensation Korea the ‘Ocean of White’ show heads over to Bangkok, Thailand for a show on 18 August and to Kaohsiung, Taiwan on 29 September. All of which are a Co-Production between ID&T and Heineken Beer Company. On 5 February 2013 a Canadian debut was announced, presented by Bud Light Canada. It has been announced that Sensation will take place in Meydan Dubai, U.A.E on October 31, 2014,Monterrey, Mexico on November 8, 2014 and in Toronto, Canada on November 29, 2014.

Sensation (psychology)

In psychology, sensation and perception are stages of processing of the senses in human and animal systems, such as vision, auditory, vestibular, and pain senses. Included in this topic is the study of illusions such as motion aftereffect, color constancy, auditory illusions, and depth perception.

Sensation is the function of the low-level biochemical and neurological events that begin with the impinging of a stimulus upon the receptor cells of a sensory organ. It is the detection of the elementary properties of a stimulus.

Perception is the mental process or state that is reflected in statements like "I see a uniformly blue wall", representing awareness or understanding of the real-world cause of the sensory input. The goal of sensation is detection, the goal of perception is to create useful information of the surroundings.

In other words, sensations are the first stages in the functioning of senses to represent stimuli from the environment, and perception is a higher brain function about interpreting events and objects in the world. Stimuli from the environment are transformed into neural signals, which are then interpreted by the brain, through a process called transduction. Transduction is the physical process of converting stimuli into biological signals that may further influence the internal state of the organism, including the possible production of conscious awareness or perception.

Dana (Mirna)

Dana, proizvodnja in prodaja pijač, d. o. o. (English: Dana, the manufacture and sale of drinks) is a major Slovenian manufacturer of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. It is located in the village of Mirna in southeastern Slovenia.

The company was established as a work organization in 1952. The brand Dana was registered in 1955. At first, the company produced only alcoholic beverages. After 1970, the program was expanded with the non-alcohol beverages. Since 2005, Dana has made the majority of profit with its high-quality natural mineral water Dana. In July 2012, the company was transformed from a joint-stock company to a limited liability company. It changed its name from Dana, tovarna rastlinskih specialitet in destilacija, d.d. (English: Dana, the plant specialties factory and distillation) to Dana, proizvodnja in prodaja pijač, d.o.o. (English: Dana, the manufacture and sale of drinks).

In 2000, Dana was ISO 9001 certified. In 2009, it obtained the International Food Standard (IFS) certificate.

Dana 30

The Dana/Spicer Model 30 is an automotive axle manufactured by Dana Holding Corporation, has a history that dates back to the 1930s and can still be seen in Jeep front ends today. The Dana 30 has been manufactured as a beam axle and independent suspension axle setups. There are different variations of the Dana 30.

Dana 23

The Dana Spicer 23 is the axle the Dana 30 is loosely based on today, with improvements throughout time. Although this axle was only made for the rear of vehicles. Full floating and semi floating variations were produced.

Dana 25

The Dana Spicer 25 was based on the Dana 23 and was made only as a front axle for Four-wheel drive vehicles. This was the company's first front drive axle.

White and Black in chess

In chess, the player who moves first is referred to as "White" and the player who moves second is referred to as "Black". Similarly, the pieces that each conducts are called, respectively, "the white pieces" and "the black pieces". The pieces are often not literally white and black, but some other colors (usually a light color and a dark color, respectively). The 64 squares of the chessboard, which is colored in a checkered pattern, are likewise referred to as "white squares" or "light squares" on the one hand, and "black squares" or "dark squares" on the other. In most cases, the squares are not actually white and black, but a light color and a contrasting dark color. For example, the squares on plastic boards are often off-white ("buff") and green, while those on wood boards are often light brown and dark brown.

In old chess writings, the sides are often called Red and Black, because those were the two colors of ink then commonly available when hand-drawing or printing chess position diagrams.

Black (Lita Ford album)

Black is Lita Ford's sixth studio album and featured a change of style in her music, compared to her other albums. Black sees Ford move into other musical styles such as blues and grunge, while still maintaining her metal and rock roots. There would be a 14-year gap between Black and her next studio album, 2009's Wicked Wonderland.
